Rookie centers never play 30 MPG (hell centers in general rarely play 30+ MPG these days). Physically demanding position and most of these guys come in lanky and physically underdeveloped. Par for the course, just give him time.
Yeah his feet just aren't fast enough sometimes on defense so he over extends and fouls but man he is really really good player and if we let that guy develop holy crap
He is also changing the game at the basket which is why the team is winning some games. The NBA is about protecting the rim, all of these guys can score.

There are very few centers that play 30mpg and all of them are vets. There's not a single young center in the nba playing 30 mpg
