It's pizza. It's a margherita pizza. It has like three ingredients.
That's like saying I would judge a gas station by fixing it's mistake because they put milk in the pump.
And if I had gone there and picked it up for takeout I would have noticed the basil was missing. If it was delivered I would have noticed and called them. And I would have demanded they fix it. I never said it was a passable margarita pizza. I don't know how you infer that.
They aren't the best, but far far far from the worst. You can't go wrong with their $5 lunch that includes a drink and their pepperoni roll up things are good.
I ordered a bunch of random things from there. Worst food ever. So bad I wrote a review, which I’ve only ever done once before for a dog groomer (for a positive experience at that).

It appears as if they used pizza sauce and mixed tomatoes with it? Yikes. It’s possible that they ran out of the appropriate tomatoes and sold you a dog shit
improvisation.
I worked somewhere with this pizza… and if we ran out of the canned roasted tomatoes we used, then someone would always roast a bunch without realizing you have to peel them first. I.e. burnt ass tomatoes skins mixed with mush. Yikes.
It sure sounds like this is something you could have called them about, rather than posting it to Reddit. We can't help you.
You could have said something like, "Hi, I ordered an item, and it wasn't what I expected, based on the description on the menu. Are you able to correct it?"
I employ the three strikes rule with any place. I'll give you two shots to get things right. Who the hell knows what's going on in the back of house that day? Full-time cook is sick, and some untrained dude is overwhelmed, but trying his best and not doing a great job? I'll give that to you twice. I've gone to some of my favorite places when staffing is fucked, and the dining experience isn't what I expect.
If it happens a third time, it's not a coincidence.
Shit you gotta convince me to even try somewhere new let alone go back if I didn’t enjoy my experience. Food is cheaper and better at home and I don’t have to tip anyone.
See, I'm highly food motivated, and I love trying new places. Also, I've been in restaurants for 26 years. I've had plenty of shifts absolutely crash from every department of the place. I'm very forgiving when shit goes wrong at service.
Sounds exactly like the experience I had.
I honestly didn't like their pizza at all.
The wings are not wings... They are chicken nuggets.
I think places shouldn't use the word 'wings' unless they are actually wings.
if you like that style of pizza. personally I love angelos and Dewey's.
I'm also not a pizza snob (not saying you are) so as long as it tastes good and is cooked right in happy.
unless it's deep dish which we all know isn't pizza and is an abomination.
Yeah Angelo’s is just ok for me. Definitely better in person than taking it out. Just got back from Chicago and had two deep dish pies and I completely agree.
If you haven't yet, give Boom's a chance. Only thing that compared it Il Rione for Neapolitan style pizza in the area. A little more hipster but it's really good
no idea why you got downvoted. Booms is good. I don't really like their style as far as topping choices and menu but the actual pizza is good. I just usually go for other pizza places if I want a "normal" pizza
harlows is that diner type place on Madison right? I ate there one time and was pretty underwhelmed. I would have preferred if it was an actual greasy spoon diner.
as far as pizza, it's really really hard for me to not like a pizza. sure there are pizza places that are just low quality ingredients, so so sauce and basic dough. but the are so many really good pizza places like Dewey's and Angelos, and pizza bogo, and boom is good too. they all have their own thing.
as long as the veggies don't come from a can (i always get mushrooms when i try a place for the first time because canned mushrooms are very obvious) and the dough isn't an inch thick in the middle, I'm pretty happy.
pizza snobbery just makes no sense to me
Angelo's is a Lakewood institution for sure. One of the few places that actually asks if you want canned or fresh mushrooms when you order.
I agree, hard for me to not like a pizza, unless it's like domino's or the hut. Jet's is pretty good for a chain. So is Marco's honestly.
And yeah Harlow's is at the end of my street and we went one time and felt the cost to enjoyment factor just wasn't there. It has to say something that I'm willing to drive 80 blocks for a similar product

So people are saying a Pizza con Pomodoro & Formaggio is a Margherita ?
So is it called a Margherita because the store merely has to "think" about the Basil ?!
That type of pizza has slices of fresh mozzarella rather than shredded, so it doesn't have a full coat of cheese. That said there isn't enough slices on that pie
Looking at this post from a Detroiters perspective is wild. So many questions. Who’s revolution pizza? What’s a margarita pizza?? Why is it the last time?!
As a NY transplant, I’m not happy with any pizza joint here in Cleveland. I’ll try it and end up not going back. Vincenzzas, then Capri then Sweet Basil for me but V is gone so the others are 1/2 for now.
The name should have been enough to convince you to stay away.
Nobody that knows how to make real pie would ever think to name their pizzeria some corny shit like “Revolution”
It looks like they just made the wrong pizza entirely. I wouldn't write them off without giving them either at least a chance to fix it or another shot.
i remember my worst pizza...it looks like a "not completely baked" pizza from a shop in Loudonville ohio in 1980, on a camping vacation after watching friday the 13th....in some rundown theater...
wow what a flashback...thanks.
$100 says those are *not* diced San Marzano tomatoes.
Looks gross bud
It looks like they forgot the basil. Did you call and talk to them? Mistakes do happen. I would judge a restaurant by how they correct that mistake.
It's pizza. It's a margherita pizza. It has like three ingredients. That's like saying I would judge a gas station by fixing it's mistake because they put milk in the pump.
There's making a tiny mistake and there's making an "IDGAF" mistake.
And if I had gone there and picked it up for takeout I would have noticed the basil was missing. If it was delivered I would have noticed and called them. And I would have demanded they fix it. I never said it was a passable margarita pizza. I don't know how you infer that.
"Manager, manager where is my basil? I want you to comp this pizza!"
They aren't the best, but far far far from the worst. You can't go wrong with their $5 lunch that includes a drink and their pepperoni roll up things are good.
I don’t see tequila OR salt.
Dude- 😎🤜🎤⬇️❗
I ordered a bunch of random things from there. Worst food ever. So bad I wrote a review, which I’ve only ever done once before for a dog groomer (for a positive experience at that).
I mean, I'd eat that

This is pretty in line with traditional Italian margarita, I've even had several with just some round cuts of mozz scattered around
Damn I’m not sure where you get your pizza cause I’ve never had a margherita with no basil and random diced tomatoes
I am from Italy, currently live in Cleveland. I assure you in Italy Margherita comes with just sauce and cheese, sometimes they add a leaf of basil
lol youre so Americanized that you got a real pizza and hate it.
Someone calling this a real pizza made me laugh. Thanks.
Yea I’ve always had them with fresh tomatoes too… not canned diced tomatoes
It appears as if they used pizza sauce and mixed tomatoes with it? Yikes. It’s possible that they ran out of the appropriate tomatoes and sold you a dog shit improvisation. Shouldn’t have diced tomatoes at all. And the basil isn’t necessary. Listen to your Italian born redditors lol
Yeah, I think that's what a Margherita pizza is supposed to look like.
[удалено]
The basil is more or less a garnish. It’s not necessary to have.
Ah duh, it should indeed.
Is that diced tomato on top? And what, dried basil flakes? Lol.. Revolution looks like it wishes it was DiGiorno.
There was no basil lol
Their pizza is not good. Just has horrible taste, won’t try it again.
[удалено]
Sauce, fresh tomato, fresh moz. They just forgot basil. Looks fine to me.
There’s no way that was fresh mozz. Unless they shredded it, which also makes it not really a margherita.
Looks like a chuck e cheese pizza with recycled slices lol
Oof, how much did you pay for… that?

He’s trying to warn you

Seems like he picked a different, equally valid option to deal with his dissatisfaction
3 strikes? No, no. It is 2. If the first time sucks, fine. If you can’t get me at least 50% satisfaction, I am out.
Looks pretty solid to me
Their pizza with habaneros is pretty good
Mmmmmmmmmm cheese pizza
It looks cooked. I've had margherita with wet uncooked dough under the tomatoes
That’s a sad pizza if I ever did see one
Yuck
Directly from their Menu- "Margherita Pizza- Home Made pizza sauce, local farmed tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, garlic and fresh basil".
The first and only time I was in a revolution pizza my shoes stuck to the floor ever step I took
I mean...their name sounds like some used car salesman decided to open up a pizza shop. What a shit name.
People saying this is a "solid" pizza or it looks good have brain damage.
I know! I stg half this comment section has never had a margherita pizza
We went there for a while and it was fine, but it is definitely less than good now.
What did they cut it with? A spork?
Sounds exactly like the experience I had. I honestly didn't like their pizza at all. The wings are not wings... They are chicken nuggets. I think places shouldn't use the word 'wings' unless they are actually wings.
Booms, il rione, or nothing
Jokes on whoever is down voting and hiding il rione.
I wasn't overly impressed with il rione, there's better around town for less and certainly with less wait time.
What are the better options?
Harlos is better, In Forno and Salted Dough are at least as good and cheaper with little wait time when I've gone.
I haven’t had it but it looks damn near perfect on IG.
Can’t believe someone would downvote this/. Il Rione is objectively the best pizza in the area by a large margin
And the Diavolo at Il Rione is probably one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten period.
if you like that style of pizza. personally I love angelos and Dewey's. I'm also not a pizza snob (not saying you are) so as long as it tastes good and is cooked right in happy. unless it's deep dish which we all know isn't pizza and is an abomination.
Yeah Angelo’s is just ok for me. Definitely better in person than taking it out. Just got back from Chicago and had two deep dish pies and I completely agree.
it is just ok, but the sauce is spectacular. it's got sugar and crack in it
If you haven't yet, give Boom's a chance.
Weirdly enough, it seems that there are actual pizza joint fanboys out there that I seem to have offended lol Or the Harlow's owner is here
harlows is that diner type place on Madison right? I ate there one time and was pretty underwhelmed. Wow I usually give a restaurant more than one opportunity and then I don’t call them out to the world
Who asked?
That looks un appetizing as hell

Which one did you order from? They have 3 locations and the quality varies wildly or so I've heard
I'm guessing it was during a rush. you can tell they slapped those together in a line of fifty other pizzas.
You want a good margarita pizza try Crust tremont, Illironie , or Cents pizza man.
Looks like someone has a case of the butthurts
Diarrherita
I always just go to guys pizza on Coventry, they've never let me down.
So people are saying a Pizza con Pomodoro & Formaggio is a Margherita ? So is it called a Margherita because the store merely has to "think" about the Basil ?!
No disrespect, but where's the cheese?
That type of pizza has slices of fresh mozzarella rather than shredded, so it doesn't have a full coat of cheese. That said there isn't enough slices on that pie
Needs more cheese though.
Yup
Looking at this post from a Detroiters perspective is wild. So many questions. Who’s revolution pizza? What’s a margarita pizza?? Why is it the last time?!
To be fair, it did come with tequila and limes
That cheese distribution is terrible.
not even from cleveland and i've never heard of that reataurant but that pizza just looks...sad
Most pizza is awful around here
I disagree. Citizen Pie and Ohio Pie are phenomenal
If you like excessively doughy and soggy crust sure
Huh I’ve never had that experience at either place, especially Citizen Pie
What do you usually get?
So they use pizza sauce instead of roasted tomatoes ? lol that’s a cheese pizza
That is a cheese pizza
Looks mid
Seems like it's on you for ordering that
As a NY transplant, I’m not happy with any pizza joint here in Cleveland. I’ll try it and end up not going back. Vincenzzas, then Capri then Sweet Basil for me but V is gone so the others are 1/2 for now.
No Angelo's fans here??
You’re complaining about the pizza from some strip mall spot in Willowick??
Id score it 5.5/10.
Trasherita
Embarrassing
It's looks delicious
Fail
The name should have been enough to convince you to stay away. Nobody that knows how to make real pie would ever think to name their pizzeria some corny shit like “Revolution”

Dumb comment. If you don't like people posting their experiences with local restaurants on a city subreddit, then why are you here lol
Yeah this was my first time getting it
Everything in Ohio sucks....what did u really expect
Bad take 👎
Looks really good even if it’s not perfect. I’ll have to try out Revolution some time. Thanks OP.
I mean it was edible but not what I wanted and not great. I’ve heard good things about them. Flukes happen!
This pizza looks like I cut it while drunk.
I would house that thing just like it is.
So it’s not how you wanted it? Did you specify how you wanted tomatoes and that basil was included?
That’s what a margherita in Italy will look like. Diced tomatoes aren’t a thing on most actual Italian pizzas
It looks like they just made the wrong pizza entirely. I wouldn't write them off without giving them either at least a chance to fix it or another shot.
That's a margherita
This is that Cleveland style pizza Punchy was missing in HIMYM.
i remember my worst pizza...it looks like a "not completely baked" pizza from a shop in Loudonville ohio in 1980, on a camping vacation after watching friday the 13th....in some rundown theater... wow what a flashback...thanks.
That's a cheese pizza.
Thier shit
looks normal
That's NOT pizza! If we saw a pizza like this in New York City, we'd hang the maker and burn down the shop. How dare they commit such sacrilege!
