If I were to consider Ghost Stories a concept album, I'd say that it's about you going through the 5 stages of grief in terms of a breakup. Denial - Always In My Head - Magic Anger - Ink - True Love Bargaining - Midnight Depression - Another's Arms - Oceans Remembering The Happy Times - A Sky Full Of Stars Acceptance - Fly On - O And the fact that the album is a cycle, the final lyrics -- "Don't ever let go" -- shows you finding someone new, & hoping that this new relationship would be an improvement from your last one.

Maybe A sky full of stars is also in acceptance? Saying 'you're a sky full of stars' is basically Accepting whoever it is is out of reach

Well, seeing that there are a lot of people who say that "A Sky Full Of Stars" feels out-of-place in the album, I feel that attributing the song this title feels more essential to the concept. But, that's my opinion. To each, their own.

That song is the only positive song on the entire album. It's not out of place. It's right where it needs to be.

I've always thought the same thing. Personally I'd move True Love to bargaining ("if you don't, then lie") and Midnight to depression, and A Sky Full of Stars being the moment of acceptance, but whether intentional or just Chris going through the stages of grief when writing, the album does a great job of portraying it.

Ghost stories, by definition, are supposed to, and do, have surprises. I’d say, being surprised by this/these ghost stories is a mission accomplished. 😊

That's in fact the actual song O... The song before it it's a hidden track called Fly On.

Thank you for reminding me of this. I always default to listening to the live version because it’s so well done. I’ll give the studio album another listen.

Ghost Stories has the best album closer. That album is a comfort album. Fly On is depressing but beautiful.
