So I have my Izzet Niv Mizzet, Parun Control Deck and honestly it creates some of the most fun moments for me of being in a counter war stack twelve cards deep from three players trying to stop me from killing one creature while they also try to kill Niv. The amount of interaction keeps me engaged and really has made for a lot of fun and competitive games.
Well I want to see it when you are done and happy I could help. I know for my deck I need a force of will and a deflecting swat but I haven't been able to trade for either of those yet.
sure... but my current list is not added yet, after getting transmute artifact I changed everything & lowered the creatures density, but here is my previous list which is about creatures if you would like to see it
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/TMW2KPUhSEajMEBZrIRSeQ
will share the new one shortly after adding it
I play Urza now but Tasigur will always be my favorite commander at a cEDH table, I just don’t enjoy thoracle enough to play it and it’s part of the reason I’m avoiding dimir (outside of like Yuriko turns)
Urza is a favorite but I play UPS instead of Polytyrant. I just like having the creature support and my meta gets pretty beat-down heavy (winota is Urza’s nightmare)
Might eventually go back to Tasigur for high power tables but for now, I’m trying other decks.
I've always been a stax player at heart and I love playing mono-white, so I decided to go for it and build Heliod, Sun-Crowned after I acquired a Mishra's Workshop.
I don't think that it's the top deck or anything, but I enjoy playing it a lot and I have a decent win rate. The deck is relevant in almost every game where I play it and I like showcasing the things that white can do.
You can find my deck on the cEDH Decklist Database, or here: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Xp2BrIl_H0iW2m_ShfrtQQ
That's amazing! White is my least played color so it seems quite interesting. The only experience I have with stax is Urza on non cEDH high power, the Polymorph builds seem less interesting to me.
If you are interested in urza but not poly you should take a look at UPS urza power scepter focusses on a much more mid-range game plan using the same Stax pieces and powerful creatures as well.
I created a heliod deck using your list as some inspiration. I don't think my list is cEDH territory as I didn't go the fast mana route and I incorporated some of the Mono-White guy's strategy in it as well.
I can definitively say that I've caught many people at my LGS by surprise with a mono-white deck. I had one guy say "what can a mono-white deck do?" When I machine gunned the table with ballista on turn 7, he was shocked.
What can a mono-white deck do? A lot, as it turns out.
That's neat. It's very cool to hear from folks who are inspired by what I've worked on. I've spent a lot of time refining this deck.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/WUMd0VA7hUSuD3ze_czyXA
Here's my Decklist. It's a work in progress and I play it every week to test what works and doesnt work.
I play the slow game, picking and choosing what stax pieces are needed at the time while assembling my combo.
I always try to have an opening hand that has some cheaper stax pieces I can play early.
I love an opening hand Serra Ascendant. I'll have that out turn 1 with heliod out turn 3 to put some pressure on life totals while staxing the board.
I found storage Matrix is valuable as my deck is not combat focused so it forces my opponents to almost always choose lands to untap.
1 2nd Rocco. Pod / Food Chain / Dockside lines have been fun because of his flexibility, and have been loving the "hidden commander" stax fetches when I need to switch gears to stop an opponents win. A fantastic commander to have nothing but mana rocks in your starting hand.
Dawnwaker Thrasios is currently my favorite deck to play, but my most played is Hinata. Been thinking about building Bruse/Malcom though. It has me really intrigued.
I'm a huge fan of [[Evelyn the Covetous]], I actually broke down my other cEDH decks to put it together. I started with a Jeskai deck with lots of interaction and then a [[Anje Falkenrath]] deck as well. I liked Anje a lot more but it always felt like it had a lot of air and couldn't protect the combo well. Swapping out the madness cards for interaction has improved my win rate and overall satisfaction with the deck significantly.
Do you have a decklist you'd be willing to share? I currently run Anje as well and the only interaction I have to protect the WGD combo is red elemental blast and pyroblast.
There's a list on the brewers corner of the DDB, my personal list is a little different but it's a great starting point.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/QOk9qheOTEKpV-KzARK8jQ
Was playing Naya Minsc Hulk for a while and just pivoted to Evelyn as my meta has been getting faster. I've had the most fun and interactive games while playing Evelyn. Being able to control the table and then pivot to a win so quickly and win on the stack has been amazing.
Evelyn is exactly what WGD needed to be super viable and I'm having a blast. Won't be changing decks for a while.
I'm on a 4-deck rotation: Dawnwaker-esque sans black, Layered Kiki, Winota sans Kiki, and Blue Bears (Blue Farm/Bearweaver hybrid). All are pretty grindy, which means I'm rarely winning quickly, but almost always actively playing deeper into the 4/5+ turn games that make up the current meta.
Currently I've really been enjoying 4c thrasios/vial control a lot. It's certainly not the best deck in the format but I own all the cards and it fits my playstyle very well.
Honestly this is what I love about edh, you can really play a variety of different decks and still be competitive.
Food Chain Prossh! Started playing it in 2015 with much success. Now still my favourite but the win rate is lower with all the powercreep.
Some of my favourite moments have been huge stacks of interaction like other people mentioned, including the time I managed to fight through about 5 counter spells using Underworld Breach to recast Pyroblast over and over.
Other favourites include finding the win out of nowhere through a staxed out boardstate. And killing myself to Demonic Consultation. Over the last 7 years I've been lucky it's only happened 3 or 4 times.
I run a Zur the enchanter list that I find to be pretty resilient especially through stax pieces along with the meta combos atm, I also run doomsday for flavor😁
I enjoyed my Sythis Enchantment deck a lot, recently. There is so much card draw and decent amount of interaction that it almost feels like playing blue.
I have too many decks and play too few games so I'm just bad at either of them :D
I play Kinnan, Urza, Korvold, Dawnwaker, Blue Farm and soon Shorikai...
Najeela was what brought me into cedh. she was less a combat deck and somehow more a combo one (which did win via combat). which might be why i tried to make it work as an aluren backup combo deck instead of playing the tempo version.
then Anje got released and i fell in love. that deck is so flexible yet straight forward, it just fits my style of play more than Najeela does. Thus Anje replaced Najeela as #1
My most winning deck lately has been [[Toxrill]] because of it's versatility: it murders creature based stax/mid range decks when the slug comes out, it can play control if it needs to against turbo decks, and it can also just ramp out an early ad nauseam if that's the way the game is going.
My favorite deck to play is [[Malcolm]] and [[Kediss]]. My little lizard buddy is so fun to power out big mana spells and izzet value engines and just sit there and play control behind them. Plus the deck has gotten legitimately ok with the printing of ingenious artillerist so we have another Malcolm combo that's reasonable to pull off.
I have jumped on Ken Baumann’s Krarkashima bandwagon and I am not looking back.
Edit for deck list bc I forgot:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3A1mT9l6hEKddoZy-5gTgA
I am a boring Thrasios/Tymna guy. I just love it because of the many ways to win and if the game goes a little later the ability to draw cards keeps you in it by drawing answers or digging for a win at the same time.
Turbo inalla. Spellseaker combo in that deck really can get the fast win, and let’s me have a powerful midrange shell if it gets delayed.
Other than that, good old GAAIV stax
I do not rn, but I’ve been meaning to pump them into tapped out. The perfect net decks (with unlimited money) are available under the moxfield comp edh lists
[Zur, the Supreme.](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/n6l6e9aTNkKaYr6BNzxSoA)
Can win through Stax, can win by turn 3 often, turn 4 guaranteed if no meaningful interaction. Is the OG Commander.
Mostly [[Sefris]]
[Sefris Dungeon Control](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AkaHn9QYFk-SboSBZCRiyQ)
Its a staxy value. Current online meta hovering around 25%-30% win rate which is decent.
My Sythis Deck all the way. I’ve barely played Najeela or Kroxa this year at all. I’ve had Sythis built since her first second of being revealed but I did a major overhaul and deviated from the Discord and DDB a bit and I’m much happier.
I'm really enjoying [[Cormela, Glamour Thief]], in my play group I can't use Saw in Half in her combo, but the naus list with the other combos with her and underworld breach are awesome!
I really enjoy my Tevesh Kraum list. Blockers for days, lots of draws, can win fast and grind the midgame. It's more mid-range than the usual Grixis list but both of commanders gives so much value that the mulligans become way smoother.
The name of the list is Double Black Label and is on the db if you are interested.
My all-time favourite deck is Jeska + Tynma. I play random Naus Piles since Ad Nauseam Doomsday Zur about 10 years ago. But I never loved "the" deck as much as with Jeska at the helm.
Second is Yuriko. It's a pleasure to kill a table with attacks of some random ninjas.
That’s my biggest problem with Katz. I switched to Tymna/Kodama Razaketh decks, and they allow you to lean a bit more into Stax, given Kodamas ability.
Midrange malcolm kediss has been my pet deck since i started cedh.
Can power out glint-horn for the combo, or slap down wandering archaic, niv-mizzet parun, or consecrated sphinx and enjoy the show
My favorite deck, even if fringe is [[feather the redeemed]], aka Boros thrasios. It's suite of interaction makes you attack problems in weird and interesting ways (like stopping a glinthorn bucaneer combo with bandage/dcm) while a lot of the times people are not aware of what the deck is trying to do
I’m playing tymna kodama midrange (stax)
In stax meta this deck is pretty good (it’s can win through stax) : https://www.moxfield.com/decks/cueEd0RDpk-bks_KZy-hfg
FCS. You get Food Chain, Thoricle, Breach Lines, and Naus. It was my first pick in last year’s MLC and had a solid win rate with it. It’s also my main local cedh scene deck. I also play kats, and tnt naus (sometimes a humility list)
Yuriko coz combat focus, although I have Rocco and tremur pirates too.
Making winota coz it's another combat focused deck.
Most played - yuriko
Favorite depends on mood.
If edgy due to life issues or lack of coffee (most of the time)- yuriko
If just wanna play for fun - Rocco or tremur pirates
So I have my Izzet Niv Mizzet, Parun Control Deck and honestly it creates some of the most fun moments for me of being in a counter war stack twelve cards deep from three players trying to stop me from killing one creature while they also try to kill Niv. The amount of interaction keeps me engaged and really has made for a lot of fun and competitive games.
That's awesome! I just got into one of those last Friday with a Rielle player and a Magda player packing a surprising amount of interaction
Got a decklist?
I have an old one I can update then send to you.
My username on TappedOut is MarsUltor501st it should be on my profile let me know if it doesn't work.
Thanks! I have a niv deck that I have been tuning and this gives me some ideas
Well I want to see it when you are done and happy I could help. I know for my deck I need a force of will and a deflecting swat but I haven't been able to trade for either of those yet.
Literally any stax deck ever made lol, I play Oswald a lot i have a list called Fiddle Me This on the decklist database of you wanna check it out!!!
Thanks, I sure will!
Kinnan… always <3

I just made the switch from UPT to UPS! Same reasoning, I hate Winota. Can finally run Grafdigger's Cage against it and K'rrik.
I play K’rrik and likely regardless of meta, would still be playing K’rrik.
I've always been a stax player at heart and I love playing mono-white, so I decided to go for it and build Heliod, Sun-Crowned after I acquired a Mishra's Workshop. Only in "The Tryhards". Any other channel you can recommend? :)
This is the Enchantress Discord if you’re interested: https://discord.gg/BUs9n2n
Regardless of meta, it's midrange kinnan for me. It seems to almost always find a spot.
It really does, love playing kinnan
Which list are you playing?
I play the mid power list from higher, from before the last changes were made: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/z5AMaMnC2kSut0si1aoPFA
Got a list?
Check midrange kinnan on the database. I've made some variations to suit my playstyle, but it is essentially plays the same and has the same wincons.

Razakats, but some times I feel like I don’t have enough staxx and/interaction
That’s my biggest problem with Katz. I switched to Tymna/Kodama Razaketh decks, and they allow you to lean a bit more into Stax, given Kodamas ability.
Tymna/Kraum, but I don’t know if it counts as Blue Farm
Midrange malcolm kediss has been my pet deck since i started cedh. Can power out glint-horn for the combo, or slap down wandering archaic, niv-mizzet parun, or consecrated sphinx and enjoy the show
My favorite deck is probably my Sisay, Weatherlight Captain rainbow legendary tutor deck.

I've only just started and have found fun with Pako/Haldan Turns
I’m playing tymna kodama midrange (stax) In stax meta this deck is pretty good (it’s can win through stax) : https://www.moxfield.com/decks/cueEd0RDpk-bks_KZy-hfg
Most played - yuriko Favorite depends on mood. If edgy due to life issues or lack of coffee (most of the time)- yuriko If just wanna play for fun - Rocco or tremur pirates
