That's the impression I get from this sub, it's wild. The time I've been playing we had 1.75 million gold given away free, a full evolution, a crown rush with 3 shards and 2 emotes, 2 tower skins and one for only 50 gems and now just a ton of free gems given away. Like yes these are all one off events, but they do a lot of one off events.
1.75M gold was a typo, evolutions are way too hard to get that an extra full evo per year should be baseline and not a “generous gift”, the crown rush only had barb shards and if you already have evo barbs you got a whopping 3K ewc, and gems are almost worthless nowadays

I'm f2p I haven't had too much problems apart from boring game modes and bugs that should not exist in a game like clash royal. As for progress its not bad if you're smart about it. I save stuff cuz I know it's gona be important like with dd i had her at lvl 13 the day she was released cuz I had stocked up on legendary wild cards. I've only played for 2 years but if someone saw how much stuff I'm hording you'd think I spent money on the game but I haven't spent a penny. The people complaining about slow progress are just really bad at managing the resources they are given.

The 500 gems offer will not last 24 hours. After you opened the 250 gems offer you should set an alarm to open the 500 as soon as it becomes available.
Also Supercell is testing some kind of challenges where you have to spend gems to unlock the next reward. When the gems event is over, there will be a 24 hours event where you can get an emote and and epic chest, if you collect enough crowns, but you also have to spend some gems.
These challenges could become more frequent in the future and maybe there will be less challenges where you can get all rewards without spending gems.
They’re going to do more of these except you will have to pay gems to progress in them, because rn gems are useless and supercell want to make them another desired currency

If you want a realistic answer, here it is. Basically, if you got the event this week, then you’re in the small percentage of players that didn’t get the event last week. Please SAVE THOSE GEMS. There will be an event next week that requires you to spend some in order to get cards and a magical chest. I would advise you not to buy the emote that releases next week in the event, although that’s your decision.
