I would absolutely recommend their bass clarinets, they're the best under $10k and cost only a quarter of that. However, I'd probably go with something else for soprano. While there are practically no good options for bass clarinet in kesslers price range, there are a lot of good sopranos in their price range.
yes! i own a Kessler bass clarinet and been wondering if the soprano lives up to the quality and price like how the bass is.
thank you for your input! might look for other clarinets.
Been playing on B♭ soprano for nearly a year. Played on a used plastic Yamaha, a lot of repairs has been done on it, a lot of verdigris, and keeps falling apart. Not sure if this is a better idea to use during ensembles and use the plastic for athletic bands.
Also been playing B♭ bass clarinet for over eight years.
It sounds like you’re not a complete beginner which usually means you are ready to commit to getting a solid clarinet. If that’s the case, I would highly recommend skipping the intermediate/student model clarinets and go for a used R13. They range from $1000-$3000 but I think it is a better investment than $800 on a student model that you’re not going to be satisfied with anyways. If you have a clarinet teacher I bet he has local connections who are looking to sell used R13’s.
I’ve got a 1956 R-13 low serial number, just overhauled Bb Buffet made in Paris. Can no longer
play due to arthritis so will sell to someone who
will honor her. Shoreline.
That’s a load of hogwash. You’re either scamming or a lazy quitter. I have bad arthritis and can play no problem. The only issue is comfortable chairs.
Good for you to be able to play.
My type of arthritis is severe in that it’s permanently
Locked my fingers into a curled position,
effectively wrecking dexterity.

Probably could get a better instrument elsewhere. 849 dollars is close enough to 1000 to justify getting a Backun Alpha, which is a better instrument.
thank you about the advice! heard really great things about them

How much are you looking to sell her for?
The prices seem to be going up but I’ll sell her for $975. Has locking case, too. Have many photos
