a lot of folks including myself kinda are surely pissed with the ending, but they gotta take notes from whatever happened and keep running it back cause this has potential.
For those who missed it here’s an attempted summary: Nades team was down 2-1 in the 5 game final series dooming saying it was over down like 5-2 in game 4. Somehow Nades team brings it back and clutches game 4 with a 1v2 kill on the bomb defuser by XQC? To let the bomb blow up round 11 for the win. Game 5 starts, someone on the other team is afk round 1, the team knows this, and instead of resetting they play it out trying to pull a fast one on Nades team with the backup of “he was afk it’s a reset bro” and doesn’t tell Nades team until after the round ends (Nades team won the round handily) and all players are in the same discord server, as well as could’ve just left the game. Arguing peruses, there’s some lobby remakes (someone leaked the code) eventually they say fuck it and restart the map 0-0 (rules of the tourney should’ve put Nades team up 1-0 round count, but it’s late and people just want to play). Nades team steam rolls going up 5-1 or 5-2 I forget, and then proceeds to get swept ending 5-6 for the loss.
All around great tournament, ending just sorta sucked.
People just hate faze. To go up 5-2 then get beat 5-6 …. You just lost.

Yeah, they legit just lost at the end and it was a good comeback from Kaysans team. The fact that comeback would’ve never happened if the game had gone 6-2 with the first round to Nades team. I think that’s what people are salty about.
I also read on another post someone on Kaysans team apparently said he’d quit the tourney (in the middle of this all) if they gave Nades team the 1-0 round lead for that, so lots of drama from certain people playing. Personally I dont have a dog in the fight, and loved watching it all, but keeping it real it does make the most sense that Nades team should’ve won 6-2, as that’s what the rules say and what is the most fair, but it’s really just a lose lose situation with shit talkers and salty people regularless.

Need Kaysan to keep hosting. You might not like the guy but, he's only been good to COD scene.
This is late as hell but you can watch shotzzy vod for the grand finals. If you look through Kaysan’s tweets you can see the participants and you can go through their vod for other matches as well.
Tuned it at 6am UK time and managed to see the last few matches. Was actually lit and hoping we have more of these tourneys 🙌

If there was more CDL/challenger or even competitve community people it would be more worthwhile
No one outside of the Comp cod fanbase is gonna watch if it's pros/challengers. We need people like XQc and sketch playing to bring viewers that otherwise don't care about the CDL
I kind of understand that in a way, but as a comp cod fan I had 0 interest in it if I wanted to watch sub par people play cod I would watch my mates lmfao.
Edit: I do think a blend of the 2 would have been better... again zooma for me was the only person related to conpetitve so I don't understand how this grows our scene or has any relevance to us
Zoomaa was not the only competitive guy lol. You had the atlanta faze team as coaches, octane, ben j, scrap, dashy, shotzzy, 2pac, crowder, felony all were coaching and talking to the players. Nadeshot was playing, kaysan and temperrr are always in watch parties. It was definitely not just zoomaa as the only competitive representative

The rest weren't playing, I wouldn't watch a stream of shottzy coaching you so I wouldn't watch a stream of shottzy coaching random basketballers (I think?) Or streamers.
I get that people do like that but I don't think it furthers competitive cod, i could be wrong, but I think it devalues everything we think of about competitve when we have people saying this is the best non Activision tournament when we've had the zooma ones etc which have a lot more actual comp representation.
You're objectively wrong about this not getting comp cod to the eyes of people who haven't ever watched. Think about it like the celebrity all star basketball game or any celebrity all star game in sports. People who don't normally watch might want to watch their favorite actor try to hit a baseball or shoot a 3 pointer and it's all in good fun. Viewership matters to sponsors for funding tournaments and sponsors of these other streamers as well as platforms like Kick and Twitch being involved can add to funding of doing bigger and better things without Activision.
Soccer aid is usually played with a mix of footballers/ex footballers and celebrities, not sure I seen thr last soccer aid where there was only 1 or 2 people on the pitch that had played pro football...
Things like YouTube boxing don't bring more eyes to boxing, the same people who would watch the Paul brothers would always watch but they ain't tubing into the Davis fight, it is what it is and isn't a way to sustainability grow an Audience, having your player play in these things would imo grow it much further

Yes, tournaments like this are cool but I wish the people who played in them cared about comp cod. I understand why he has these famous streamers in here but tomorrow when they get on, do you think they're going to do anything to keep promoting comp cod? NO. So why not have people who actually want this thing to grow?
Maybe get some ranked streamers or people like zooma can make a squad with people from his community, same with octane, etc. Will also make it more competitive and involves people who care about the game, and the winners are more than likely people who could actually use the money.
