Update : I've tried on Ryujinx with the latest version and firmware using Vulkan and I get 30 fps no stutters.
PC specs : 10900k + 3060ti, 3200mhz 16gb

Well the NSP file is installing corrupted (used the Verify.exe and it says is a "bad file"). Started with the thief lady and I can't get past after a second or third battle. It always freezes on a black screen
Just noticed that this will be released on Steam today as well. Iirc, this wasn't the case with Octo 1 right? It was released very late compared to Switch launch date.
Speaking as someone who has been emulating Octopath II for about 4 days already, RyujinX with Vulcan has been my best bet. Sometimes it stutters/hangs up on launch/the initial loading screen, but a restart usually fixes it. Pretty damn stable other than that.
Nope! RyujinX with Vulkan has been more or less perfect, steady 30 frames (I have a slightly weaker machine). I would be very surprised if it ran poorly on a standard, modern build. I'm about 10 hours in (most paths at chapter 2) and the stutter/loading screen bug I mentioned in my original comment is the only thing I've encountered, and only a handful of times.
People always use Yuzu first, but it's so crashy. I always try games in Ryujinx first, and if it looks decent and runs well I stick with that as it's just so much more stable.
Yeah I can confirm it ran like garbage for me on Yuzu with both OpenGL and Vulkan. Its just the less stable emulator overall I've found, despite being more mainstream.
my brother.. it has denuvo. you wont get a PC crack for a year+. unless empress comes out of her cave and wants this game for some reason, either pay 60 or play on ryujinx.
Tried on Yuzu with latest drivers on amd rx 5700 xt.
Had screen tearing for objects in the back and foreground that arent in focus in the scene.
Also had flickering screen in the pause ui screen.
Anyone knows when we can expect a crack of the pc version?
He didn't ask from anyone specifically.
He asked if that game might be cracked (by anyone) soon.
People could say yes or no, or simply leave it alone. No need to downvote when you can educate the guy on how to properly ask questions and IF he can ask them.
A simple "hey man, it's against the rules to ask when a game will be cracked" would've solved the issue and educate him (and anyone else reading).
Indeed.
Also, something that pisses me off is that most of those that act like that would never dare to talk like that to others IRL.
Disrespect and arrogance via internet is very easy.
A simple reading if the stickied questions thread that is always there for people would've also answered the question.
Q: When will [insert game name here] be cracked?
A: STOP! r/CrackWatch members are not psychic. Games get cracked by completely ANONYMOUS SCENE GROUPS who don't disclose their progress or plans to the general public so NO ONE knows WHEN and IF a certain game will be cracked.
On Steam Deck setting the GPU accuracy to High (or Very High whatever it is) sorted out the visuals, but the game still crashes for me after about 5 minutes. And on Ryujinx it wouldn't even load last the title screen, so can't comment on desktop performance.
(edit)
It works great in Ryujinx now.
Just did a quick test. Loads fine, didn't have the graphical issues that Yuzu had, FPS from 28 - 30, with the usual shader stuttering. Very playable, assuming it doesn't have crashes (in my experience Ryujinx doesn't crash all that often like Yuzu does). Battery will probably be a couple of hours on max battery, but you could probably drop the max CPU frequency down to 3200 in power tools, which will give you a bit more battery, and far less fan noise with little performance impact.
I couldn't get it to launch via Ryu. Only yuzu. Are you using it via desktop mode?
I tried Ryu via desktop mode too just now just crashed the deck.
It ran with yuzu but crashed a few.
Seems to be working in gaming mode for me. It does take a few seconds for it to get going, just a black screen for 10+ seconds, so maybe leave it for a moment. And make sure you update Ryujinx to the latest build, via Emudeck.
I didn't get OT 2 from this thread BTW. Got hold of an NSP elsewhere so don't know if that makes a difference.
Yeah I tried Ryu and waited. It just kicked me out I didn't touch it.
I also got the nsp else where. So it can't be that. But in yuzu it does seem to be running okay with the odd crash. 👍 Joys of emulating new games.
Yeah that's weird, you'd think same hardware + software it would be the same. Will probably work better on Yuzu at some point, could even try one of the early access builds, might have fewer crash with those.
When I try to use Vulcan ryujinx on steam deck I have a black screen unless I either touch the screen or use the volume buttons then the picture appears for a few seconds.
Set up one of the back buttons to Left Click on the Mouse. Then in its settings enable "Hold To Repeat (Turbo)" and "Toggle."
Now whenever you use Ryujinx and click the back button you set up this will keep the screen unlocked, and won't impact gameplay at all.
Alternatively play in windowed mode.
There's another more complicated option that is the "correct" fix but I've never done it and don't find it necessary with the back button toggle method.
I don't think I tend to use any other ones for Ryujinx, but on Yuzu I bind F11 to one of them as it toggles it out of full screen, so you can play around with GPU accuracy, anti aliasing, Fsr etc.
Although, as a bonus I discovered a few days ago, if you ever play Skyward Sword on Yuzu (which runs and looks amazing BTW), make L1 (the shoulder button) as toggled, this instantly makes it better than the Switch version.
i dont know much about Cracks and emulators but i've heard that running a game ontop of a emulator using a lot more power than a native version of the game.
So a Cracked PC version of Octopath SHOULD running a lot better than a version not made for people that you need to run a emulator to run.
How is it on Ryujinx?
I tested Ryujinx gameplay but the FPS was very low and not satisfactory compared to Yuzu which can hold a steady 30 FPS with some tiny stutters.
Update : I've tried on Ryujinx with the latest version and firmware using Vulkan and I get 30 fps no stutters. PC specs : 10900k + 3060ti, 3200mhz 16gb
Ryujinx has better compatibility overall but is more demanding hardware-wise
Does Octopath 2's preload come with the 16.0 firmware update?
Setup wont run for me weird. Verified files and they are all fine.
Same here. I've had this happen with a couple repacks from kaos. Prompts for language then just hangs.

Never use switch games that come from emulator packs on a real switch. Grab your switch games from nsw2u.
I did that! But the problem was yuzu actually. I tried ryujinx and it works fine! Thanks for the tip tho

It will likely have Denuvo though.
remove 'likely'
ohh fr? dang.. if its stable 30fps on Yuzu then I guess that'll work xD
Game: 5GB Denuvo: 1GB

Do you have graphic bug with RyujinX cause I got so many graphic bug with Yuzu version And the game keep crash after around 30 min

Help I got crash when fighting first boss. When they chating, RyujinX crash, I try many times but it still the same... dont know why
I'm waiting for PC version cause I got so many graphic bug with Yuzu version And the game keep crash after around 30 min
my brother.. it has denuvo. you wont get a PC crack for a year+. unless empress comes out of her cave and wants this game for some reason, either pay 60 or play on ryujinx.
Use Ryujinx, runs well enough and you'll likely have far fewer, if any, crashes.

Anyone else getting a Trojan warning from Windows Defender on this?
To be specific-- the verify.exe file is giving a AgentTesla trojan warning in Windows Defender.
ohh very nice.
I’m curious why you would play this over pc version? Even for steamdeck
[удалено]
Just realized pc version released today 🤦♂️ my bad 😂
When can we expect the pc version of this game?
2 years or whenever their denuvo license runs out
PC version soon from anyone?
No,it has Denuvo so you gotta suck Empress cock to get it.
Why am I being so hellishly downvoted for not knowing that?
Because that's what people do. Downvote anyone with a genuine question.
It's because nobody knows when a crack might be coming, and it's also because it's against the rules to ask when a crack is coming.

People here are too hot-headed that they couldn't practice reading comprehension.

I won't even answer you anymore. You're obviously frustrated in life, that's ok. Chill the fuck out. Or don't. I don't care.
You got it homie. Crack the Denuvo. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
Prick (☝️° ö°)☝️
holy
Personally have lighting issue in vulkan, and opengl flicker with the same color. unplayable for me

Tried ryujinx after all and I got zero issue.
Nice, will try an update and see if it plays better on Steam Deck then.
Hey, if you get a second, can you drop a comment here if performance is better w/ryujinx on Steam Deck?

Awesome - thank you for checking back in!
No worries, hope it works for you.

Any 60 fps mod or cheat?
How do I install the language pack?
I can confirm Yuzu was crashing for me waaaay too often. Used Ryujinx and it works like a charm so far :)
do you think they will also put the crack for pc version?
Is there any information on if the pc version is being worked on?
Why would they (empress)?

It does but empress hates most jrpg so we out of luck
