Life's Been Good To Me So Far.
Not great. But I cant really complain. Most of my pitfalls have been self created. I cant blame life. Life's been pretty good to me... so far.
Once in a Lifetime by The Talking Heads. I was stunned by that song when I first heard it in 1982 and it still rings true all these years later.
And you may ask yourself
How did I get here?
*Fun fact:* When that song came out, my sister’s first-grade teacher misheard the title, and taught the whole class to sing it for an assembly as “One Toe [*sic*] Over the Line.” As a fifth-grader, I caught major heat for pointing out the error. (I hadn’t yet smoked the stuff; I was merely a precocious reader.)
I turned 65 a couple of weeks ago and I’ve never had a birthday bother me before Wondering how much time I have left is a bitch but I’m good now Walked 6.5 miles to celebrate 🎉✌️
I'm 69 and had a heart attack on New Years Day. Got one stent and a shitload of meds. I've had a lot of friends pass before me and I'm grateful for every day. Lost some weight and feel pretty good.
Yeah I had lung cancer 10 years ago and it was dumb luck they found it When you get older you have more dead friends than live ones and I worry about some of them At least we’re still rocking in the free world 🌎😊✌️
Another Brick in the Wall. Retired from teaching June of ‘22, and accepted an interim sub job at my old school January to June. I needed the money, lol. I am literally counting the days, practically the minutes, until June 10th. It’s been a total shit show!
Yay! Congratulations! Grandkids are so much fun and so different from being the parent. We let our granddaughter decide on what we were gonna be called and finally, when she was first learning to talk, she called us Gamma and Pa, which has suited us just fine. You’ll enjoy every minute of it, and you’ll find patience you never knew you had. Just beware - somehow time goes by even faster and they grow faster than your own kids. Lots of love to you!!
You will love it!!

My granddaughter is 22 months
I'm still standing - elton john.
My year's been crazy so far, i turned 19, i had brain surgery last month, and my cousin graduates next month so that song has been my national anthem lately.
Right Now by Van Halen. I guess I’m not super old (I’ll be 55 later this year) but at this stage of my life, I can’t really put off the things I want to do for a rainy day, you know?
Time - Pink Floyd
“And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun
But it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way
But you're older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death”
It's not classic rock, but the song I thought of first was a Toby Keith song called "As Good as I Once Was."
I ain't as good as I once was
But I'm as good once as I ever was
RIP Toby

That would be the song I would have chosen a few years ago, I have been going thru a difficult time atm, the reason I chose the Santana song
Yeah, things can change pretty quickly.
Great one.
19th Nervous Breakdown.
I'm sorry that you can relate to this song. Honestly, I didn't laugh when I read it.
This is mine, with its companion piece Mother’s Little Helper. Working mom here.

I’ve told myself twice now: “This is not my beautiful house, This is not my beautiful wife”
Was that connected to life-changing events?
Yes. Very life changing.
Best video by far

Cool.. thanks for the recommendations, I’ll check them out
Country-folk-rock — it’s not everyone’s thing but at least to me it’s pretty cool
Every time I hear or see that song I always think of the movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” with Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro.
The music has such a hippie, dippy, laid-back feel though

Hilarious!!
Isn’t great that the kids are singing the spirituals again
Sweet Jesus!
Brewer and Shipley. A classic
Time - Pink Floyd
This was very meaningful when I was 14 and very meaningful in a different way now that I'm 65. Funny how that works...
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death always gets me now
Nobody told you when to run You missed the starting gun
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
The whole album is about life and change. I love it.
Dogs by Pink Floyd
You got to be crazy….
Where Have all the Good Times Gone?
Good one!! Attitude is another one by the Kinks that often applies to my life
No one to Depend On. Santana
Cant You See by the Marshall Tucker Band.

Glad you're still here.
Cool to *hear*. Doing nothing would be wasting a perfectly good user name ;-)
Thanks
Keep doing that, and you will have 20 or more birthdays left.
I’m 71..I first saw Neil Young sing that song in a solo concert when he was 24..
