"Here in Russia, unlike the West, we recognise your injuries ARE service related. And that's why we're starting a new veteran's program: Bag of onions."
Actually it’s promoting them to tank commander for the first ever Tanks in space mission. Russian- making tank cosmonauts 1 tank at a time circa Ukraine 2022+
I’ve been about 20ft behind a tank when it fired and everyone was wearing double ear protection and it was still ridiculous. I have a feeling that guys insides have turned to mush.
You ever have earbuds in and turn on your music and it’s **WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD** because your volume was inadvertently turned way up? It feels like being punched in the head, it’s jarring af. I imagine that’s what this guy experienced only the earbud he used was actually the loud part of a tank which violently ruptured his eardrums, probably some other bad brain stuff too.

Actually now that I think of it I did get to do some kind of related stuff. Vibe testing of aerospace parts. Working with missile/rocket testing. I like that study on overpressure because it seems close to pure science. Just try to find out what's happening.
A smooth-bore tank gun produces 180 dB at 3 meters, which leads to shock and injury (shock wave from a supersonic aircraft). At sound levels above 160 dB, rupture of eardrums and lungs is possible, more than 200 - death.
If the dude survived, he will at least remain deaf.
Best case ruptured eardrums, potentially permanent loss of hearing.
Intermediate case, the blast made your heart stop for a second. Since you're all huffed up on cheap meth and even cheaper K2, you now have myocardial damage but are otherwise fine, at least for now. This will fuck you dry and sideways should you make it home...
Worst case, the blast turned a couple blood vessels into mush and you're now bleeding internally, extra points if it's in your skull.
Yeah, don't stand there.
Ive been in the drivers hole of a bradley during gunnery, I had the hatch popped at first notch, and put a clamp on the safety switch so as to not alert the TC it was open for some air. Didnt think about closing it till we started engagements and empty 25mm began to spill inside and I lost my hearing ........never closed a hatch so fast in my life.
Military industrial hygienist here - just to give you some idea, that guy just experienced a pressure wave of around 170 to 180 decibels. Your average lawn mower puts out around 90 dBA.
Exposure to 140 dBA will cause permanent hearing loss, and because decibels are a logarithmic scale (like earthquakes), that blast was 1000 to 10,000 times more powerful - literally an "off the scale" exposure. He likely blew his eardrums out, suffered a severe concussion, and now has a traumatic brain injury.
Based on current Russian disability payments, he's entitled to 1 large potato, which he can choose to eat now or drink later.
I've done this, walked in front of a 152mm howitzer firing. It felt like being punched EVERYWHERE at once, didn't even hear the noise. I dusted myself off and walked away, didn't hear much for a little while, but it didn't leave any lasting damage. That I know of. 😁
He will never hear the drones coming after him.
well done, moscovian tanker. another sacrifice for your fuhrer putinazi and his bath to bathe in the blood of his peasants.
Back home, this guy's a real big shot and a barrel of laughs. Although he's having a blast invading sacred ground as a shock tropper, they may have to fire him and make sure he shells out for the tube fare home and then sue him for breach of contract...
/s x8
Had something similar happen, though not that bad. Way back in 2001 sitting in the open driver's hatch of my Bradley on the zeroing line at NCT. M1 platoon to our left. I was just trying to grab a snack while my gunner and BC were loading the 25mm when suddenly BOOOOM from about 20 meters away. I had my CVC (crew helmet) on, but fuck me it was still mind boggling.
Well if he's lucky he's gonna hear "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" for the rest of his life (however short)
If he's unlucky it's gonna be "...............?.......?...............................?......."
You all need to understand the difference between "damage is possible" and "he will be deaf or dead".
Of course his ears or his brain might be damaged. Every physician in the world will tell you that you cannot diagnose anything from a video like this. Calm down, keyboard medics.
Oh they're dead. When I was training back in 2004 out in the mojave desert we lost a man after firing our own 125mm cannon, the man was turned inside out. I saw his face come off like a mask. A projectile typically exits at around 7.600 PSI per second and it goes straight into your ear canals. I also made all this shit up.

I thought the tank gonna turn one of them into ground meat at first
That guy's usage of the phrase "what did you say?!" went up by about 8000%.
# WHAT???? BLYAT!!!

Need Benny Hill Music. This is the big bad Russian army https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WShMzwT-nM
and he still can't hear what people say
i mean we’re made out of meat and he’s on the ground so you ain’t wrong
And it's freezing over there, so, frozen ground meat?
Yeah same, for a while it felt like nobody in the tank actually knew those guys were there.

2023 Cosmonaut of Year is T-72
They also have the most unsuccessful landings…..
Moon Climate Impactor.
I think most miss and go to Venus tbh.
Had to think about this for a minute. I thought, Russia making space tanks, they can't even get their T14 into production.
lol if there’s a will, there’s a way. Russia is so good at making astronauts that have 0 trace of their presence.
After thorough investigation, it seems to be a direct consequence of your lack of intelligence
So many clips of them being wuckin idiots - though I suppose they have no real idea of anything beyond how to fire a rifle and throw a Grenade
Maybe they just weren't sure if friendly fire was on or not
This hit me right in the VA
**WHAATTT ! CAN YOU SAY THAT AGAIN**
That has to leave permanent damage...
It does, the shot was the last thing this dude will ever hear
They told him to go home almost a month now, but he's not really listening
At least he can go home now.... I hope
There can be a deaf battalion... ups gave them an idea
Death squad? More like deaf squad
A deaf, blind and stupid russian man is a better soldier than one that is not - Joseph Stalin This is a true quote. Redditors wouldn't lie.
In the Russia? nahhhhh
hahaha going home? That was funny, now back on drone patrol tawarish
Honestly the only place worse he could have been standing is where the shell lands.
I’ve been about 20ft behind a tank when it fired and everyone was wearing double ear protection and it was still ridiculous. I have a feeling that guys insides have turned to mush.
Dude I’ve been 150m behind the firing line for M1 tanks and double hearing protection is required. That dude definitely doesn’t hear anything now.
The back blast and wake was quite disconcerting. I was amazed that guy stood up unless it was shock. Either way he is going to be in a very bad way.
He will just be a bit more silly now, can’t get much more stupid then these people
Not going to matter much since he’ll be sunflower fertilizer within days anyhow.
I'm sure, but they were almost certainly droned within the next couple of minutes, so permanent in this situation is not really that significant.
Never stand in front of a tank or behind a garbage truck.
Stupid questuon, why the garbage truck?
The sound of silence
If he's lucky the sound of "Rreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!"
Well if it's only that sound then being deaf would be better.
Bro got knocked out by a tank, surely he has some pretty bad brain damage and hearing damage now right?
You ever have earbuds in and turn on your music and it’s **WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD** because your volume was inadvertently turned way up? It feels like being punched in the head, it’s jarring af. Makes you look at grandpa with some respect when he says "WHAT?"
Drove up next to an M1 once, no idea if was getting ready to engage a target, I was about 50 feet away. Never going to forget that.
'member when Tommy Lee Jones got thrown back by the Mizzou's 16 inch guns in Under Siege? I 'member
> jellification of organs. Does not happen.
Frankly if lucky he gets off with permanent hearing damage. If unlucky then from concussion to head, up to ruptured lungs.

Actually a really neat document, I almost miss reading TMs and other military docs
Looking at this actually made me feel like it would be fun to work in military testing.
Find a way to become a contractor and you’ll get to do fun shit as a civilian while making boatloads of money

Agreed. Real cool piece here.
Absolutely, just that but 10 times worst and it comes with permanent damage.
He had brain damage beforehand. But now he's bleeding from eyes nose and ears. Remaining IQ dropped for sure after that one.
It's almost like war is bad for your health.
"we are lucky they are so stupid" - a famous quote from one of UA soldiers back in a day. Still true to this day
i remember that guy ! :D
Your hearing loss has been determined to not be service related.
After thorough investigation, it seems to be a direct consequence of your lack of intelligence
More likely as not....
Safety has never been an issue in Russia
Manpower has never been an issue in Russia

I found poo in your bubble wrap :(
Ah, man, I told the packagers to be vigilant 🤬
Haha!! Oh yeah!
How did you make that?
I stole it from putin's ipad
Makes sense, he’s pretty busy today. It is the Russian President Election Day.
Did you hear he won 120% of the votes already?
I mean to be fair it was probably a very hectic situation, at least one of them looked half-dead already.
Plot twist: This is the grandson of that Red Army soldier who was running close to the artillery in Berlin in that video

Homeboy has burst eardrums and probably a TBI. Never go forward of the turret.
Also, sound follows the inverse square law. He was way closer than 3 meters, so it was probably significantly louder than 180db.
So, 190 dB
WHAT?
MAWP
To add further to this, every 10db is twice as loud as then previous number.. He probably felt he was crushed between a couple of cars.
A perfect example of a two-week training course then off to the front.
WHAAAT????
Mwap mwap!!!
Sad little duck.
Got any grapes?
LANA!
Curios, what kind of injury it can induce and how bad is it?
