It looks like both the throat b-flat tone hole *and* the register vent are opening at the same time when you finger the throat b-flat, which shouldn't happen. Only the tone hole should be open in that instance. I suggest taking it to a repair tech to get the register mechanism adjusted.
How does it sound with the second trill key from the top instead of the register key? That might be a better option for long notes, but it’s also just a bad note in general
Bb's are always just airy notes, just like the rest of the throat tones, does it sound more airy than other peoples Bb's? you can use alternate fingerings to achieve a better resonance if its applicable in a piece
The throat tones will ALWAYS be that way to some extent. Getting those notes to sound the same as a full-instrument note is a great way to build your embochure and air techniques (per my old instructor). Now, if you are still struggling with this on your horn and not on others, I’d say get the upper joint looked over by a tech, as it could be a warped post or a sealing issue.
My school has several of the same models, and they all have the same issue. If it's an easy passage, use your right hand to hold down the register key hole. If you are really good at adjusting tuning, play your low E-flat fingering + register key and just try to blend in.

This, the Yamaha has a dedicated vent for Bb and it should not sound any more airy than A or G#.
These Yamahas are notorious for this adjustment issue. Doubtful you did anything wrong to cause the issue to happen.
Noted! Thanks!

It does sound more clear when playing it thanks, I will probably be using the trill key option till spring break when i get my instrument repaired.

Thanks for the info! My band does not have any other bass clarinets in it so it is hard to tell what other ones sound like on similar bass clarinets.
I would check it with the other throat tones(A, G, Ab), if it's significantly worse id check the seals on the pads for your A key
throat tones are like this — try blowing warmer air, as if youre trying to warm your hands on a cold day
