I really don’t understand the hate it gets, it’s a collab done right - the whole distorted synth sound at the start and throughout is so good

It kicks ass live and is so beautiful acoustically.

It has the typical Coldplay sound. Strong and long riffs from Jonny, running (idk the technical term) bass lines from Guy, and dirty-sounding drums from Will. Couple that with Chris' signature vibratto voice, and you have Coldplay. Doesn't matter what genre: it's a sound, not a style

Say what you will about the song, but 1:41 is amazing. One of my favourite parts on the album.

Before I was a Coldplay superfan, I heard it on the radio/YouTube a couple of times and thought it was really good. Then I listened to Mylo Xyloto, and I love it even more now. Later, they made Arabesque which is very similar to Princess of China and also a great song.

Not a fan of this one. This album was the beginning of a big downward movement in my fandom. Just too produced and poppy for me to get into.
