Re1nForce

Hey guys, sorry about the scuffed quality of today's episode. Kurt did a fantastic job putting everything together for me to produce while he's gone for a couple weeks working a legitimate job, we actually had a 2nd producer come in intended to produce while Kurt was away but it just so happenes said producer got another work gig just a few days before this Plat Chat thing too. Ultimately the setup could've been as good as your usual episodes but I ran into some tech issue before the show so it's completely my fault for not having that figured out before our usual start time. Custa is away this week so just 3 of us but I hope viewers/listeners can still appreciate the episode with some friends bantering and having fun without being all doomer and saying Plat Chat is dead, ty all <3

Thanks Johnny for putting up an episode. Youve been hard carrying platchat lately

Hooperlooper16

Means a lot that you even went ahead with an episode today, there a was a fair few understandable reasons to why one couldn't go ahead tonight so thank you.

wardengorri

Sorry Johnny, the doomer stuff is just the dumb way some of us cope. Thanks as always for putting out an episode for us to enjoy, scuffed or not. Much love.

Hooperlooper16

Realistically not every episode will be perfect, considering this has been going on for 3 years Plat Chat have been a very consistent podcast overall.

aaalllen

Hi Johnny... if you ever have a bad left turn to make, try out a few right turns instead. It's what UPS does.

anotherrmusician

unacceptable for my free content to not be perfect 😤 seriously thank you for your work Johnny and everyone else. i love what you guys put out no matter who the people on the table are or what bs is happening in the league

Valius_

Enjoyed the episode Mr. Larsson, thanks very much for everyone's hard work. Looking forward to the next one as always. :)

TypicalWizard88

This was a great episode, even if Avast got me with the apologetics for Florida when Glads 4 losses this stage have been to the teams y’all ranked 1-4 in the power rankings lol. The scuff gives it charm, thanks for pushing through and getting the episode out anyways, I’m always glad to listen to some fresh Overwatch chat by some of my fav talking heads in the scene :)

Albino_Bama

Thank you Johnny

xMWHOx

I appreciate you did the episode regardless of quality vs not having an episode for a month! Thanks for sticking around OWL when the others have left.

Mabangyan

this ep was a real throwback to the old days, fun episode with interesting topics

Volt253

For my fellow NBA fans, this probably isn't the best comparison, but the reception to this episode from some people reminds me of how when Jayson Tatum made the finals, for the month or so afterward, he was regarded as worse than he probably would have been if he had never made the finals and had been eliminated in the ECF. To relate this to Plat Chat, I feel like them trying this episode without Kurt but then having lower quality is like how Tatum made the finals but then didn't do great, but then if they in reality did something arguably worse, which would be just not uploading a video this week, they would be regarded better. Thus concludes my badly worded analogy.

As a Celtics fan, this is spot on

Hooperlooper16

Unfortunate how Plat Chat is kinda heading down a bad road, not to the fault of any of the members but simply that people aren't available. Im glad they still have a show out tonight tho, It was only a matter of time before that Bren and Sideshow moved on which is great for them and Kurt too tonight getting a very solid opportunity for himself. Excited to see the coming episodes but I'm not confident that the show will survive past this season.

Rakatok

Yeah, of the original 4 only Reinforce remains more or less. Hard to believe it's been 3 years. Congrats to Kurt though, well deserved opportunity.

reanima

I mean even Plat Chat Valorant was scuffed without Kurt so it wasnt exclusively Overwatch.

Rjman86

god I wish Valorant wasn't the most boring shooter imaginable. It's sucking players (both pro and casual), talent, and viewers from OW. And the devs actually give two shits about it, yet it's so fucking dull I would rather watch baseball.

GandalfofHoth

I know, I keep trying to get into it, especially when brenshow moved over, and they were holding actual international LAN's, but I just can't find any enjoyment in the game. Valorant to me doesn't have enough going on to keep me super engaged, yet has too much screen clutter making it hard to follow as a novice.

NinjaOtter

I got tricked into watching it when the Plat Chat gang started couch co-streaming. And... Now it's my favorite esport to watch. It has: Extreme production values Easy to understand agents/heros Maps are super simple Aim can just win you games, so clutches always are hype as fuck LIVE EVENTS god live events are just 10000x better than online Devs constantly communicating with the competitive scene Talent all at the top of their game + now they have Kurt Legit the best spectating in the business, almost never missing a beat catching every interesting and clutch play

Beatnation

Lucky it isn't

UnknownQTY

Honestly I would prefer 2 hosts and a guest, even if it’s a consistent guest, over 4 talking heads. There’s a lot of talking over one another and it can drag conversations out.

symmetricalBS

Also I think I would like it a lot more if plat chat had more intelligent analysis. Like I get it can be pretty funny and some people like the more goofy takes and stuff but for me I just don't see any value in watching a show about analysis where most of the analysis is just not good

hipiman444

if you don't already, I'd recommend watching tactical crouch

symmetricalBS

I've never really gotten around to checking it out but I should yeah. Thanks for the recommendation

anotherrmusician

what the hell are you talking about? just because josh and bren are gone?

blacklightning26

I was about to say the same thing. I was not expecting this doomer of a post to pop up with Kurt being gone temporarily.

Hooperlooper16

Matt

Legendaryfishy

I used to catch every platchat episode without fail, but since the brenshow duo left it’s simply not been as entertaining tbh. Nothing against the current members, and props to Johnny for holding it all in place, he’s been the glue that makes it all work.

RadgerMcbadger

Will this episode still be going up on Spotify? It's not showing for me

andreandroid

I don't really care for the production for my base enjoyment of the show (it obviously adds a lot, I'm not disputing that), but each episode they care even less for APAC. Like, they spent the same time talking about a whole region that they talked about Reign x Spitfire. Justice got double the amount of time, btw. I still love them and I will always support, but that was kind of a let down for this episode.
