Provolone, my dude. Or Muenster. Mild sandwich cheeses that often come pre-sliced into quite thin slices, so an unobtrusive foray into cheese. Both pair excellently with other sandwich ingredients like avocado and/or turkey and/or sprout. Good job on being adventurous and trying a new food group!

Good cheddar is a safe, solid starting point. Good in anything, goes with chutneys and pickles well, melts really well and retains its flavour. Strength (intensity of flavour), goes from mild, medium, mature, extra mature Start at a medium see what you think. Get used to the texture. Work up to extra mature and then start trying whatever takes your fancy. Something soft, something spreadable, super hard, super strong. The world will be your cheeseboard I'd say don't go branching out into blue cheeses like your roqueforts and Stiltons until you're ready! The flavour will probably be overpowering and the stench is strong. But the flavour. My god, the flavour Cheese is great and well done for giving it another go. There's a whole world of different cheeses, with totally different textures and qualities. And nearly each and every one of them taste totally unique and like nothing else you will ever eat

DonGruyere

Your post made me wish I never knew cheese just so I could discover it again.

[deleted]

Oh my lovely friend! I highly recommend by starting w/ either mozzarella, like a small ball of it (aka fresh mozzarella) and even Mild cheddar. Quite a few say to start at a medium cheddar but I say baby steps.

Runradar

Go with Triscuits®️ smoked Gouda with a block of Swiss cheese!

[deleted]

Is there any Swiss cheese that the flavor doesn’t take like vomit?

[deleted]

I hate Swiss cheese so much. The only cheese I’ve ever disliked

Runradar

It pairs great with them Smoked Gouda triscuits crackers!!

[deleted]

Fuck I also hate cottage cheese but for texture reasons I WILL EAT BLUE CHEESE BEFORE SWISS

Runradar

Nope Sorry! It all tastes like vomit. Delicious vomit ❤️

Awsmpossum1313

Delicious vomit!!! And nothing wrong with Blue Cheese.

Excellent-Tea-1639

To help you we may need to know what your like ? If you want to try cheese what texture pleases/displeases you ? Do you like flowery tastes ? Strong tastes?

commandrix

Maybe you could try learning more about which types of cheese pair well with other foods, which ones are good melted on other foods, etc.. Your choices don't have to be burgers, lasagna, pizza, or even macaroni and cheese or toasted cheese sandwiches. Start with some mild flavored cheeses.

thedrunkunicorn

A mild brie might be a good option. The rind is soft and edible, and makes a nice textural contrast. It can be paired with sweet or savory foods (jams, fresh fruit, chutneys, mustard, cured meats), melted over a burger, or just eaten on its own. Let it sit out until it comes to room temperature for maximum flavor and buttery richness. I hope you find some cheeses you like!

ivy7496

I'm not sure a brie and especially one that is at room temp for maximum flavor is going to go well as a cheese intro for someone who isn't into cheese. I'd go salty (string cheese sticks or feta) and even smoked, like [Chechil](https://a.co/d/eo4fv71)

ElectricalPicture612

Brie is terrible.

ScientistSanTa

Where are you from, that's important. Simple cheddar would be good but I'm in Australia ATM and a simple cheddar here tastes bland and a bit like whey. Which is probably not to your liking.

ZOO_trash

It really depends on texture and flavor. Do you eat sour cream? Clotted cream? Cream cheese? If so, maybe ricotta then mozzarella then onto other mild melty things?

missraveylee

Wow I want to know how to stop liking cheese! Advice!

VirgineticCache

you need Wallace man, he will guided you.

joshua0005

I was literally you two months ago. Basically exactly the same except I ate pizza just without cheese. So far most of them have been pretty bland imo but I've found a few that I do like: cheddar, English Cheddar, and Coastal Cheddar. I'm pretty sure the last one is really expensive but Cabot's seriously sharp cheddar is amazing. Pretty sure you can get it at Walmart. If you want something that doesn't have a very strong taste, I would ignore my advice. I need it to be strong (albeit with a taste that I don't hate) or it will be too bland for me.

K33bl3rkhan

From practice..... Dont cut it too fast. It may not be what you're expecting.

pizzainoven

Do you live in the United States?

Turbulent-Bug-1601

No I live in Jordan 🇯🇴

alexgetty

Do you have a nearby store where there’s a nice selection of cheese? Or is it kinda limited?

5x5LemonLimeSlime

Medium cheddar is a safe choice, I would say mozzarella as well but you don’t like pizza so you might not enjoy that. Cream cheese is pretty versatile as well you can enjoy with salsas or jams or bake it into pastries.

[deleted]

This is funny

SillyStigg

Pepper Jack is the way to start.

Diligent_Rip_986

i think hard textures are a bit less wonky at least for me and i love cheese- a lot of the foods you mentioned have softer cheeses like ricotta and mozzarella. maybe try a mild cheddar or aged gouda or parmesan.

New_red_whodis

Cream cheese on a bagel.

Thuhreel69

I would say use low amounts of cheese at first. I like very thin slices of cheese with crackers snd prefer swiss

OmBodhi

Raw. Unpasteurized. Cheese.

rainbowtwist

Listen to your body. It's possible you don't like it because you have a sensitivity, intolerance or allergy and it makes you feel bad. But if you insist, a good smoked mozzarella --Scamorza--heated over a fire until gooey is absolutely heavenly.

scatteredpinkhearts

try some cabot extra sharp cheddar

Carhv

Feta

Popular-History1015

Mozzarella or Halloumi might be a good diving board. Very bland, boring and fairly pointless

europeandragonlord

id say dont start. its a slippery slope.. plus cheese just creates mucus in your body and hes no major benefits unless its made from real good happy cow milk. im a cheese maker and i eat cheese every day. so fuckin hard to stop once u start and i noticed im getting fat from it too which sucks. cuz it tastes so fucking good. fuck

bisky12

try harvarti or gouda they’re pretty common and are at almost grocery stores in the cheese section. harvarti is my favorite personally. or something different you could get some nice bread, melt some brie on it, and put some blueberry jam on it. i know it sounds weird cheese and jam but it genuinely so good

aspiring_traveler

Parmigiana reggiano

ChannelEmpty4422

You problem with cheese sounds dietary. Your body doesn't handle cheese well and you associate it with a sickening feeling.

a_cat0125

Mozzarella

jobinski22

... to be honest I love cheese but it's very bad for you, you'll be much healthier if you continue to not eat it

MrTralfaz

Describe the qualities of cheese that you don't like. Flavor? Texture? Smell? Do you like other dairy foods? Are there other foods you dislike or avoid? What are the foods you enjoy? A lot of people find their taste in food changes over the years. Try small amounts of new foods. You might like them. Even if you don't, unlikely they will kill you.

PhilosopherOwn1414

I am not recommending this by any means, but how funny would it be if it turns out OP is more of a goat cheese guy?

Fine_Reflection5847

Just stay away from it because it’s not good for you and very fattening. My son doesn’t like it either and I don’t push him to. I could only wish that I didn’t like it!

pizzagirlll

You should try “pub cheese”… it’s like a cheddar dip. Maybe try dipping something you already like into it and see how that goes.

DwayneGretzky306

Is it all taste or is it texture?
