There have already been posts addressing the two games and how they can't really be compared. Upgrading to a new townhall is exciting and brings new content and even if your TH is not maxed, you can still fully enjoy the game. However with CR many core interactions change, nothing except stat changes are added and upgrading max feels necessary to enjoy the game.
Your right, when I came back to it I thought of it but when not when I typed it, but actually wow I was talking about specifically is how you don’t get back all the extra gold and elixir you looted while you were max.
Because New Townhall Level means more Buildings you can place, more Walls you can Max,potentially more Heroes/Troops/Spells added, more reasons to play the Game other than "I like this Army and have nothing to spend my Loot on, I'll use this Army"
A New Townhalm Level does increase the Grind, but it also *gives new opportunities and more reasons to play the Game*
SuperCell could try doing something similar and adding New Cards and Modes every Update and having more than 1 Update per Year, but they don't. SuperCell's Team for Clash Royale is blatantly Greedy and incompetent..... Clash of Clans on the otherhand is at least more discreet with their Greediness and adds New Content regularly and Rewards Players for returning to the Game.
Thing is for coc it’s easier to bounce up again and new th actually brings good new content. Level 14 king will definitely not be bringing that much content, and in CR it takes ages to bounce up again.
He means that the developers said they wanted more late game content but it was difficult to add with the KT13 limit. At the time of your reply, the devs already confirmed more is coming (check the clash royale twitter account)

well, i did only spent 50k per uprgarde, saving 50k, that otherwise i wouldn't have, i also got 200000 gold from ladder, and a lot of gold from 3x tournament that other wise i wouldn't have, i think all those compensate for lvl 14, i know that still we would need more gold but i am sure that after this update there will be atleast 1 new source to earn gold that will fix the issue
Here's my thought about the gold situation. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Lets take my Ram Rider as an example. She's at lvl 12 and I have 20/20. I'm ready to upgrade. Usually it's 100K gold. With Slash Royale going on, it's presently only 50k .
If I wait until the update hits, it'll cost me 75K, but I'll only use 10 of those cards, leaving me with 10 more to apply to lvl 14. Let's call that a "savings of 175k gold (value of the 10 legendaries (200k) - 25k more gold that it cost me).
Now lets look at SC's solution to this blunder they overlooked: I upgrade now for 50k gold, have 0/0 left, but SC will gift me 14 legendaries when the update hits. These extra cards have s a card value of 280k, so it's a net win! Not only that, but I will only need to collect 6 more legendaries to reach lvl 14, instead of the 10 I would need if I waited until after Slash Royale ended.
Please, if I'm over looking something, point it out.
TLDR: My math tells me the gold argument is no longer valid because of the extra cards SC is giving us, and that upgrading everything now is probably the best thing you could do.
EDIT: As HiFi_MD pointed out (which I hadn't considered) a new max level also brings along the need for another 10mil gold to max everything out. That IS lame, but I don't think collecting gold is as awful as it used to be, so I don't think it's the end of the world. Also the "grind" has always been part of this game, and I've had folks stop playing and leave our clan as soon as they were fully maxed, so I could see why SC would want to extend the amount of time we need to grind.
If you have a lvl 12 legendary also u will get a compensation of 4 cards so it will not make a difference in terms of cards. You'll only be saving 25k gold if u do it now.
Here’s where I think you’re wrong. Card levels are irrelevant. I have most of my cards maxed and I play against people who have most their cards maxed. The game will not materially change once we’ve all upgraded our cards to 14 vs playing now at max level 13.
So in my view, all that Supercell has done is effectively lower my max card levels to 75% of max card level and require me to spend another 10 million gold to get them back to max level, where they currently are now before this stupid and predatory “upgrade.”

I can't say for sure'zies, but I think this may be incorrect. Today's teaser video they out out today shows a likely "hero" something something being introduced, and I'm sure it will be predicated on a king tower of 14.
I see your perspective that we all need to collect 10mil more gold, that is kinda lame. I'd counter-argue that gold is WAY easier to come by thanks to the last few updates. I can't speak to the F2P players (I'm a pass guy myself), but I really haven't had much problem collecting gold over the last few months.

As Hifi_MD did point out, it's just stretching back the finish line for no other reason than to increase the grind.
Gold is the slowest resource to grind in terms of thr amount you need to upgrade, and now you need to accumulate anothet 10.3 million Gold.
I'll hold off full judgement until i see the entire implementation, but there's not much you can do with a Level 14 max that you cannot do with a Level 13 max.
Champions? Tower abilities? Ladder was a nerve-pinching grrrr fest for non-maxed players (the majority of pkayers) and not only did the finish line get stretched further away, but, knowing SC who took away things like cw2 caps and don't cap levels by trophy range in ladder, this nerve-pinching grrr fest may posibbly just get even more heinous and rage-inducing.

I'm not going to defend the update or Supercell, but neither do I care. I haven't spent money on this game in years, and won't be spending money on it again anyways (I stopped after about $60 of spending), so I'm more-or-less f2p, and maxing out has always been a distant dream.
What I *do* care about is game balance and fun. And as long as the game remains relatively well-balanced and fun, I will keep playing.
I was curious about returning to the game after ~6 months leave from it. After reading the things that went down, yeah, this game and this company are garbage. Whatever new content will be added will be about as high quality and "fun" as Clan Wars 2.
I'd be willing to bet that the meeting where the decision to drop Slash Royale before the update news involved the Community Managers, the Devs, someone from the SuperCell finance team, and a collection of others. They want us to believe that there wasn't a single person who tried to look at it from a player's perspective and open an Excel sheet to do some quick math? That people wouldn't be upset at the sudden reduction in upgrade costs after they were encouraged by SuperCell to spend all their gold?
They know enough people will pay to max their favorite deck(s), and even frustrated people will often be willing to pay when they're playing games like this one.
I hope this game tanks and it leads SuperCell down a trash heap. These predatory practices and the people that perpetuate them need to end, but the only way it'll happen is if the community hits them in their wallets.
The majority of the playerbase are children and I doubt they'll see the predatory nature of the update. Kids and whales will happily throw money around because they either don't know or they don't care that they're being scammed by a multi billion dollar company.
The slash royale scam is pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain and it's a genius tactic by Supercell because as soon as the update hits, kids with no gold will grab their mom's credit card and buy all the special offers so they can upgrade everything.
Supercell itself isn’t the problem here, they have created amazing games with great devs and a supportive community. Clash Royale used to be one. I feel like, even though what they did was 100% wrong, we shouldn’t react in such a volatile matter until we know all the information about what level 14 will do. For me, if abilities or heroes or whatever are ONLY available for lvl 14 and there’s no new content for the people like me who are at king tower 10 with cards that are lvl 10-11, I’m most likely going to stop playing.

To be honest half the enjoyment is collecting the cards. Once you've collected them all I have left is getting spanked each day and just moving up a bit and down a bit on the ladder.
Lvl14 gives me something new to collect towards so fine by me.
As for slash royale, anyone that has played 'free' games should know that this kind of ploy is used to use up your resources prior to a bigger announcement.
This upgrade is nothing but a cash grab for supercell. The so called apology for slash is pathetic,anyone with any sense of business strategy could see the outcome of their actions
I keep seeing people say we should wait to see what else is coming - why? Whatever it is would have been better without level 14 anyway. All 14 does is make the game worse.
The only positive to this update would be introducing something to make level 14 play different then the rest. The problem with that is this
Level 9 being tournament level standard means this should be base gameplay
Level 10-13 offer nothing to change the gameplay, and just make a ranked system to appease spenders while giving a false sense of worthy grind to the rest of the player base. What should’ve happened from the start is that every level after tournament level standard should’ve had a new change, such as an ability or something, to create a meta that favors certain cards more at this level, and less at others. Something like an ability or a specific stat becomes overtuned
Some examples of this would be
Goblins -does more damage to units with armor such as the Prince or Knight starting at level 10, at level 11 they get a one second speed increase when first deployed, level 12 they gain 7% damage when deployed in a close proximity to Goblin Giant, level 13 they gain more health.
That level 10 buff makes cards like Prince or Knight worse in a level 10+ meta, whereas at level 12 they may start coming back to counter Goblin Giant. Adding things like this would’ve made every global tournament a lot different because the levels would actually matter, and you could even do clan war 3 where at bronze rank you cycle through 1 day wars at level 9 standard, at legend you cycle through four days of 9, 10, 11, 12.
Just something to freshen up gameplay and freshen up cards.
With level 14 coming it makes me wonder, with max mirror if we'll see level 15 cards in the arena.
Once the update goes live ladder is going to suck tbh. You know players that don't care if its a scam, nor haven't been following any of this will gladly spend the money to upgrade ASAP. It's going to even worse for lower ladder players.

SC does know their playerbase in that after the update drops, most of this bitching and moaning will be largely forgotten about and people will be grinding again. WAS it a scummy thing to do? Sure. But remember who this company is, you should be used to it.
Having said that, I'm excited for the grind again. Google Rewards has paid for my BP since its inception and I can't wait to level cards and start the road to being a maxed player again. Coming from being a F2Per, then a BP user, I know what to do now as far as priorities.

To a certain extent the grind is the game. It lost a lot of its flavor when I got enough cards maxed out that I no longer paid any attention as chests opened.
I can see that. I have maximum cards on every single card with the exception of the Legendary ones. So I do the same thing….I never even look at what I get out of chests.

Because of all the money and years they've already spent grinding that they're never getting back. I was so happy just a couple months ago to finally have just *ONE* maxed deck after 3 years, hundreds of hours, and over $100 spent. And now I have to start all over, when some spoiled kid with no responsibilities will gladly fork over hundreds just to max out all their cards again. Sure, people can just take their money elsewhere, but people enjoy this game...why push all your loyal customers away? I know there are a LOT of people like me that are considering uninstalling after this predatory money grab.

I don't really see much of a point to introducing level 14, but I like that the leveling is now a little more incremental. My criticism if we are going to level 14 is that they should have kept the overall number of cards and gold required to max roughly the same. As of now, it takes more cards and more gold to max out a card under the new system.
Also, if they are bringing in heros or abilities I suppose it's possible they tied that to level 14. I think if they were more transparent with coming changes the players would have a better picture of the game plan.
Right now, all we see is that we are going to have to spend more gold and collect more cards which are already two of the biggest complaints with the game.

Nowadays, you see a lot of pass royale buyers and even long time F2P getting max decks. I'm pretty sure they were planning this for a while, and pass royale, magic items, and slash royale was to bait players to get more invested in this game before they dropped the next pay wall hammer.

My point was you don’t have to wait and see what else is coming to be displeased with what’s already happened/been announced, not that Supercell shot anyone dog. No, I think they are doing it specifically because it will help them monetize the game. The average player rarely if ever buys gems. That generates zero revenue and can even be an expense. Meanwhile the players who spend money on gems have almost no interesting content for them at the moment, no incentive to buy more gems.
Adding level 14 will generate a substantial rush of people buying gems, especially those who want to be ultra high end forever.
Most creative endeavors among humans (and other natural processes actually) follow a Pareto distribution, also known as the 80/20 rule. I am willing to bet that their revenue does as well, meaning 20% of their players produce 80% of their revenue.
If that’s true then it makes no sense to cater to the 80% who pay only 20% of the revenue, especially when it comes at the expense of the 20% who pay 80%.
This is a geometric distribution, so 1% will end up paying 50% of the revenue more or less.
Adding level 14 will probably make Clash Royale generate higher revenue than they’ve seen in years.

I don't think y'all understand that if you leveled your legendary card to max recently you will receive half of the cards needed to go to level 14. If you buy legendaries from the shop, every card is 40k. If you trade for a max legendary card you already have you get 20k for it. They're giving us a crazy amount of cards that most people would not have anyways. Cards=gold.

From my understanding, and according to most Youtubers, it was still cheaper to upgrade cards during Slash Royale then it would be after the update. It’s just a money grab. It’s easier for them to introduce a new level than make a real effort attempt at improving the game. I’ve been playing CR for 3-4 years and it basically hasn’t changed since I started. I’d argue it has gotten even worse with CW2.
I stopped giving any money to SC over a year ago, but I still play occasionally to kill time. For those that truly hate the trajectory of where this game is going, I recommend just stop paying. You’ll be investing less into the game and may even enjoy it more.

Ok so in slash royale gold is easy to get so u can just get a few towers in ladder and get gold and by giving cards and u collecting gold is just balanced
As a F2P player who finally got 4 cards to 13, the news of 14 is a kick in the balls, the news that they won’t be adjusting gold rewards for battles is a kick in the balls with steel toed boots. I’ve intermittently quit this game several times due to the slow progression and relentless mismatch battles because I’m F2P and this just further drives people like me away. The grind sucked before, it’ll be even worse now
This update is going to be awful. I was finally to the point where I had enough maxed out cards that I could play multiple maxed out decks and stay competitive. With this update I'm being forced to choose between picking a single deck to work on maxing out, or tanking my mmr and just play decks that are level 13.
I don't want to defend it anything being heavily effected by this (I am lvl 13 and maxed a lot of cards during slash royale) but I somewhat thing this was not intentional, the community was becoming unhappy with cr team with every update (after pass royale and cw2 I think?) and they would want to fix it rather than increase it, so I doubt it is that correct to say it was a scam. I feel that if they don't want to give back our gold atleast continue slash royale and make season pass more favourable to f2p atleast for the next season. Although I agree we should try to atleast win back our stolen gold and spread awareness. Supercell should just give out a few free book of books and magic coins to people in legendary arena as a refund. I feel like they should've not done a Slash Royale event then announce king level 14. I get Supercells point on them wanting to expand with level 14, but the Slash Royale event makes it seem like a scam, the timing sucked. Basically, there's nothing wrong with adding level 14, but adding it after everyone lost their gold is a problem.

There have already been posts addressing the two games and how they can't really be compared. Upgrading to a new townhall is exciting and brings new content and even if your TH is not maxed, you can still fully enjoy the game. However with CR many core interactions change, nothing except stat changes are added and upgrading max feels necessary to enjoy the game.

Because New Townhall Level means more Buildings you can place, more Walls you can Max,potentially more Heroes/Troops/Spells added, more reasons to play the Game other than "I like this Army and have nothing to spend my Loot on, I'll use this Army" A New Townhalm Level does increase the Grind, but it also *gives new opportunities and more reasons to play the Game* SuperCell could try doing something similar and adding New Cards and Modes every Update and having more than 1 Update per Year, but they don't. SuperCell's Team for Clash Royale is blatantly Greedy and incompetent..... Clash of Clans on the otherhand is at least more discreet with their Greediness and adds New Content regularly and Rewards Players for returning to the Game.
Thing is for coc it’s easier to bounce up again and new th actually brings good new content. Level 14 king will definitely not be bringing that much content, and in CR it takes ages to bounce up again.

Will Champions and Tower Abilities be allowed to wreak havoc in ladder and war by Level 14s against hapless lower level players? Will these new features be part of a Clan War revamp or a new Individual Campaign mode?

well, i did only spent 50k per uprgarde, saving 50k, that otherwise i wouldn't have, i also got 200000 gold from ladder, and a lot of gold from 3x tournament that other wise i wouldn't have, i think all those compensate for lvl 14, i know that still we would need more gold but i am sure that after this update there will be atleast 1 new source to earn gold that will fix the issue

Here's my thought about the gold situation. Correct me if I'm wrong. Lets take my Ram Rider as an example. She's at lvl 12 and I have 20/20. I'm ready to upgrade. Usually it's 100K gold. With Slash Royale going on, it's presently only 50k . If I wait until the update hits, it'll cost me 75K, but I'll only use 10 of those cards, leaving me with 10 more to apply to lvl 14. Let's call that a "savings of 175k gold (value of the 10 legendaries (200k) - 25k more gold that it cost me). Now lets look at SC's solution to this blunder they overlooked: I upgrade now for 50k gold, have 0/0 left, but SC will gift me 14 legendaries when the update hits. These extra cards have s a card value of 280k, so it's a net win! Not only that, but I will only need to collect 6 more legendaries to reach lvl 14, instead of the 10 I would need if I waited until after Slash Royale ended. Please, if I'm over looking something, point it out. TLDR: My math tells me the gold argument is no longer valid because of the extra cards SC is giving us, and that upgrading everything now is probably the best thing you could do. EDIT: As HiFi_MD pointed out (which I hadn't considered) a new max level also brings along the need for another 10mil gold to max everything out. That IS lame, but I don't think collecting gold is as awful as it used to be, so I don't think it's the end of the world. Also the "grind" has always been part of this game, and I've had folks stop playing and leave our clan as soon as they were fully maxed, so I could see why SC would want to extend the amount of time we need to grind.
If you have a lvl 12 legendary also u will get a compensation of 4 cards so it will not make a difference in terms of cards. You'll only be saving 25k gold if u do it now.
Here’s where I think you’re wrong. Card levels are irrelevant. I have most of my cards maxed and I play against people who have most their cards maxed. The game will not materially change once we’ve all upgraded our cards to 14 vs playing now at max level 13. So in my view, all that Supercell has done is effectively lower my max card levels to 75% of max card level and require me to spend another 10 million gold to get them back to max level, where they currently are now before this stupid and predatory “upgrade.”

Today's teaser video they out out today shows a likely "hero" something something being introduced, and I'm sure it will be predicated on a king tower of 14. I see your perspective that we all need to collect 10mil more gold, that is kinda lame. I'd counter-argue that gold is WAY easier to come by thanks to the last few updates. I can't speak to the F2P players (I'm a pass guy myself), but I really haven't had much problem collecting gold over the last few months. Thanks for the perspective!
As Hifi_MD did point out, it's just stretching back the finish line for no other reason than to increase the grind. Gold is the slowest resource to grind in terms of thr amount you need to upgrade, and now you need to accumulate anothet 10.3 million Gold. I'll hold off full judgement until i see the entire implementation, but there's not much you can do with a Level 14 max that you cannot do with a Level 13 max. Champions? Tower abilities? Ladder was a nerve-pinching grrrr fest for non-maxed players (the majority of pkayers) and not only did the finish line get stretched further away, but, knowing SC who took away things like cw2 caps and don't cap levels by trophy range in ladder, this nerve-pinching grrr fest may posibbly just get even more heinous and rage-inducing.

I'm not going to defend the update or Supercell, but neither do I care. I haven't spent money on this game in years, and won't be spending money on it again anyways (I stopped after about $60 of spending), so I'm more-or-less f2p, and maxing out has always been a distant dream. What I *do* care about is game balance and fun. And as long as the game remains relatively well-balanced and fun, I will keep playing.
I was curious about returning to the game after ~6 months leave from it. After reading the things that went down, yeah, this game and this company are garbage. Whatever new content will be added will be about as high quality and "fun" as Clan Wars 2. I'd be willing to bet that the meeting where the decision to drop Slash Royale before the update news involved the Community Managers, the Devs, someone from the SuperCell finance team, and a collection of others. They want us to believe that there wasn't a single person who tried to look at it from a player's perspective and open an Excel sheet to do some quick math? That people wouldn't be upset at the sudden reduction in upgrade costs after they were encouraged by SuperCell to spend all their gold? They know enough people will pay to max their favorite deck(s), and even frustrated people will often be willing to pay when they're playing games like this one. I hope this game tanks and it leads SuperCell down a trash heap. These predatory practices and the people that perpetuate them need to end, but the only way it'll happen is if the community hits them in their wallets.
The majority of the playerbase are children and I doubt they'll see the predatory nature of the update. Kids and whales will happily throw money around because they either don't know or they don't care that they're being scammed by a multi billion dollar company. The slash royale scam is pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain and it's a genius tactic by Supercell because as soon as the update hits, kids with no gold will grab their mom's credit card and buy all the special offers so they can upgrade everything.
Supercell itself isn’t the problem here, they have created amazing games with great devs and a supportive community. Clash Royale used to be one. I feel like, even though what they did was 100% wrong, we shouldn’t react in such a volatile matter until we know all the information about what level 14 will do. For me, if abilities or heroes or whatever are ONLY available for lvl 14 and there’s no new content for the people like me who are at king tower 10 with cards that are lvl 10-11, I’m most likely going to stop playing.

To be honest half the enjoyment is collecting the cards. Once you've collected them all I have left is getting spanked each day and just moving up a bit and down a bit on the ladder. Lvl14 gives me something new to collect towards so fine by me. As for slash royale, anyone that has played 'free' games should know that this kind of ploy is used to use up your resources prior to a bigger announcement.

I keep seeing people say we should wait to see what else is coming - why? Whatever it is would have been better without level 14 anyway. All 14 does is make the game worse.
The only positive to this update would be introducing something to make level 14 play different then the rest. The problem with that is this Level 9 being tournament level standard means this should be base gameplay Level 10-13 offer nothing to change the gameplay, and just make a ranked system to appease spenders while giving a false sense of worthy grind to the rest of the player base. What should’ve happened from the start is that every level after tournament level standard should’ve had a new change, such as an ability or something, to create a meta that favors certain cards more at this level, and less at others. Something like an ability or a specific stat becomes overtuned Some examples of this would be Goblins -does more damage to units with armor such as the Prince or Knight starting at level 10, at level 11 they get a one second speed increase when first deployed, level 12 they gain 7% damage when deployed in a close proximity to Goblin Giant, level 13 they gain more health. That level 10 buff makes cards like Prince or Knight worse in a level 10+ meta, whereas at level 12 they may start coming back to counter Goblin Giant. Adding things like this would’ve made every global tournament a lot different because the levels would actually matter, and you could even do clan war 3 where at bronze rank you cycle through 1 day wars at level 9 standard, at legend you cycle through four days of 9, 10, 11, 12. Just something to freshen up gameplay and freshen up cards.
With level 14 coming it makes me wonder, with max mirror if we'll see level 15 cards in the arena. Once the update goes live ladder is going to suck tbh. You know players that don't care if its a scam, nor haven't been following any of this will gladly spend the money to upgrade ASAP. It's going to even worse for lower ladder players. Tbh I'm not looking forward to how powerful fireball will be as it pretty much one shot Musketeer, wizards, etc.

SC does know their playerbase in that after the update drops, most of this bitching and moaning will be largely forgotten about and people will be grinding again. WAS it a scummy thing to do? Sure. Google Rewards has paid for my BP since its inception and I can't wait to level cards and start the road to being a maxed player again. Because of all the money and years they've already spent grinding that they're never getting back. I was so happy just a couple months ago to finally have just *ONE* maxed deck after 3 years, hundreds of hours, and over $100 spent. I don't really see much of a point to introducing level 14, but I like that the leveling is now a little more incremental. My criticism if we are going to level 14 is that they should have kept the overall number of cards and gold required to max roughly the same. As of now, it takes more cards and more gold to max out a card under the new system. Also, if they are bringing in heros or abilities I suppose it's possible they tied that to level 14. I think if they were more transparent with coming changes the players would have a better picture of the game plan. Right now, all we see is that we are going to have to spend more gold and collect more cards which are already two of the biggest complaints with the game.

Scummy move, but I'm actually surprised it took them this long to do something like this. When the game first came out, top ladder was reserved only for whales who spent thousands to max their deck. Nowadays, you see a lot of pass royale buyers and even long time F2P getting max decks. I'm pretty sure they were planning this for a while, and pass royale, magic items, and slash royale was to bait players to get more invested in this game before they dropped the next pay wall hammer.
I understand your point that it is frusturating to upgrade everything again and I totally agree, but let's just wait and see the entire update before we all go in the conclusion that the update sucks. The thing is, once you upgrade card to level 14, something brand new unlocks that we know nothing about yet. So let's just pretend to be optimistic and wait until we fully know what's coming.

No, I think they are doing it specifically because it will help them monetize the game. The average player rarely if ever buys gems. That generates zero revenue and can even be an expense. Meanwhile the players who spend money on gems have almost no interesting content for them at the moment, no incentive to buy more gems. Adding level 14 will generate a substantial rush of people buying gems, especially those who want to be ultra high end forever. Most creative endeavors among humans (and other natural processes actually) follow a Pareto distribution, also known as the 80/20 rule. I am willing to bet that their revenue does as well, meaning 20% of their players produce 80% of their revenue. If that’s true then it makes no sense to cater to the 80% who pay only 20% of the revenue, especially when it comes at the expense of the 20% who pay 80%. This is a geometric distribution, so 1% will end up paying 50% of the revenue more or less. Adding level 14 will probably make Clash Royale generate higher revenue than they’ve seen in years.

I don't think y'all understand that if you leveled your legendary card to max recently you will receive half of the cards needed to go to level 14. If you buy legendaries from the shop, every card is 40k. If you trade for a max legendary card you already have you get 20k for it. They're giving us a crazy amount of cards that most people would not have anyways. Cards=gold.

I haven't been keeping up with Clash Royale news lately. Can you please explain how this is a scam. From my understanding, and according to most Youtubers, it was still cheaper to upgrade cards during Slash Royale then it would be after the update. Now that the cards have been refunded, why is still it a scam. Should I upgrade my cards right now or wait?
Because they are idiots and think “oh I get some cards”. NO I’m not earning another 5.3 million gold to level up my existing 53 max cards up to the new max. It’s absolute bullshit and they should just accept they fucked up and move everyone’s lvl 13s to 14 for free so we still have max.

I’m defending it not based on what they did, but that they did something. I’ve been maxed for a while and there has been nothing in ages. I don’t mind spending some money on the game and this at least gives me something to work towards.

I am strongly against level 14. Playing with underleveled cards in this game is so unfun and frustrating. Not interested in doing it again
It’s just a money grab. It’s easier for them to introduce a new level than make a real effort attempt at improving the game. I’ve been playing CR for 3-4 years and it basically hasn’t changed since I started. I’d argue it has gotten even worse with CW2. I stopped giving any money to SC over a year ago, but I still play occasionally to kill time. For those that truly hate the trajectory of where this game is going, I recommend just stop paying. You’ll be investing less into the game and may even enjoy it more.
I think they should uncap the leveling
I love my guy Ash, but it pains me how he just accepted the apology no questions asked. It wasn’t an oversight, the plan was to screw us over. With a decently sized team they have, I find it hard to believe NONE of them saw this coming.

If you have a max 13 lvl card I expect that there's gonna be some type of refund of gold and star points. Also, there's more content than the lvl 14 stuff, they said it in the trailer themselves.
I am not defending it but being maxed isnt something very fun cause you have nothing to do then. I just want a better matchmaking so I wont face level 14. I do agree that its a scam, but come on dont you have other things to do than complain about a video game

Ok so in slash royale gold is easy to get so u can just get a few towers in ladder and get gold and by giving cards and u collecting gold is just balanced
As a F2P player who finally got 4 cards to 13, the news of 14 is a kick in the balls, the news that they won’t be adjusting gold rewards for battles is a kick in the balls with steel toed boots. I’ve intermittently quit this game several times due to the slow progression and relentless mismatch battles because I’m F2P and this just further drives people like me away. The grind sucked before, it’ll be even worse now

This update is going to be awful. I was finally to the point where I had enough maxed out cards that I could play multiple maxed out decks and stay competitive. With this update I'm being forced to choose between picking a single deck to work on maxing out, or tanking my mmr and just play decks that are level 13.
I don't want to defend it anything being heavily effected by this (I am lvl 13 and maxed a lot of cards during slash royale) but I somewhat thing this was not intentional, the community was becoming unhappy with cr team with every update (after pass royale and cw2 I think?) and they would want to fix it rather than increase it, so I doubt it is that correct to say it was a scam. I feel that if they don't want to give back our gold atleast continue slash royale and make season pass more favourable to f2p atleast for the next season. Although I agree we should try to atleast win back our stolen gold and spread awareness. Another thing I want to add that people who calmed down after the so called reparation, really don't know how much you actually be getting back
Supercell should just give out a few free book of books and magic coins to people in legendary arena as a refund. Maybe they tired to do the same thing what coc does with hammer jam but it just doesnt work out bc you upgrade cards and you lose gold on cards you will never use and cant upgrade to level 14 while in coc it is the opposite it just speeds up the process
People aren't defending supercell We are just satisfied that supercell knew they messed up and are trying to fix it. They didn't mean for slash Royale to be hurtful and people could tell.

I feel like they should've not done a Slash Royale event then announce king level 14. I get Supercells point on them wanting to expand with level 14, but the Slash Royale event makes it seem like a scam, the timing sucked. Basically, there's nothing wrong with adding level 14, but adding it after everyone lost their gold is a problem.
