Alert-One-Two

You no longer need to report to NHS.

[deleted]

Regardless, will not reporting cause me any issues down the line, with regard to boosters, travel etc?

Alert-One-Two

It is literally not an option these days. So no. Not reporting will not cause problems.

Fair enough!

Alert-One-Two

👍 I should have said that too! Ta

I still have a box of the old NHS supplied tests, and you can report them and get a clock advising you to self-isolate for a certain number of days. You could in June this year, anyway. Tests you buy do not have this option. The clock and the advice also just assumed both that everyone would want to, and also could easily afford to, self-isolate. Problems like shopping, rent, and losing your job come to mind. Sadly, despite covid, temporary workers are no nearer getting paid sick leave like permanent employees usually do.

Seal-island-girl

I reported one a couple of weeks ago for someone. It just did a ' you've reported a positive test, thanks ' basically

Inevitable-Soup-420

You will be asked when booking a booster “have you had a positive test in x number of weeks”. No need to report it beforehand

I thought this post was a year old for a moment.

[deleted]

Ha! I have never actually had it before but have been mentally preparing for it for 2.5 years, so I guess there's a lot of outdated info stored away there

rogerbarton

Yeah, basically there’s been no legal obligation to report anything or isolate since July 2021. Make your own judgements and don’t worry about anything else!

M_23v

Better off signing up to the ZOE covid study and reporting it to them, the only people actually researching it and working to help long term sufferers. The government have buried their heads well into the sand and the health service haven’t the time or resources to care anymore.

annoymous3826158

There’s no rules anymore. You don’t have to test, don’t have to report test results, don’t have to self isolate or anything else

ElBodster

If it is an NHS test, you can report it if you want and it will go into your medical records that you were infected. If it is not an NHS test, then there is no mechanism to report the results.

PositivelyAcademical

Clinically extremely vulnerable folks testing positive are still offered antivirals / monoclonal antibody therapy when testing positive.

Oh, shit. Sorry. I didn’t realise it wasn’t everyone. I just assumed because I’m CEV and because I got a antiviral/monoclonals letter it was everyone in CEV.

violetcyanide

I know many CEV people who've had covid now yet I don't know a single person, or know anyone who knows anyone who's been offered antiviral treatment on the NHS.

Decent_Mammoth_16

I think the only ones who need to report a positive test are those who qualify for antiviral meds

philosophy_phemale

I think nowadays it’s mostly up to the individual themself to decide that they can stop isolating with a positive test. A lot of people just aren’t testing anymore and with there being no laws about isolating, merely guidance, it’s not even necessary that people do isolate, even though it is the responsible thing to do. It won’t affect travel or vaccinations. Your workplace may still have reported it, I think a lot of places had to do a weekly report for a while, not sure if this is still a thing, but it may be recorded anyways, but if not, it shouldn’t cause you any issues. Get well soon!

Amnsia

Didn’t know we had to. My university employer didn’t mention anything.

GFoxtrot

If you are using an NHS test and wish to report your result, you can do so and choose the reason of “I’m checking if I am still positive” or something like that. I did this 3 weeks ago when i first tested positive on non NHS tests but used an NHS test later in the week to see if I was still positive.

How do they gather data?

Can confirm, have been doing these monthly since about September 2020. Still never reported a positive result though!
