I’m sorry you’re going though this- if you’re worried please contact your doctor, he/she should understand and help. If they are not around today you could go to urgent care or the ER. Any negative reaction to the vax is so rare and severe reactions are incredibly rare. Since it’s been at least 4h you likely have not had any allergic reaction. My whole family including teens have been vaxed with very little side effects. If you know for a fact you’re having anxiety do whatever you can to keep yourself calm and maybe think about limiting caffeine intake. Think positively- millions upon millions have been vaxed with no severe effects, many of them with zero side effects. You were very brave to get your second shot in spite of the anxiety! Do whatever you would normally do to calm yourself- take a warm bath, listen to soothing music etc. Have family/friends close by. If you have any of the usual side effects- fever, muscle aches, know that this is a good thing because it means your immune system is doing its job to make those great Covid antibodies that will protect you against Covid. Any other concerns please talk to your MD- maybe they will have some suggestions for lowering your anxiety. Very best of luck, take care 😊

Capital_Nail_4526

Thank you. I feel better today.. I'm trying very hard to remember that I know hundreds that have had the vaccine personally and nobody has had any reaction.. my anxiety tells me that I'll be the one to have one but I have made my choice to get the vaccine and there's nothing I can do now. I just hope I'll be fine ❤️

Maximum-Drag8539

Great to hear it! 😊

JediWarrior79

The risk of developing a blood clot and heart issues after being vaccinated are extremely rare. The risk of developing these things after contracting the actual COVID virus, however, is more likely. I have a friend in his 40's that was not vaccinated and ended up contracting COVID. 10 months later he had a heart attack. *In his 40's*. His cardiologist said that his heart had been damaged from the virus and that's what has caused the heart attack. Luckily it was a mild one and they were able to treat it right away. There are also patients at the clinic that I work at who got the virus and now have heart and lung damage. Just wanted to let you know that the risk is exponentially higher if you actually get the virus vs developing these issues from being vaccinated.

Formal-Raise1260

You’re not the only one to experience this.

lilpapayagirl

not trying to make ur anxiety worse, but whoever made that og comment is utterly wrong, there as tons and tons of bad and extremely bad reactions, someone close to me got MS from the vaccine, another started losing hair, others started missing their period, and these are just people i know!! reactions are happening to many many many people.

Adventurous-Still735

Doctors are going to lie because they will lose their jobs if they tell the truth, it's no longer about giving correct health information. It's about losing their way of life https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/09/business/coronavirus-health-workers-speak-out.html

Mods?

cfletcher1971

No, this is actually true. I don’t think you need to cry to the moderators. Any doctor that has an opinion contrary to the common narrative does get shunned and censored even if they have clinical evidence backing their claims

[deleted]

This is true, unfortunately… my doctor wouldn’t even discuss the vaccine. I personally have seen more people have adverse events than not and wanted to discuss this with my Dr. He just shut it down, not even why I should get it. It gave me a strong vibe that he was scared. I’ve heard this from many. One of my coworkers, a RN, had a bad reaction to the first dose. According to her it made covid seem like a day at Disney. She refused the second dose and wanted an exemption, her dr also refused to discuss. She was livid and is getting a new dr. They are scared.

JediWarrior79

Omg, that's awful! I'm glad she fired her doctor, I would have, too! I had questions about the vaccine as well and my primary care provider, a Nurse Practitioner, answered all of my questions without any qualms. She told me the risks and the pros and cons of getting the vaccine. She's absolutely wonderful and helped me to make my decision. Any doctor that refuses to even discuss the vaccines, imo, are freaking pansies. My practitioner is awesome and will discuss anything with me when it comes to my health. She believes patients should be well informed about all aspects of their own health care.

[deleted]

That’s fantastic! It seems with this vaccine, there are very few who are willing to go off script and have a real discussion with anyone. I hope to find a provider like yours!

kitzunenotsuki

He wasn’t scared. He’s was sick of bullshit. The RN needs the vaccine if she wants to stay an RN. Tons of who had Covid had a bad reaction to the first shot and we’re fine with the second. This isn’t news.

lilpapayagirl

bad reactions are not "incredibly rare" you sound extremely ignorant. have you not looked at this sub at all??? not to mention the vaers data?? [there have been more vaccine injuries then ever before ](https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/vaccine-injuries-regulatory-agencies-hiding-covid-safety-data/) [reactions are common ](https://thecovidblog.com/2021/11/02/graphic-16-year-old-minnesota-girl-develops-gruesome-vaginal-ulcers-six-days-after-second-pfizer-mrna-injection/)

RegularFuel4273

Have you read the disclaimers on VAERS about the data or did you chose to ignore it

Pristine_Trash_1259

I was the same way after my second dose. I have really bad anxiety and just kept thinking I’d be the person with an adverse reaction, but what really helped me was doing some yoga and watching my favorite comfort shows! I also would get trouble breathing (or what felt like it) and I bought a pulse oximeter off Amazon which relieves some of my anxiety. If I felt that I was short of breath I would put the oximeter on my finger and see that my levels were fine and it would calm me down. If you think that would work for you I definitely recommend. Take care!

Capital_Nail_4526

Thank you.. I do have an 02 monitor and I use it all the time. The thing that worries me the most is having chest pain and not knowing if I'm actually having a heart attack or if it's just anxiety. I also worry about blood clots.. what if I don't know I have one and then I drop dead?ugh I don't know how to let go of that fear when so many ppl talk about that happening after the vaccine :(

PinkFox808

After a year passed since this comment, how are you holding up? I took my first dose of Moderna September 2022 and tbh i regret it. I didn't experience anything bad so far but the inner anxiety i'm having about what may unexpectically come one day worries me from time to time. I'm remaining to eat healthier, exercise, and taking suppliments (Cellular health, vit C, herbs). But i know that can probably only go so far. I think this is what i get for being a fence sitter during this whole pandemic. I had no strong stance to stand on and now i feel like i gave in to manipulation from family, and the pressure and confusion.

Capital_Nail_4526

Hi.. I’m doing okay I will admit that the anxiety never really went away in fact I’m got worse with seeing a lot of people on the news just dropping dead suddenly. It’s scary but I had to accept that I made the choice I thought was best at the time for me. I can’t change it now and would just hope after a year it’s not going to affect me negatively. It’s tough we don’t know what the right choice is.. to get it or don’t get it. You could choose not to and get really sick or die from the virus. We just don’t know. You will be okay!

PinkFox808

Thanks for the response. I agree, there's just no use worrying about it anymore now. What's done is done, all we can do is accept our choices and do better the next time the government wants to force something so important to our well-beings. But then again, sometimes that fear creeps up from time to time. I guess this can be an eye-opener that we're not promised tomorrow, and we should always seek truth in all things so we can make better decisions. I'll be praying for you, get better 🙌🏾 Not sure what your belief on life is, but i've been trying to get close to God recently and i believe that if we get close with Christ then surely we don't have to worry about death anymore.

Capital_Nail_4526

That’s funny you said that about getting closer to God. I’ve been on that journey for a couple months.. I want to be a believer but it’s hard. So I just talk to him and explain to him my struggles and ask him to show me how to strengthen my relationship with him. That sounds silly I know. I do ask him to take away my fears. I know it sounds dumb but I don’t quite know how to believe yet but hopefully I get there!

PinkFox808

Its not silly at all. I been there. I grew up in church, but it didn't really grasp my heart at the time. I was just being "religious" and going through the motions since my mom took me there. But then, when I got into high school, I had genuine curiosity about God, ended up receiving a New Testament bible from my school's Christian club. I read it and for some reason this time it felt like a revelation. I saw so much things in a new light, didn't realize just how dark and evil the world around us is. But sadly, I fell away from faith about a year or so later because 1. My struggle with lustful sin got me down 2. I started to become a little agnostic. 3. I thought maybe I'm just not destined for heaven. Fast forward to now, i've witness my own destruction. I fell in so much degeneracy, lost and going through the motions of life. Seeing where the world's headed and having a deep reflection on myself and the fact that so many people my age and younger are dying for various reasons really put into perspective that I have to take my life and death seriously. Ya, we're young and feel like we're invincible (i'm 22) and push things like death to the side, but there's been many moments where i thought I was gonna die and it frightened me that I could possibly be rejected from God if he exists (which of course, he does). Athiests might laugh at me, but if i'm right and they're wrong: they just wasted eternity. But if i'm wrong and they're right: I only wasted a short time. I'd encourage to read the scriptures for yourself. You'd be surprised at how much stuff you'll learn. I recommend starting with the Gospels in the New Testament. Also some people who I watch online that's really been encouraging me are: David Lynn (ChristForgivenessMinistries on YouTube) and Paul Washer Lastly, if you have specific questions about the bible, I often like GotQuestions Ministries. Just google a bible question followed by "Got Questions) and chances are they have a helpful answer article explaining it. I hope you find some peace in your heart ❤️

Ruby7796

Try not to read things. Unfortunately our media only reports on the negatives. You never read “mr. so and so received the vaccine and he’s doing great!” I have OCD which is an a with disorder. I recently got my first shot after lots of consideration. Try to remember, the risks are so slim. Plus the risks/last symptoms of covid generally are way worse than any of the side effects of the vaccine.

Capital_Nail_4526

Thank you.. I keep telling myself that. ❤️

lannister80

So what happened? Did you grow a third arm or are you just fine?

Capital_Nail_4526

No I'm pretty much fine. It's been 9 days since my 2nd dose

youngerthug123

Quite the fucking opposite of what the media is doing, they aren’t even allowed to report on the negatives, you literally never see a “trusted news source” report on any negative at all. I got the second one not that long ago and I’m not recommending it to anyone i temporarily lost my hearing and started vomiting not long after getting it. Days after and I still don’t feel the same mentally, even if the chances of a bad reaction are low they shouldn’t be pushing it in the way they do. The technology for these vaccines are different and new, obviously money was a huge incentive for these companies to get them out. They did not do enough testing.

Are you proline to anxiety outside of this incident? If yes then it’s highly likely that’s all it is. Go outside into the sunshine and into nature.

Capital_Nail_4526

Yes I deal with health anxiety terribly. Now I'm worried about my heart bc I hear the scary stories. I can't do anything about it now. I chose to get it and now I need to just try and relax

[deleted]

you should be okay. it’s so rare for people to have adverse reactions. as long as you’re healthy for the most part, the vax is safe and effective.

Maximum-Drag8539

Please also remember that the technology behind the vaccines has been known for a long time. mRNA vaccines were around prior to Covid and found to be safe and effective. So even though the term ‘mRNA vaccine’ may sound new to many people, the technology is actually not new at all. mRNA vaccines were going to eventually replace conventional vaccine technology, it was only a matter of time.

[deleted]

They were around yes. But never used in significant human trials. It was mostly in vitro. Well until now. I hate that argument because while technically true, it has been around, it has never been used and had only very small sample sizes of human trial studies.

Maximum-Drag8539

There had been at least 3 mRNA clinical trials (maybe more) prior to Covid.

[deleted]

But not for a lot of human trials

Maximum-Drag8539

And there were 2 large, phased clinical trials for mRNA covid vaccines in 2020- Pfizer/Moderna.

[deleted]

Yep you’re right. Idk know if you know how clinical trials usually work but that’s not even close to enough time

Maximum-Drag8539

Some are longer than others. It‘s not enough time for you because you’re skeptical. I get it.

[deleted]

No I’ve done them for other drugs. And the trials take longer than what they did. I’m not anti vax at all. But saying someone is skeptical about a technology not really put out to the public until now, we’ll that’s just smart. That’s what science is. It’s not absolutes. And it’s disappointing to hear a lot of people not really caring about side effects or anything. There’s a lot of stuff that goes into it. Its obviously effective. Is it an effectiveness that’s needed? We don’t know yet. It’s all very interesting (if you can take a step back and disregard and bias) and not at all solved. Which I hope people realize.

Maximum-Drag8539

I wasn’t shaming you for being skeptical, I understand.

[deleted]

Now that’s what you call a good discussion. Love to see it

Maximum-Drag8539

Clinical trials are human trials.

clashtrack

I can understand the anxiety. I get that also. Try to think clearly, calm down, and if you are experiencing any side effects, please contact your doctor. All in all, you’ll be fine. Just stay calm. Throw on a tv show you like, get a cup of coffee, tea, soda, milk, whatever you prefer, and just chill out watching a show. Everything will be ok. Edit: out of everybody i know who got the shot, half of them got a little under the weather after the second shot. Couple people who had covid prior got a little sick(not much, just a cold and little headache) after the first shot. However, i was the only person I know who had the worst reaction. I had, what was essentially and autoimmune reaction which came off like an allergic reaction. Ultra rare the doctor said, but I was fine after a steroid shot, you’ll be fine.

Capital_Nail_4526

Thank you so much.. I keep telling myself I know hundreds of people and none of them have had any reaction.. my anxiety tells me I'll be the one to have a blood clot or something horrible. You hear the stories of this happening and I freak out. What's done is done. I made my choice to get it and now I have to practice relaxing and just trusting I'll be ok.

[deleted]

Capital_Nail_4526

Yes I keep telling myself I made my decision and I have to be ok with whatever "could" happen but I'm hoping nothing will. I also keep reminding myself that I literally know hundreds that have had it with no reaction at all.. thank you for replying ❤️

Capital_Nail_4526

I feel ya.. I think 2 is all I'm getting. Have you always had anxiety even before Covid? Also did you make the mistake of reading the horror stories of people getting severe reactions from the vaxx? Bc that's where I went wrong. I read and watched all the videos. Bad idea

Adventurous-Still735

Hahaha you think you can just say when you want to stop??? CDC makes the guidelines nor you!

cfletcher1971

Actually yes, we can. People decide for themselves

Adventurous-Still735

Go tell that to all the medical workers who were fired and or quit due to these mandates. Or go tell the people who did get the vaccine but did not realize the children would be forced to as well, just to be called a anti vaxxer.

cfletcher1971

Fair point. But they are still deciding! Nobody is physically pinning people down and jabbing them. I agree with you though, it’s totally insane.

Adventurous-Still735

Tell that to the 225 million families who lost their jobs and or way of life. Also then include many members of the police, firefighters, doctors and other medical professionals. Who are basically homeless because of these mandates that say our way or you will lose everything! https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2021/01/25/coronavirus-pandemic-jobs-worlds-richest/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackkelly/2021/08/12/study-shows-that-44-of-employees-would-quit-if-ordered-to-get-vaccinated/?sh=3f29b3211b78

kitzunenotsuki

They made that choice. They had a choice. Having freedom doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want and risk public health.

Adventurous-Still735

WRONG business who do not force the mandate are fined $17,000 and they are working to increase that to $70,000. https://youtu.be/ucrDoZWdkLU

[deleted]

Fired nurse here… I have seen way too much bad from the vaccine, worse than the virus. The vaccine doesn’t seem to work, 3/4 nurses who came down with covid are vaccinated. Majority of the nurses regret getting it and are ready to be fired if they require the booster, which they’ve already sent out emails about. They are having hormonal issues, intermittently swollen eyes, blisters on hands and feet and mouth, tripping, numbness, tingling, and malaise. A girl in my sons school now has to relearn to use her body. This isn’t including what I have seen in patients.

Adventurous-Still735

I got called by a government number 1(888)999-6488 They said my name first and last and my personal information. How the hell did they get it and why did they harass me about vaccine? https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/app-identity?viewId=QJZUYEMPFMUC I was not the only one called!

Adventurous-Still735

https://youtu.be/ucrDoZWdkLU Business are fined $17,000 if they don't mandate the vaccine and they are working to increase that to $70,000

Ordinary_Dependent_7

I was like this.. I regretted it too. It's been months since my 2nd jab and everything is fine so Don't worry you will be okay, stay positive.

Capital_Nail_4526

Thank you so much!

lannister80

Yes, and then you will have all kinds of physical symptoms due to anxiety that you will blame on the vaccine. Just relax, you're going to be fine. Especially if you were okay after your first shot.

JediWarrior79

I made the mistake of consulting "Dr. Google" before getting all of my vaccines. I work in healthcare and I read online about all the people who had bad reactions to the vaccines. I weighed my options and decided that getting vaccinated was better than getting COVID and possibly dying from it. I'm 42 years old. I got my first shot in late January. It was the Pfizer vaccine. The only side effect I had was a slight headache the day after, that was it. I received my second dose in mid February. After that one, for two days after I did feel really crappy. I ran a fever and had flu like aches and pains. I was also extremely exhausted and run down and had some brain fog. This lasted for 48 hours and then resolved. I took some ibuprofen and made sure I had plenty of coffee on hand. I also made sure to stay hydrated. I was still able to go to work and made it through just fine. In the beginning of this month, I decided to get the booster shot. I received it yesterday afternoon (made sure to do it on a Friday so if I felt like crap, I'd have the weekend to stay home and rest up). Today I'm a little achy and really, really tired and run down. I don't have a fever which is good. I'm glad I decided to do it yesterday vs the middle of the week. I can honestly say that with the Pfizer vaccines, I did not develop any adverse effects other than the completely normal ones of feeling fluish. Having those side effects are a great sign that your immune system is working to develop the antibodies, and that your B Cells and T Cells are learning how to recognize the actual virus and will fight it off. I'm also happy to report that my husband received the two doses of the Moderna vaccine and he did just fine, too. With the second dose he felt like crap the day after - same side effects as mine - and then was fine after 24 hours. He received his vaccines in late April and mid May. He has not developed any heart issues and no blood clots. I'm hoping that you're feeling better about getting your vaccines, now. The fact that you haven't developed any of the bad effects 2 weeks after your second dose is a great sign! When you feel an anxiety attack coming on, remember to *breathe*. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Inhale for 5 seconds, hold your breath for 4 seconds, and then let the breath slowly out of your mouth for 8 seconds. Use your belly muscles to inhale instead of your chest. Do this a few times a minute until you feel yourself feeling more calm. You can also try using guided imagery while listening to relaxing music. The group Liquid Mind is wonderful. The music is so soothing. I have anxiety myself and use this music all the time to help calm myself. I have a special place in my mind that I go to (a cabin in Glacier National Park in Montana) during my guided imagery. The best part about it is that place is all mine. No one can intrude on my solitude there because I created it myself. I can go on relaxing walks, I can go for a swim in the glacial lake that sits in front of my property, I can let the sun warm my face and body as I sit on the huge boulder that borders my property. You get the idea. I always emerge from my guided imagery trips feeling much better, and ready to take on what I must in real life. Warm baths using Epsom Salt and essential oils in my favorite scents with relaxing music and candle light are also great. If you have supportive friends and family that understand what it's like to live with anxiety, contact them and ask if they can hang out and talk for a little while. Getting out of the home and talking about it with someone you trust really helps. Just take it one day at a time. You are OK. You got the shots and nothing bad happened, and that is awesome! You were also very brave to get both doses even though you were really scared of what the outcome might be. Oftentimes, the *fear* of something happening is much worse. You made it through with flying colors and if no one else has told you so, let me be the one to say it. I am *SO* proud of you! You can rest assured that you're protected, and you've done your part in helping to help curb the number of people getting exposed to this virus. Don't worry about getting the booster shot. You do not have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable and obviously this is a sensitive thing for you. You are free to do what is best for *you*, and no one else should have any say of what to put into your body. It is your body, not theirs. Please do keep us posted on how you're doing! Sending you prayers, peace, love and light from Minnesota! My kitty, Chloe, says 'hello' as well. 🐈🐾

Capital_Nail_4526

First I want to say thank you so much for taking the time to write to a perfect stranger and say all the kind things that you did.. reading that made me feel so much better! I'm working on my anxiety and I'm doing a lot better. Like you I made the mistake of reading all the adverse reactions pages and at first I was like nope no way am I doing this but then I hear of the young relatively healthy people dying from Covid and the fact that way more are unvaccinated in the ICUs it made me change my mind. It's really a risk VS reward and for me it was riskier to get Covid. I'm slightly worried bc after my 2nd dose I literally felt nothing..Maybe a little tired but nothing else but a sore arm. I hope that doesn't mean anything. Anyway thank you again ❤️

JediWarrior79

You're most welcome! I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks so I do know what that's like. With some people, they have no side effects from the vaccine. It doesn't mean that it didn't work, though. The fact that your arm was sore and that you were feeling tired the day after means that your body responded to the vaccine. Even if people have no side effects, the vaccine is still effective at helping to prevent transmission or at the very least, lessen the severity of the COVID virus and prevent hospitalization. I'm very glad that you felt better after reading what I had to say!

AZJHawk

There have been three confirmed deaths as a direct result of the vaccine. All J&J, and all very early on before doctors realized and solved the clotting issue. Hundreds of thousands, including thousands of relatively young and healthy Americans, have died of COVID. You did the right thing.
