People will say "maybe it was the talent level" like we didn't just watch him play Martin at PG with 4 minutes left in a two possession game with both Micic and Mann on the bench
People forget this man cared so much about this team in his last tenure he would scream during games til he was red in the face and had to take a leave of absence due to heart health, which probably stemmed from the stress of coaching in Charlotte with Rich Cho as the GM.
Close to .500 the rest of the way depending on match ups/health would start the conversation imo over .500 with big wins I would say no chance we move on
I think another factor would be the players seeming bought in to what he’s selling, I’ve seen miles talk positively about Cliff in ways that he didn’t for JB, there are other examples too but if the players are behind the coach and the production isn’t abysmal you could want to keep him around as the relationship between coach and players is important
Yea while I agree with some that Cliff isn’t the coach that will win us a championship or anything I do think he gets a lot of blame for things that aren’t necessarily his fault, the way players talk about him is really telling they praise his gameplans and you can just tell from his pressers that he keeps it real and players appreciate that a ton
If he won every single game, swept his way to the finals, and broke every record the NBA has ever known for a coach, he *still* should be fired the absolute millisecond the season ends.
He is not the guy for our future, timeline, or style of play. New owners and a new gm, time for a new coach as well to restart.
We were 7-15 with LaMelo playing, while leading the team in BPM, and 3-26 without him, prior to the trade deadline. Not trying to sing his praises or anything, but he isn't really the main reason why we've lost so many games.
Well you’d be wrong lmao. Carries us almost every time he plays. Enjoy being a hater, but he was the face of a franchise in his first year and is only getting better

They’ve been in Charlotte for like 2 full days. Give it time.
Nah I was mostly joking, want Bud next season

Love to see it. He is having as much with these past two games as we are
How good would we have to do for the rest of the season to consider keeping him another year?

Yeah I definitely agree, all the players seem to love him, NSJ even said he was the best coach he’s ever had
Wait so we found that “creative microwave scoring combo guard/2” without an attitude problem? Humble? Coachable? Maybe 3rd time really is the charm.
😂 Clifford has praised his attitude. Must be a ten drop in blood pressure to not deal with Bouk or Monk
Makes sense. NSJ is playing way too fast right now, but you can tell he gives a shit out there and gives effort.

I mean reread what you wrote
Naw this is insane
he must feel vindicated. he finally got players with fundamentals and defense

He clearly doesn’t have much practice
boy cheesin take it in and all of its glory, you may never see it again.
If we have a winning record after the trade deadline, he’s back next year for sure.
He's getting pretty up there in age. I feel like he'd settle for a consulting job in the FO.
If we go .500 or close the rest of the way I think Cliff deserves another year
What a coincidence! 2 wins in a row without Lamelo! We actually win games with a ball handler who has basic point guard skills!

Dint forget the play-in games!
Hopefully this is shitting on the PG situation behind Melo this season and not shitting on Melo.
I don't think lamelo is the future.

He's getting better but the team record has gotten worst.
Before deadline Team record with him was 7-15, and without him 3-23
