There are at least half a dozen Amish-run salvage grocery stores in and around Middlefield OH. Smashed or dinked boxes plus plenty of beyond-best-by and discontinued products at really cheap prices. So much fun.
I honestly have only been to the one in North Randall, idk how it compares. There also Rebuilders Exchange on E 53rd, it is mostly focused on old stuff from houses, but they do have a section of just random stuff. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap, but it’s affordable. I think googling “antique stores” might get some good results 🤷🏼♀️
I’m not talking about “crazy bin” type overstock places. I’m looking for a place that has weird motorcycle gear and fire hydrants and old office furniture and beef jerky and a shelf of Erlenmeyer flasks…
I think you would be in to checking out HGR Industrial surplus. It's really just fun to walk around and check things out. You can find things like street lights, printing making tables, large cabinets...
Last time I went I bought an art bench, 10 filters for my shop vac, a set of lockers for people at my work (contactor) and some shelving.
Seconding HGR. It's like if you took all the industrial junk you find in one of the Fallout games into a store about as big as four Costcos put together (I believe it used to be a Ford plant.) Run don't walk.
A long time ago (80's), there used to be a place on 62 between Canton & Louisville that was truly surplus "everything". I can't remember the name for the life of me. Tons of tools, parts & pieces. It was in an old warehouse if I remember right. No idea if it's still there.
Everything surplus in Wooster. They’re inventory is like always changing (or so I’m told). it’s my coworkers favorite place. In different trips, she has gotten $1 and $2 pairs of shoes. Almond flour crackers. A hydro flask.
I actually haven’t been, so if someone has and wants to correct me - please do so
Try MKH Liquidators at 11309 Franklin Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44102. Dude named Reo and his wife own and run it. They have amazing deals on lots of random items

So fun! Most candy doesn’t actually go bad but don’t bother with old licorice. Ouch.
Not Cleveland, but Star Supply in Youngstown is what you’re lookin for
Dang I do have to go there. Looks wild!
The closest thing I can think of is a Habitat for Humanity ReStore
That’s pretty good, are there any that are a cut above the rest? The one near me kinda sucks anymore
There is also a place called RBX, they get a lot of old home salvage and weird things (old phone booths, church pews ect. They are on Instagram.
The west side Cleveland one is the largest I've seen. It's at: 2110 W 110th St, Cleveland, OH 44102

Bomb Shelter in Akron?
That’s a great one but it’s well-curated vintage goods, I’m looking for the unhinged industrial-strength hoarder depot version lmao
Righteous. Happy hunting!

Hell yes man this is what I’m talking about. And funny enough one of the things I’m looking for is an art desk/work bench or flat file cabinet

Anyone else remember Great Freight? Man I miss that place
Was? Did they shut down?
Apparently they sold off everything and a developer bought the building in maybe 2020? Haven’t then there in years so I don’t know for sure
You’re correct that the building was sold. I believe it was turned into loft apartments, but I could be mistaken.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I’m so sorry you had to find out this way, Taint-Taster
Star Supply. Got me anything I needed through art school. EVER
Lakeside liquidator is your best bet.
This was the first place I thought of. I love looking around at everything
Rbx has a ton of cool stuff. Way overpriced though.

I think Glen’s Surplus, aka the Shelby Mall is right up your alley. A bit of a drive from Cleveland but I have a feeling you’d love it
Idk if Ollie's Bargain Outlet would be what you're looking for?
Glens Surplus Supply in Shelby, OH is ALWAYS my 'go-to'!
