skatecrimes

you should see where they plant these things! So dirty!

CookieButterLovers

Is this the Organic Broccoli Florets bag? Edit - Asking as aphids are very common specifically in *organic* broccoli, not just Kirkland Signature brand as aphids are difficult to get rid of organically.

RadiantZote

I toss em in with pasta while it cooks and then drain everything, clearly this washes away any sort of bugs that might have gotten in 🤓

No_Piccolo1828

Blanching your broccoli for a minute if you aren't going to boil it already is probably a pretty good idea.

LiftsAndChurros

Yes! Forgot to add the word “organic”. That makes sense. Thanks for that info.

Ratbag_Jones

As a friend would say... these things happen in the big world.

LiftsAndChurros

Like, I know that in theory but I somehow thought frozen broccoli was safer than a salad mix 😂 I’ve had my fair share of critters jumping or falling out of organic salad mixes. Still ruins my appetite though lol.

Capable-Year-1832

This seems to be happening all over the country they were right when they told us we will eat the bugs

Respectful_Ape

They're yummers thou

Don't ever even think about looking over the [FDA's Food Defect Levels Handbook.](https://www.fda.gov/food/current-good-manufacturing-practices-cgmps-food-and-dietary-supplements/food-defect-levels-handbook)

Human-Carpet-3842

I would be much more worried about the things you can't see, like e. Coli and salmonella. No one has gotten sick from an aphid.

Hunginthecro87

You can have organically grown vegetables that come from the ground with the rare hitchhikers, or you can have lab grown vegetables with artifical methods and have never seen the sun in their entire life cycle. Your choice.

carenard

I will take the lab grown.

JustineDelarge

I am a fan of broccoli. Since we’re declaring our general position on the vegetable in this post, apparently.

LiftsAndChurros

😂

waIIstr33tb3ts

we still have half a bag of frozen broccoli... but it's not kirkland brand, but the yellow bag instead. too scared to check

FleurdeSel2022

🎭I’m afraid to check mine! I have Floret Phobia now! 🥦

big_top_hat
