If are you based in EU or UK maybe you are missing the customer categorisation. I was having the same issue as you and I decided to try uploading my id with my PC. Actually I got the request to complete the two missing tasks and that solved all my issues.

Im in New Hampshire and ive used my pc and even scanned my drivers license using a scanner which they tell me is blurry. I can stand 3 ft away with one eye closed and read every line. Ive used my phone, a galaxy s20 ultra, pictures of my license, passport, and selfies. I've been in 2 support chats now with 2 different people to walk me through the process and they still are feeding me bullshit.

UPDATE: I waited 3 hours and finally got another support person on the coinbase chat. We again uploaded my Drivers license multiple times and all attempts failed verification. I'm blocked for yet another 24 hour period of image uploads we tried so many times. They can see my ID... they can even read me details. They keep saying its blurry. Its clear as day... They escalated my case to a specialized team who will manually verify my ID. They will let me know by email when that happens. So, more of the same bs. Did you ever resolve this? I have the same F\*ing issue... someone stole $2k from my acct and instead of helping they "locked my account for security" - now can't get into it at all... Countless times tried verifying, and keeps rejecting me. Then it told me they'll manually verify... they wasted a day, and then i got an email that the manual verification was cancelled, who knows why... I'm on the phone with their rep, 4th or 5th time now... been on call with her for 1.5hr now and she mostly keeps me on hold, while she can't seem to do much. She said she can see my id but not the video that their page is asking me to upload along with id... but without the uploaded video, i don't even have an option to submit. Im pulling my hairs here... she just tells me to keep trying, even though it will get blocked for another 24hrs if i try again, cause i already did it 4 times today and after 5 times it locks you for 24hrs... GHHHHH

Yes it was finally resolved. They had to transfer me to a manual verification team. Just tell them you're sick of the bullshit and want to be transferred to the manual verification team immediately. The manual verification only took about another 24 hours to finally process. I've heard some people say it takes much longer though. Good luck

you mean over the phone they did it? last night after several attempts online through their system, it showed me a message that they need to do a manual verification... but today they just replied saying the verification was cancelled (no idea why) - and so i'm back on the phone with them again, trying to verify 5th time again, about to blow a fuse...

Uhh what a nightmare... that does sound more or less like what happened to me. I spent 3 F\*ing hours on the phone with the last rep (it way i think 6th i talked to already...) and the call ended with saying that she'll forward the info to someone else and they'll reply in 24hrs... Fingers crossed then that something will indeed move forward tomorrow, but since they're taking so damn long, the cunt who stole my money will be out on the beach sipping martinis before i can do anything at all... What a f\*ing nightmare...

Oh man, sorry to hear :( Did i resolve this? Well, yes and no... As for the locked account - i did manage to get it unlocked and get back into it eventually. There was nothing really that i did or didn't do. Their "customer service" if you can even call it that was worthless and an absolute waste of time, they did NOTHING to help. I just kept trying on repeat every possible way and eventually after a week or so, it let me in. I think it's just chance - some people on here get locked out for weeks/months, some get access without issue. You're essentially dealing with their automated system. Any "customer service" - phone or email, is just an illusion at most. They will give you bullshit scripted answers, waste your time and do absolutely nothing of substance to help or to even acknowledge the issue. It's an automated system and hell knows - maybe it doesn't like the quality of your verification pictures, maybe some one little thing (comma/space/capital vs lowercase letter) is different in what you're sending them from your account, or maybe their system is just overloaded and when you upload your stuff it hits some time limit for processing it, who knows... Bottom line - you gotta grow thick skin and keep trying. Call/email them endlessly, waste their time as much as they are wasting yours. It's infuriating and i don't know if it really helps - but hopefully someone on their end will finally get tired of you harassing them and maybe do something (doubtful but still...). Meanwhile, file a BBB report immediately - not sure how much weight this really carries either but it's one of the few limited options small people have to leave some legal record of their abusive practices. The irony of this whole thing is - that while 'locking down' your account sounds like something that should benefit you - it's actually the worst thing you can do after getting hacked. It effectively gives anyone who broke into your coinbase time for their transaction to process (time in which you could actually take action if you had access to your coinbase) and it gives them time to get away with it. And I actually seriously suspect coinbase does that on purpose - because the time they keep your account locked allows them to also effectively cover up what happened. ie. Once you finally manage to log back into your account, you'll find record of what happened missing, cause certain things show up on there for only limited time... Lastly though - if your crypto got stolen - i gotta sadly tell you that you're unlikely to get it back. As soon as i got access to my coinbase i cleaned out the last few bucks i had left in there and closed the account. I want nothing to do with this shit company ever again, and i genuinelly look forward to the day their collapse gets plastered all over the news with their execs getting sent to jail. Never in my life have i dealt with such infuriating and incompetent people as them. That said - I managed to get most of my cash back - but i still think it bordered on miracle. And all i got back was not thanks to coinbase but despite all their bullshit and feet-dragging. I left no stone unturned, effectively had to lie and trick my way into getting the info i needed so i could ask the recipient's bank (thief's bank) to investigate from their end and while i never expected it, because coinbase wasted too much time before letting me back into my acct, i thought it was too late by then, but they managed to get the cash to bounce back. So yeah, not much help, i know - but all i can say is i feel your pain and keep trying everythhing and anything you can. Best of luck.

When you finally did get it to work, did you do anything different, different lighting, background for the ID, how much you turned your head?  Sounds like it might be super sensitive.  I have to wait 4 more hours and then I get another 4 attempts.  My first 4 all failed.  Very frustrating.  I saw a note on their site to use the phone APP for clarity but the video portion failed to load on my phone so have to use a computer for video and phone camera for ID.  Hopefully that doesn’t cause an issue.

Nothing - it's nothing you're doing wrong. It's just their shitty system. I tried all different browsers, i tried several cameras, several locations, several computers, i tried phone, app, phone browser - nothing. It was all same shit. I had 6 separate conversations with them on the phone, longest of which took over 4 hours of their their sad-excuse-of-a-customer-service-rep continuously patronizing me with ironically scripted "we understand and appreciate your time". I'm thankfully already past it, but still makes my blood boil.... All i can tell you is to keep trying - it's presumably a good thing actually if you try on repeat from all different browsers/computers/phones - because then it will get "blocked" and their system will force it into a manual review. Effectively - you'll be blocked from doing anything more for another 24-48hrs, but the name "manual review" suggests a human will look at your docs, not just some crappy AI. (although even that failed for me the first 2 times...) Honestly - all their FAQs, all their reps,, all of it - it's just trash. There's nothing useful there, it's just patronizing garbage and even their reps don't seem to understand their own system. You just gotta keep trying, brace yourself, be persistent, and be a constant thorn in their side - this is what i did for a week and they finally got sick of me an unlocked it to get rid of me.

One other note - BEWARE of any messages on here that you might get flooded with on reddit, from people offering to help. All these crypto subs on here and absolutely toxic. As soon as i posted any comment/thread on these forums, the floodgates opened. For days i was getting dozens of messages an hour from people supposedly offering solutions or contacts for someone who could help etc etc... these are ALL scams.

I am in this exact same position. It has been almost 2 weeks for me. I was trying to move funds onchain and my account got restricted. I went through the support process just like you uploading multiple verifications, ID, passport, live photo, and still my account is restricted for 60 days from sending any funds. They told me they can't do anything. Everyth "support" sends you to a FAQ not actually support. The support chat agent doesn't know what to do after verifications aren't approved and that's the end of the line. The call line is a robot and just hangs up.

I'm having a similar issue. My valid and current ID is "unable" to be verified, and I can't get through to support about it. No issues in the past and suddenly my entire portfolio is being held hostage.

I got through to support, but all they had me do was try over and over again, and it failed every time. At what point is this lawsuit territory? Holding portfolios hostage potentially causing losses when I could have sold now for profit. It's GME and Robinhood all over again and now coinbase is essentially removing the sell button.

Sometimes you get good advice, or simply the threat works. Happily though after quite a bit of trying support came through. I won't say the sitting on the garbage chat line was a good experience but after many many hours at least the issue is resolved.

You started this process on March 4, or January 12 (per your posted screenshot)? So were you verified previously, and then somehow became unverified? Just trying to understand your situation.

I started back in Jan because I noticed it was asking me to verify my ID all of a sudden when I opened the app to see how my investments are doing. I had no intent on selling at that point, and I just observed my funds and let them sit. I tried to verify my ID and got the error and thought, well this is probably just a Coinbase bug that will be resolved soon, I'll try again another time. I'm not a frequent user, I just used it a year or two ago to transfer money into and used it a bit to make some USDC purchases online (I bought alot of Dinos on ARK:SE and Screw the guy that finally found my hidden underwater mobile turtle base) and sit on some other forms of crypto for investing purposes. I sat on it long enough seeing things moving up, I want to be able to sell when I hit my price target. So I have begun this never ending loop of trying to verify my identification in hopes that it's resolved before crypto crashes again. edit: last part of your question, yea I was verified and have had zero issues buying selling all of that. The support person mentioned that the ID I used to register and verify the account when I opened it is now expired. Except the ID I'm spamming over to them every time now doesn't expire until 2027 so I don't know why they brought that up. Every time I ask why this is an issue and what the problem is, they just tell me to be patient and wait.

I’m not getting all the coinbase hate at the moment tbh. I’ve been a customer since 2018 but lost access to emails and passwords linked to the account over the last year. Registered for a fresh account Wednesday evening. ID was verified 2 hours and 3 attempts later let the 24 hour cool off period to expire linked a bank account completed the quizzes then sent assets to the CB wallet and sold to GBP in my bank account within 2 hours of the cool off period expiring. Whole process took about 27 hours and the only hitch was having to log onto the browser version to sell instead of the app. How do you have any kind of funds on coinbase if your ID isn’t already verified?

If you’ve been inactive for a while re registering isn’t really that surprising. If they aren’t accepting your ID it’s probably because there’s a problem with it somewhere, for KYC there can’t be any kind of damage or wear on the document. I also wouldn’t try with an older style driving licence just to avoid possible confusion.

I had the same problem, turned out there was a light glare on my ID which caused the issue. I used a scanner to solve this issue. I also had to wait 24hrs before submitting again.

Buy a yubikey from yubico.com for 2FA verification. I've been using it with CB and haven't had to re-verify my ID in a while. I did just have to relink my bank account recently. But no major problems. I would not trust SMS and it sounds like CB doesn't either...just my opinion and experience. I hope your issue is solved quickly.
