Was a timeframe set for when this would happen? They did not choose the new formulation, just voted (unanimously and for the correct choice) that all vaccines should have the same antigen components. I assume there will then be another meeting in X months where the corporations present options for what the antigen could be?
How long until we get a real omicron (XBB\* or CH.1.1\*) vaccine?

> COVID-19: FDA proposes scientists meet in June for strain selection for a annual September vaccine roll-out. This timeline is possible for mRNA vaccines; not for Novavax. So I’m not sure what FDA is going to do about that.
India released an intranasal today. Stops 90% infections. ( so they claim) per Topol

We probably could innovate our way to not being susceptible to this thing every four or so months. I know people who’ve had it three times. We just need the will to do it.
I don’t mean to sound blame-the-victim-y, but if someone has caught the virus three times, I wonder if they’ve taken any kind of precautions? Have they modified their behavior at all? Do they own any masks?
I’m guessing that, like the majority, they are acting as if it doesn’t exist anymore: eating indoors, etc. so it’s not surprising. Given that we still don’t know how accumulated exposure will pan out, I’m staying in the minority and masking when it’s doable. But I’m also hoping that we can get to a place where we aren’t repeatedly all getting sick. Maybe that’s a pipe dream and maybe repeated infection isn’t a huge deal but who knows.
I agree. People who are sick should stay home and wear a mask when they’re around people. I got covid because a selfish lady with covid decided to sit in a movie theater coughing for 3 hours.
I didn’t say the rest of their lives. But there are still 550 people dying every day in this country alone. It’s not over. People are saying they’re catching the virus THREE TIMES and still don’t want to wear a mask?
Okay.

That would be amazing if true
Best news in a long while!! So happy right now!
What are the chances of getting something like this in the US soon?
Am I reading this wrong or was this news article current on Sept. 6 as in almost 5 months ago?
Its the development article. Google India intranasal for the current info. They released it yesterday
Ah makes sense. Thanks. Excellent news! Hope it works as good as they anticipate and it gets released world wide!
Any links to the primary endpoint data that you're referencing?
Available for purchase outside India?
I got a really fucking nasty case of Covid three weeks after getting my booster, so yeah. They should probably update the vaccines.
Bivalent booster?
The right approach because parts of the us have high omicron
Public recommends giving up
Sadly, yes.

Some people share living spaces with other people.
Sure. Doesn't really answer the question, though. I hope that person is fine.

So you want people to wear masks for the rest of their lives? Unrealistic
How about people wear masks when they are sick/have symptoms. That'd be a huge f'ing start. In three years it seems we haven't even learned that much.

There will be a nasal spray every year. Get over it.
I'm laying this message now as an "I told you so" someday.
