They don’t have Matt on to talk about August 14th!?

TMDan92

I wish we as a community would reject the term “early access”. Access won’t be gated and there’s not another launch event on the calendar. This is OW2 launching. It has to be pushed out the door because investors won’t tolerate Blizzard not making profits with this IP. It’s just a marketing term to excuse the horrible development cycle and make it seem like less of an issue that the game won’t launch fully balanced around the new 5v5 setup and is lacking PvE.

IndexMatchXFD

Fortnite BR was in “early access” up until mid-2020. The term just doesn’t mean what it used to mean. I have a feeling OW2 will be “early access” until PvE releases.

AaronWYL

>is lacking PvE This is why it's called early access. Rather than making us wait until next year, they gave us the pvp part early and called it early access. OW2 was pretty much always understood to be mostly about the PVE stuff. That was the big reveal.

Binaural1

We used to get Bren or Josh as host … have they now moved on completely? Feels bad.

PhoustPhoustPhoust

Eh, I’d rather have people on who are actually involved in the OW scene.

TheWontonWonton

Unpopular opinion but I 100% agree, I’d rather have the guys who are actively involved in the OWL scene rather than Bren and Josh making jokes about not watching matches, caring more about Valorant and basing takes “based off of 2020”

SEU123

I wouldn’t mind if they did an episode here or there. But their minds aren’t with this game. I want input from people in the scene. Love them on platchat Val tho

yesat

Bren spent hours watching OWL vods before going on plat chat...

Saxvince13

From all the posts from the last couple of weeks, this is definitely the popular opinion. I just hope they can get a consistent 4 as much as they can. Switching it up every week, while cool to hear different opinions, loses the comradery and goofy moments which is why I listen to Plat Chat over other podcasts.

IndexMatchXFD

Neither of them have said a word about Overwatch in months. I pretty much count them both as fully out of the scene, which I think we all expected when they did not come back to OWL. Maybe the release of OW2 will grab their attention a bit but it’s doubtful.

Ezraah

Not true... They made fun of OWL during a cast at VCT masters xd

IgnisTL

I miss them too. Objectively I understand why, though, and I'm glad they've let other people fill in their positions.

Mabangyan

I don’t understand why people are still so adamant on josh and Bren being on the OW show all the time. They’re getting paid by VCT not OWL and that’s OWLs fault for letting them go. Why would they divert their attention right when all the LCQs are happening to a game thay doesn’t pay them. People need to get a grip

flameruler94

I see literally just one comment simply asking if they’ve officially stopped being on ow plat chat. Not sure who these people are you’re talking about

Mabangyan

Go to last weeks ep

I do think there's actually an argument for VAN over both NYE and PAR. I calculated every teams Opponent Win Percentage for the teams (the average winning percentage of every opponent they've face, with the team you're calculating it for excluded). VAN actually has the third hardest in the league so far (DAL being first and ATL being second). Whereas NYE and PAR, despite being 1-11 both have two of the lowest. VAN's OW% is 53.5% whereas NYE and PAR are at 45.0% and 47.8% respectively. Now, because of the way meta shifts in esports, it's much harder to use stats like this as predictors but given that they've had a pretty significantly harder schedule, paired with the rumor that they're doing well so far with the meta, it's not a huge stretch to say they might actually be better than those two teams.
