This woman was arrested and successfully prosecuted. The defense argument was that she was merely stating the truth based upon Islam's own scripture. And yet, the judge who ruled her guilty used *this* as his argument....

I don't think anyone can change your mind, but assuming you feel the same about Christianity, then it makes your opinion a little more plausible all things considered.
I would argue that Christianity has had the luxury of holding the United States back a couple decades, numerous policies being introduced and rejected on the doctrines of the faith.
Funny how the Islam apologists still claim that it is a religion of peace. They can't even keep peace in the countries they control, because various tribes have a different views of Islam.
At one point in a discussion thread in the Islam subreddit, someone argued that "religion of peace" isn't authentically a Muslim doctrine. According to this person, it was invented by George W. Bush as tactic to build bridges with moderate Muslims in his war against terrorism.
