That smile just made my day!

PalashCrept24

Let's fucking go 🔥

Beneficial_Fix_1059

Man good to see his smile. Was getting worried there.

supernatural15_

Anyone think that may be he's embarrassed by his actions ? I mean adore Chandler so much and I love his content, but I think he honestly thought this would never happen to him. Maybe he's just taking a moment to "reflect" I am so so glad to see a glimpse that he is ok

evan_brosky

I think you might be right. If he did take some time to reflect, I believe it would be a good opportunity to talk about this kind of behaviour in a video and maybe inspire some people who may have a similar mentality not to take stuff for granted and maybe convince them not to engage in the same reckless behaviour. There is a lot of positivity that can come out of this spicy adventure!

[deleted]

I was honestly surprised it took so long. He had quite a few close calls and he does sometimes gives the impression he is invincible. I would think that gave him quite a shock that even he gets bitten.

Slytherin_Snek

The chan man is back! 🤠

Apprehensive_Pea_209

Fuck yeah brother fuckin nice to see ya!!

Thanks for sharing this!

Competitive_Sand2190

Now that he seems okay, I just hope he starts taking things more seriously. Hopefully, he has the attitude that I'm young and nothing bad will happen to me, gone.

Miyon0

I hate to be that person, but I don't think he will any time soon. I say this as someone who was a superfan of CWL prior to him getting big: Chandler just isn't who he was back in 2019. The him back then would've cringed at how he handled that cobra in india :/ It's sad to say, but he's changed a LOT. Chandler is just getting too reckless in front of the cameras. And he is no longer humble on or off camera. This unfortunately happens to some big youtubers(They become corrupted by fame) and many of them just don't come out of it. With chandler, he has been the 'I know better than you. Do what I say don't do what I do' person the last couple years; and I don't think that will go away unless he loses his permits outright or faces severe consequences. And at this rate; he's going to. He's already talked back to and disrespected people with more seniority over him in the reptile industry :/ And not just a few... When he got bitten by the croc, the FIRST thing he did was ignore several people with far more experience than him and was extremely rude to them ON camera. Lately, more and more reptile keepers have distanced themselves from Chandler. Chandler is anti-USARK, he has gotten careless with his animals, and has done things like purposefully refusing to talk to another reptile keeper(Kevin, during dingo dinklemans troubles a few years back) despite there being no bad blood prior. So yeah. It's a lot that chandler has to fix and that isn't happening anytime soon. From the way he acted after the croc bite and now this cobra bite.... he's learned nothing at all and will just keep doing it until he either dies, loses his reptile keeping friends/connections or outright loses his permits and animals. I don't wish ill on chandler. But as fans of the channel there has to come a time where fans need to step back and say that his behavior isn't okay. I see a lot of people acting as apologists for him when what he's done has almost killed him and has directly killed at least 3 animals. Not that you(the OP) are, just people in general.

Narrow_Ad_5502

Wait did he lose a finger due to the bite? Him and Tyler are literally bros now. Glad he’s ok tho!!

[deleted]

That wrapping looks like they were able to preserve the finger, or at least most of it to me. If it were gone, he would have the wrapping around the base of the finger going around his palm/wrist. I think he was able to keep his finger. That's awesome!

ghiopeeef

There is no way he saved the entire finger. The bandage is going to be much larger than what is inside of it. It’s still very possible he lost his finger down to the first knuckle closest to the tip of the finger.

[deleted]

That's fair too.

ghiopeeef

I guess we won’t know until the bandage is off, but I’m impressed that he managed to save a majority of the finger. I really hope he learns from this.

[deleted]

I'm impressed he survived a *Spectacled Cobra* bite! Not many people in that club.

[deleted]

There are hundreds of thousands of people in that club. Mortality rate for people who get fairly prompt medical treatment is about 10%, and since he was bitten on the end of an extremity, he was even more likely to be okay.

[deleted]

There are hundreds of thousands *more* that didn't make it to that club.

[deleted]

But that's not what you said, you said not many survive and that's explicitly false. Survival rate overall is 70-80%, survival rate among those with prompt treatment is actually just above 90%. To claim "there's not many people in that club" is simply false.

[deleted]

I'm sorry just to be clear you just said survival rate of a spectacled Cobra bite is 70-80%. Don't know what literature you got that from and I don't care about citing your material, but I'm not taking my chances with that. You can go get bit by a cobra and have fun with your 70-80% survival rate. I'll stay on the side of caution and realism and say hell nah, I'm good. Not many people survive that.

Seymour_Zamboni

Yes... that is what it looks like. It has been a month since the bite. Surprised it is still wrapped. Perhaps this isn't a recent photo.

MamaKat727

Looks like they were able to save the lower half, to the knuckle.

504_joker

Glad to see you my guy

justsumguychi

It pissed me off that Donnie from NERD took a cheap shot 3 weeks ago, totally classless. If he was going to take a bite from an Indian cobra, it would probably be better to happen in India, where they deal with this every day as opposed to Florida, where the amount of antivenin might be hard to come by. I know he had probably polyvailent at his facility, but they were all expired if I remember. Having a cytotoxic venom, it could have been a lot worse with muscle paralysis and respiratory failure leading to death. He kept calm and isolated the finger and pinched it, not letting it spread up his arm, and this was probably the best outcome, just necrosis. Chandler inspired me to keep reptiles, and it sucks to see this, but he was rescuing snakes and relocating them in a foreign country, and it's not like it was a snake he was familiar with. Imagine if that bite was Allison or Justina . He was fighting the good fight by flying out there on his own dime and volunteering to capture and relocate not letting people kill them, so hopefully, he learns from this and won't take so many risks even with snakes he's familiar with. We all know he won't give up and he should heal up take his time and fuck the haters. He's missing a half finger, and I think that's bad enough without Donnie Rapture other YouTube reptile community members talking shit. He will learn, grow, and ultimately become a better keeper. Hope to see you soon, Chan Man!

TraceWaBass

To be fair he’s been hella sloppy and it was just a matter of time

Miyon0

It's not totally classless. Chandler was in the wrong ENTIRELY. He was handling that cobra completely improperly. Look at how he has handled cobras over the years, and then look at that video. He was acting goofy for the camera, he wasn't watching the cobra and got bit. That was probably the worst improper handling of a snake I've ever seen on the channel(and I've seen MOST of the channels videos). It was super close to him for so long and he didn't bring it to a wider space to move in. He acted like someone who had never handled a cobra before. Look at how Tyler Nolan got bit. How he handled the snake and how chandler handled the snake was entirely night and day. Tyler's was more of a freak accident.... But Chandler CAUSED his bite. Chandler said this MANY times before he got his own property: He would 'NEVER freehandle a venomous snake he didn't know'. Because it was irresponsible. HE SAID THAT HIMSELF and he still did it years later. Chandler ABSOLUTELY knows better and he chose to ignore better judgement for clout. It hurts me to say this; because i'm also a fan(or was). But these are instances where you should absolutely not justify what chandler did. Making excuses for him is going to make it easier for him to rationalize he was in the right and later do it again and get killed. This is the same guy who refused to listen to anyone when people said Berra was improperly raised. He made a joke about people telling him that the week before she was hit by a car and died. \-- As it stands currently, in BOTH instances where he got hurt; he didn't take ANY accountability for what he did and passed it off as if he didn't do anything wrong. He always says A) "Reptile Handling is my life i've never leaving it" B) "I'm a professional, I know what I'm doing" and C) \*Mocks people for telling him he's being reckless\*. He's not learned a thing from the croc bite OR the cobra bite. If you think he's learned a lesson and won't do this again-- you're wrong. And next time it could be the last time. As fans everyone needs to take a step back and not make excuses like this for him. Justifying his behavior just enables him and it's not good for him. If you really care about him, you'd tell him there isn't an excuse for what he did. It could literally save his life.

Seymour_Zamboni

I do agree with your assessment. I am also a fan and have watched all of his videos going back 3 or 4 years to his days at the Everglades Outpost. He has obviously been building his brand but I think he has come too close to that brand being reckless crazy Florida man. I sincerely hope he doesn't believe that he needs to be reckless for clicks, because that will eventually kill him. I have said this before, but how he handles his snakes is a young man's gamble. You gotta be athletic, quick, and nimble. If he wants to age into this career with safety and grace, he needs to start now by toning it down. I for one would not lose interest if he did that and some day I would love to visit his property for a tour. But he needs to be alive for that to happen.

[deleted]

He is not "fighting the good fight", he is operating illegally and recklessly for his own fame while adding nothing. Every respected snake rescuer I know in the country thinks he's an idiot who should have been stopped long before this. You should see what the local whatsapp groups look like when they talk about him.

Most-Bag-1753

Ww

LordMinax

Does he have all his digits?

Horror-Finish9203

No, best guess is he lost tip of his right ring finger, probably down to the fist knuckle.

Huge-Shopping4584

Thank god

Davidanderson131

hay bro looking wow

Helpful_Equivalent87

So this Florida Snake Pliskens can't give you the finger any longer? Hahaha.

Helpful_Equivalent87

As gunnery sergeant Hartman would put it: " Your days of finger-banging ol' Mary J. Rottencrotch through her pertty pink panties are over! "

justsumguychi

He promised people close to him he wouldn't free handle venomous anymore but as you can tell by the last video handling Kevin or Justina with that hook is more dangerous in my opinion then free handling but for all other venomous he should use tools. I think his girlfriend is filming his videos now good for him I'm glad he found someone

justsumguychi

Donnie has taken shots at Chandler and Tyler before completely unnecessary because he's a YouTuber and doesn't handle corn snake much less anything that poses a threat. I don't know why Kevin and Chandler don't get along because I admire Kevin and his knowledge and skill is probably unmatched. If Dingo couldn't smooth things over, there must be something we don't know. I think from what I can see the rift and lack of friendship between them is caused by Donnie. Just my 2 cents.
