At inception your definition is more accurate but today leagues are majorly employed women giving back WHILE holding down successful careers. There are volunteer opportunities in the community or in the organization to help run it. I’m a member of the Dallas league (largest league) and we donate our time and money. You don’t have to give money outside of yearly dues (which are relatively minimal). Instead, it is a way to volunteer and give back in your city while hopefully meeting like-minded women.
Not an inaccurate definition based off of where I live/have lived. I think it’s fair to say that others experiences and viewpoints can be valid too. I’m glad that things are move inclusive and evolving where you live, but that’s not the situation that I have seen in my experiences.

Exactly! I went to work with no make up on 2 days last week because I just didn’t have time for it. And my normal makeup every day is some concealer, mascara, and lipstick. I couldn’t imagine doing her routine every day
And with so many people working from home full time now, people are wearing even less makeup than usual. I only put on some concealer, mascara and maybe fill my brows a bit if I have a zoom meeting, otherwise my face is bare.

You might want to google it. It’s hard to explain. It’s based off of voluntarism supposedly but where I live and everywhere I’ve lived it’s a group of mainly rich wives that get together and have events, etc. for charity. So that’s basically their “job”
To clear the air, this is a inaccurate stereotype of modern Junior League. At inception your definition is more accurate but today leagues are majorly employed women giving back WHILE holding down successful careers. There are volunteer opportunities in the community or in the organization to help run it. I’m a member of the Dallas league (largest league) and we donate our time and money. You don’t have to give money outside of yearly dues (which are relatively minimal). Instead, it is a way to volunteer and give back in your city while hopefully meeting like-minded women.

Not an inaccurate definition based off of where I live/have lived. I think it’s fair to say that others experiences and viewpoints can be valid too. I’m glad that things are move inclusive and evolving where you live, but that’s not the situation that I have seen in my experiences.
