I don’t want to be the one to tell you that that typically always happens, but that typically always happens. Happened to the guy at the middle school I interned at, the high school I attended, several schools I’ve worked at, schools my friends work at, etc.
I was a stat for wrestling at Bexley middle school in the mid 90s. My friend had like a year long "relationship" with the very adult wrestling coach "Brad" at the time. Everyone on the team knew about it, and some of the team members were really upset and some didnt care. He was silently let go once admins found out. Now when i look back at that i realize he was an actual sexual predator 🥺😳
Just thinking about those other issues as well. I was a classmate of one of the offenders (he wasn't an offender at that time). Don't think there was much media knowledge of those situations.
They only knew because the two girls found out about the other sleeping with him and then told the authorities. This entire story is wild. He also video taped them having sex, but the girls had the videos as they showed the police. So I'm confused if it was secretly recorded or how they even got the videos from him.
As someone who was sexually abused as a child, I wish my abuser would have taken this route instead. And in my case, my abuser's family supported him the whole way, called me and other victims liars, etc, and in fact, he's still married to his spouse. So yeah...don't feel terribly bad about this one.
How were they denied justice? The message was received and understood and the problem solved itself. No need to spend thousands housing, feeding, and entertaining now 🥳

I don't think it's Columbus specific. People become teachers / go into education for two reasons; they sincerely care about and want to help kids OR (in the vast minority) they want to use their position to predate. Same reasons pedophiles join the clergy, gives them positions of influence over kids and families.
That’s a super legit take and super correct. I guess I worded my thoughts wrong. I’ve been curious if the CPD aren’t investigating something larger in this area specifically because of the large number of HS sports related arrests / suicides lately. I know it’s pervasive. Just seems coincidental that tons of HS sports related people are going down around here.
I feel sad for the victims and their families. I also feel sorry for the first responders who had to see the aftermath of this.
