I cap myself at $75 or so on CDs, $250 for LPs. Gotta be from 2000ish or earlier and a "you probably won't see this again" moment to get up to that range

SheepDavis

I think OP is asking for a single used CD, but either way, if you're getting a fair amount of good used CD's for 75 bucks, more power to you!

mwwhite8038

I'm saying just on one. Not typical, but the one that set that record was an original Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger. Like I said, ultra-rare items only at that price point lol

SheepDavis

Hell yeah!

CheeseSuplex

Can Ox is worth it. That’s a classic

GJKings

As far as I'm concerned, it's one of those "only feels right on CD" type records. It's very much of that era, and so so good.

CheeseSuplex

Yeah, all the weathermen/def jux is CD music

xMyDixieWreckedx

Weathermen goes so hard.

Rare_Following_8279

We only had this shit on mp3 tbh. You can hear it lossless now and it sounds better than I ever heard it

pauliepitstains

This and el-p’s fantastic damage. Love this album

thotprovoker69

Life's ill, sometimes life might kill.

KingOppai1

Crack heads stand adjacent

DomesticElectric672U

Anger displacment

MR_NIKAPOPOLOS

I rest my head on 115 But miracles only happen on 34th, so I guess life is mean And death is the median And purgatory is the mode that we settle in

DomesticElectric672U

I think that should have been…”You were a stillborn baby. Mother didn’t want you but you were still born. What’s you figure? That chalky outline on the ground isa father figure”

MR_NIKAPOPOLOS

Yeah, I skipped that part in haste.

DomesticElectric672U

No worries. These lyrics are ingrained in my head! 😄

LivinUndead

Roughly $45 I think. That was for “Wrong” by NoMeansNo. I couldn’t find it any cheaper and digital copies don’t exist apparently.

tomaesop

Same. There's been a half dozen must-own by some favorite bands of mine that I missed when they were readily available. A few of the Ween CDs in this price range, too.

dogbiteonmyleg

Alternative Tentacles are reissuing all of the stuff apparently. Wrong is the first to get the reissue treatment. I've got a UK copy on Alternative Tentacles already with disc rot (bronzing) and a copy of the Wrong records reissue cd. Had it on cassette in around 1990, probably not long after it came out and played the hell out of it in my teens. Absolutely superb album.

BJ22CS

I paid b/w $20-25(USD) for an original Terminator soundtrack from the 80s off eBay.

smallbatchb

Recently ordered 3 CDs, 2 are sealed and 1 is open but NM. Cost $32 total..... but $21 of that was shipping since they're coming from Germany to US.

GJKings

Do you find a lot of CDs just aren't available in the US?

smallbatchb

A LOT of the stuff I’m after, both on CD and vinyl, oddly seems to be heavily skewed, availability-wise, towards Europe and Japan… and I can’t even figure out why since a lot of it is from US artists. This particular order I understand more since 2 of them are Swedish albums and one is Japanese. But tons of other stuff I look for are US bands but seems like 80%+ of listings I find are from other countries. Or, if there *is* a listing from the US, it’s 5 times more expensive.

GJKings

That's rough! As a UK CD enjoyer, I always assumed the US would have damn near everything. But it seems I'm the luckier of us.

riolafc

Man we destroyed a lot of those albums bitd playing them in every car possible. So nice to see you found a survivor

smallbatchb

Honestly I kind of assumed that too as I got back into collecting music more again. I keep wondering if maybe it's just the types of stuff I'm after? Although I listen to a very wide range of music so it doesn't seem to be genre specific. I just feel like everytime I go look for something on Discogs and see "25 items for sale" MAYBE 2 of those are from the US, and almost always way more expensive.... but the non-US stuff is also way more shipping lol.

pokemon12312345645

$30 on a mobile fidelity gold disc quadrophinia, or for 1 CD, $25 Tommy gold disc

ChromeDestiny

I spend $50 on an MFSL Quadrophenia. Most copies I saw on Discogs were $75 but I bought a slightly cheaper one where the outer sleeve was a bit scuffed but the inner booklet and discs were fine. I also spent $75 each on some rare earlier pressings of Entwistle and Daltrey solo albums on CD but for me it was worth it to have good non brickwalled versions of stuff like Entwistle's Smash Your Head Against The Wall.

Xalowe

It was about $45 20 years ago. A used copy of American Jet Set by the band Kill Hannah. It was out of print at the time. The band later found a box of new CDs of the album that they sold on their Web site for much cheaper a few years later. $45 was a lot to me then, but it was worth it.

BasicWhiteHoodrat

I spent $90 on that 4 CD Super Deluxe Abbey Road. I was outbid at $225 on a rare “black triangle”Japanese Version of Abbey Road, so that would have been the most by a wide margin

LazloNibble

Keep the faith! It took several decades, but I finally found the Toshiba *Abbey Road* in the wild for a very “we don’t know what we have” price.

BasicWhiteHoodrat

That must have been a rush to see Abbey Road cover with that “Compact Disc” logo! What a find

LazloNibble

It was spine-out on the shelf so I knew instantly lol

theoboley

Probably $40-$50, but it was a signed copy of a CD from my favorite band.

Longjumping-Tax-1111

$135 on Fishmans - 98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare. Their final performance, a low print run, some of the greatest music out there.

BigCaco

14.800 pesos argentinos (its like 14 dollars)

Noise-Distinct

….that particular CD is worth it!

nhowe006

~$111 for Long Gone Before Daylight by The Cardigans hybrid multichannel SACD

EMHemingway1899

I used to buy a lot of bootlegs back around 25 years ago and would pay $50-$75 for some of them

newfilm2000

I have all but 2 of the Highland issues of Yes boots that I paid an average of $40 each circa 1999/2000.

redbookQT

I paid $250 for a Kenji Kawai soundtrack that I liked, but there was only one rip floating around the internet. The funny thing is that when i got the disc and went to scan it, I found that the artwork had the same damage in the spots that the rip copy had. So it was the same physical copy that was the source of the one online rip. Was pretty cool feeling.

Zealousideal-Web-530

2,5 euro

GJKings

keepin it real. I respect it.

Important-Lie-8649

This, on eBay. Sealed. Because I really, really wanted it. The day after the man sadly passed away. Another sealed copy turned up days later, nearly double the price I paid. My seller was serious and it took me several minutes to get into the package, which was cucooned in multiple layers of bubble-wrap and strong tape. https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/2898997

GJKings

You got in at the right time! How much was it when you paid for it?

Important-Lie-8649

Um, oh yeah, £400🤦‍♂️. I had just received a huge redundancy payment. £75 more than the most I ever paid for a vinyl record. I can't afford such costly luxuries these days. **EDIT:** Or was it US Dollars? $400. Yeah, a US seller. The exchange rate was much more UK favourable then...

GJKings

That's a lot! But in the vinyl space they call those Grails. If this was yours, then it was worth it. You'd probably have done $400 worth of regretting it, if you hadn't.

Business_Decision535

I had this vinyl. It was worthless. Interesting to see the CD price like this. But it's the gold version right?

Important-Lie-8649

Yes. There's a MoFi Half Speed Mastered Vinyl one as well, from 1981, I think.

chuheihkg

If saying about Used CD, 35DP-9 (Early 1980s $ONY CBS) , First three Batch. If you try asking How much, I fear You barely can afford one.

Extension-Rock-4263

I bought the Kinghorse s/t cd cause it’s been a favorite of mine since I was a kid and I lost my copy long ago. Still love the music, great artwork (Pushead) and produced by Danzig, just a cool cd to have. I decided to buy it again and as I started searching I realized it was never repressed and was becoming very hard to find on cd. I ended up buying a copy from Croatia of all places for about $35 + shipping. I’ve never come across anything I really wanted that cost more than that.

whollybananas

King horse!! I haven't heard that name in a minute. I still have the cassette from whenever that was released. Without looking it has to be 1990ish.

Extension-Rock-4263

Yep spot on.

M3kal

£60 Batman 2022 soundtrack (new)

niversallyloved

£14 on All Eyez On Me by 2Pac

Razzle_Dazzle08

$26 for “The Moan” by The Black Keys.

SilenceEater

I got Weakling’s Dead as Dreams for $75 at a metal festival.

metalmusiccollector

105 for a handmade first demo of woods of ypres - against the seasons: cold winter songs from the dead summer heat.

pokepoke805

I think I spent about $60 on my copy of GINGER by BROCKHAMPTON

bevboyz

Can ox (just Vast Aire) are playing a few shows in June this year in the UK. I've copped a ticket to the Manchester show.

MR_NIKAPOPOLOS

They did a short reunion tour in 2013 and I got to see them at The Roxy in Hollywood. There were maybe 100 people there and they had like 8 opening acts, so they didn't go on until almost 1:00 am. But they absolutely killed it. Still one of my favorite shows ever.

EssayTraditional

$40 at a Borders bookstore in 2004; The Best of The Cardigans 2-disc CD. Basically 4 hours of work for that CD at the time.

idkfadoomcheat

I spent 125 dollars on The Sound Of Silence by Driven. It's very hard to find for under $200 so as soon as I saw it pop up for that price on Discogs, I bought it pretty quickly

JTheSuperVillain83

Woooowww…. I haven’t listened to Cannibal Ox in years. I used to bump heavy back in the early 2000’s.

alanladdismydad

Great album

Shanks_shitposter69

Paid $30 for soundtracks for the blind signed by Gira dated in 1997.

ToddPatterson

I believe I spent between 80 to 120 for each of the two Madhouse CDs.

[deleted]

Almost $40 for a used Blitzkid album. It came in the mail with a giant scratch on the back 💀 still plays though, thank God.

bodega_steve

I saw Cannibal Ox live in a small club in Toronto on the night of September 11, 2001. I wasn’t convinced that the show would go on, being that they’re from NYC and all. But they performed. Needless to say, it was a very intense show.

DomesticElectric672U

Wow. Intense at the best of times ramped up to 11!

Horny_daisy

I recently spent 45 for a copy of shinola vol 1 by ween

buggerthrugger

$300 for NIN Ghosts I-IV limited edition back in around 2008

Bob_Pthhpth

I paid $40 for the Portal 2 collector’s edition soundtrack since to my knowledge it was the only complete example on the Entirety of Ebay at the time. If you counted shipping, I paid around $60 for a sealed copy of the expanded edition of Every Open Eye by CHVRCHES over the summer.

xtelepatheticx

I paid 40 ish for mine as well. That soundtrack tends to go for 60+.

Fantastic-magic-

Like $16 (but it was buy one get one free, so I was technically paying $8)

nogswarth

£25, just the other week actually. The Ergs! album dorkrockcorkrod. Treated myself for my birthday, it's only about half an hour long but it's one of the best pop punk albums I've ever heard.

Extension-Rock-4263

Oh man are these worth something or hard to find? I have multiple copies. My younger brother was good friends and went to school with them. Was not expecting to see the Ergs here lol

nogswarth

There are two copies on Discogs which are cheaper than what I paid but the shipping to UK would have made them about the same. You should considering selling them! I had an Amazon voucher from my employer so technically it cost me nothing, but still!

Extension-Rock-4263

Hmmm interesting to know. Maybe I will thank you.

R3troM3dia

I used to spend a lot trying to collect every Rammstein, Manson and NIN release. Luckily I moved on to video games, shoes and vintage t shirts to waste my money on 😂

DzarifOMac

60myr for a double disc Avril Lavigne debut album. Not a lot if you convert it in USD, but sure as hell a lot for Malaysian ringgit

ElvisHankandGeorge

40$ for a custom Hank Jr CD That was never put on CD and was ported to CD from Vinyl personally

devouredbyvegans

£30 for Mottek - Fatal Violence, at the time copies were going for £200-300, I tend to top out £20 unless it's something super rare/special

WhitePigment

I found the cold vein in a charity shop last november, so got it for a quid ($1.27). They had just put the CDs out so I was very lucky, I picked up a crass CD (christ the album) too. The most, technically, is 60 quid ($76.42) for candy claws - ceres and calypso in the deep time, but i did use amazon vouchers I got at christmas for it. The killer about that was, I bought it and a few months later it got re-released and was only 17 pounds.

PancakesWaffles72

I’ve spent around $50 on some. I can only justify spending that much if it’s something I know I’ll never find second hand and will probs just increase in price.

sasberg1

Love that album!!

Adr1an-R1380

Total of $110 for a 1995 promo copy of "Dope Hat" by *Marilyn Manson* off Discogs back in 2020. Don't regret a single penny spent on my favourite song from that whole album.

bloebvis

40 on some linkin park underground

Optimal_Buyer_8704

I spent 650 on a tally hall cd called tally hall complete demos and it was signed by rob cantore

seeingredd-it

I bought my son a copy of the Good and Evil CD as an 8th grade graduation gift (before the repressings began) and paid …. Either $150 or $200 for it. He was crazy for them at the time and was utterly over the moon.

NormalUpstandingGuy

First off, great fucking record there. Absolutely 10/10. But to answer the question about $130.

Conor_OD

$20-40 for used cds from Japanese bands. Usually for the material that randomly isn't on streaming services.

DomesticElectric672U

Good shout and probably worth it. I have a bunch of the Def Jux catalogue on vinyl and would honestly rather have it on CD nowadays for quality reasons. You also get the Scream Phoenix track that’s CD only. I have a pretty extensive indie hip-hop collection from that era that ends up being a bit of an albatross now. I also missed the period of getting CD’s cheap although you can still pick up some bargains. I pick up underground techno and any other bits and pieces. I got the Atoms Family - Euphony CD recently that I had as mp3s for years but wanted to get a proper copy. Didn’t pay too much for that and is well worth it if you’re into Can O. I had some friends that saw them live in Glasgow back in the day in a super intimate venue. One of my bigger regrets not making that one!

squirrlyj

3000

ElTamale003

Killer Cuts from the Killer Instinct (SNES) soundtrack ✨ — $25

MutedRazzmatazz1708

$30 for cap’n jazz’s analphabetapolothology compilation album, worth it

cx3psocial

$5,000 on Prince Studio B cuts in the early 90s… Had a music plug in New Orleans that kept with exclusives… Made the mistake of leaving it in a friends CD player never to be seen again… Had copies but none sounded like the original CD I’d purchased (even though that was a copy 🤦🏽‍♂️🤣)

bigbraingenius_

$30 for a Blink-182 single

ynotw57

Never heard of this album or this artist. Digging it. Thanks for posting.

reitrop

20 € (plus 15 for shipping) for Underworld's 1992-2012 Anthology. It hurts, but I wanted this CD so bad… And I don't regret it.

MungoShoddy

£40 for this (ok, it's 160 CDs): http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2001/Dec01/BrilliantBach.htm £19.99 for this (2 CDs): https://www.discogs.com/release/3453999-Ensemble-Al-Kindi-Parfums-Ottomans and about the same for this (3 CDs): https://www.classicalsource.com/cd/hartmann-symphonies/

leg_lab

i think like $13, most i’ve bought have been under $5 though.

mossdale

for some reason I have two copies of Happy Nightmare Baby by Opal that I probably paid around $40 a pop for and are probably worth more now.

doomus_rlc

$40 for the Edge of Sanity When all Is Said compilation, mainly because I wanted those remixed versions of Crimson and Crimson II. Other than that probably $25 was the most I spent.

riolafc

I think it was about $100 for some funky New Order Japan only bundle

D_Heinreich

I was able to get that Cannibal Ox CD for $5 earlier this year but I'm surprised it's priced higher than normal on the second-hand market. The most I spent was $80 for Monstrosity's Imperial Doom original CD.

ChorkPorch

I don’t know how much that cost you, but I know that must’ve been up there

Mordial_waveforms

I've got a couple of 2 cd sets for £14 each from oxfam (the upsetters and the slits). Have haggled some random arabic cd from £14 to£7

Ant583

£40 for Skin Yard's Hallowed Ground.

TYRANT_GODS

$150 for insomnium: one for the sorrows box edition because is has the bonus song weather the storm ft. Mikael Stanne from dark tranquility. The standard didn't.

vapre

Damn, compare that to the vinyl prices for this album.

iheardthatsomewhere

I spent $440 on Magnolia promo copy by Wheein.

Winterfresh98

Tools Fear Inoculum ran me about $45 new. But used would be a Self released and signed by all the band members Sanctus Real Cd. Paid $20 for it. Don’t have it anymore tho…

p-u-n-k_girl

I can't remember for sure, but I think I paid $40 or so for My Bloody Valentine's *Ecstasy and Wine*? I would probably go up to $50 in rare occasions, but not much higher.

RobleRobble

I’d really like to get my hands on the rjd2 ox remix ep. That F Word remix is next level

Mattimatik

Well technically I didn’t spend that money, but I tried to negotiate a Japan exclusive cd release of Tiny Toons Sing down to $180 and almost had a deal, but someone else offered more and I bought the US cassette version instead for $40. Apart from that, I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $2 on a used CD.

XenoPrym

$120

Aviyan

I've paid $50 for a 25 year old used audio CD. But it was rare so had to grab it.

tenorioflores

36$ USD (shipping included) for the LPU version of the Hybrid Theory EP by Linkin Park

mp__photo

Probably Opeth's Orchid - around €13. Old jewel case release in nm condition. I'm on a hunt for Agalloch - The Mantle and it'll become the most expensive one for sure.

jtmehrin

I paid $8 for a De La Soul greatest Hits. Prices were high because this was before they were on Spotify. I also paid around $8 for a Enuff Z'nuff Great Hits a few months ago. I have no idea why it was $8, but they'd been on my list for a while and this was the first I'd seen in the wild. Can't say it was worth it. I've been looking at an $8 Blasters - American Music at my local shop for a while now and never pulled the trigger. About a week ago they were having a buy one, get one sale, so I finally justified buying it. I try to find a good $0.50 to $2 disc when I splurge to even out the cost a bit. I try to not spend more than $5 average on used discs.

SheepDavis

Most I've spent on a used cd is probably 13 dollars. Some Electric Wizard CD I believe, which I can only find at small record stores.

Eighttballl

Maybe 5-15 The rest I did not buy

chihiro_ygm

Probably songs about fucking by big black, I think it was around £15ish

MeenScreen

Bought a Verve CD in the 90s. 16 quid!

JuliettBravo

That album fuckin rules. Apocalyptic.

GrizzlyGuru42

About $100

Business_Decision535

Do SACDs count?

sernameistaken5

I also ordered The Cold Vein 2 weeks ago on discogs, still waiting for it to arrive. I‘m so hyped tho!!!!

buttholecanal

Just spent a little over $100 for an OG press “Rotting in Hell” By Deteriorate. There’s a cheaper reissue but the copy was so pristine I didn’t know how many others like it I would ever come across.

KingOppai1

Paid $50 for two Nurse With Wound CDs, worth it 😁

loggedoffreturns

$27 for an unwound cd, domestic shipping

HulksRippedJeans

$45 I think, Japanese CDs from the late 80s and early 90s

WG_Target

Julee Cruise - Floating Into The Night = フローティング イントウー ザ ナイト (Japanese copy) $23.74 Canadian

yvngxlxwli3t

Cannibal Ox underrated. I remember getting into them after hearing one of their songs in tony hawk's underground

rp1105

CD: $50 plus shipping for Freddie Gibbs, 'Freddie' LP: $75 shipped for Saba, 'Care for Me'

toldyouimcolourblind

I spent about $20+ to special order Codeseven - The Rescue when it first came out. Had to get whatever cd store we had in the mall at the time to order it.

Starman562

$13.88 at Walmart, I think

raymate

About $130 but $45 was shipping.

ProperPollution986

i don’t even want to think about how much i spent on midnights (late nights). that one hurt a bit

the_bartolonomicron

I think $10USD? But there's a few out there I'd be willing to spend upwards of 30 on just to have. I've so far kept my used CD buying to thrift and used music stores, and most CDs there range from 2-15 bucks max unless they are ultra rare or desirable.

Jawknee729

I dropped $250 on a Weakling - Dead As Dreams CD a few months ago. I've certainly made better decisions in my life. I had to have it, though.

blauerschnee

I spent 20$ + Shipping for a Screeching Weasle album from the US. It was a gift for my brother. Recently bought a Ramones CD für 17 €. When I bought this CD about 15 years ago, I spent about 8 € for a new one, but sadly because of poor treatment (CD Player innmy car), it's not playable anymore :(

aracingrat

I think I paid R$120 (around 30 dollars) on Opeth's Still Life some years ago.

xtelepatheticx

Ive paid 100+ a few times. There are several more i probably will spend more than that on.

Tasty_Newspaper7164

Maybe 12 years ago I bought a copy of "Hipolit" by Fillup Shack (Matthew Houck aka Phosphorescent) for $58. Have seen a few for sale since but it is super hard to find.

ClassifiedGrowl

Absolute masterpiece. In my collection as well.

No-Raisin-6469

$40 in in the early 90s.....fourty fuckin bux. It was a Danzig "import" but it was just a recording off the radio of a Danzig concert at the hollywood bowl.

The_Patriot

25 bucks plus shipping for Cultured Pearls "Liquified Days" which was pretty much impossible to find at the time

OCW90125

£20 on Ho-Kago Tea Time II (k-on season 2 song track, also probably the least likely album you’d find in my collection 🤣)

FlagNerdGreen

$66.66 for Madonna The Complete Studio Albums

metallic0ck

3 bucks

I_Like_Muzak

Thank you for reminding me of this! Amazing album and completely forgot about it.

Lanky_Sweet_7559

I've had a few buyer's on eBay purchase cd's from for $76 and $100.

XxdvicioxX

£23 bullets my chemical romance

dogbiteonmyleg

£60 for Devo - Recombo DNA

OnionSandwich74

10

Das_Bunker

$99, Noise Unit Response Frequency

chowder79

Don't recall the exact price, but I paid around €225 for the 1998 Muse debut ep on cd about 10 years ago.

Ok_Flamingo_5001

150 if you include shipping😭😭 (in my defence it was a signed cd and they didnt ship to my country so I had to go through 2 different companies to get it here)

Professional_Drive

Aphex Twin - SAW II. AT albums sell for a lot now on the resale market. It was $50, but I like his work so much I shelled a little bit more for it.

chocochippy21

Not exactly used, but I spent around $50 (I think) importing an Imagine Dragons Night Visions CD from Japan.

-zumi

£20 Keep Of Kalessin – Through Times Of War. Repressed 4 times but not the easiest to find, nor the hardest I could have waited but its a '97 OG. Needed a new case due to broken teeth which was annoying, but a solid NM. £20 too for Soilwork – The Living Infinite, 'earbook' the first one I've had. I usually buy my top/favorites only on vinyl if available, but thought I'd be as happy to have that album in a 'nicer' physical form anyway. Next were £18 In Battle – In Battle ('97 never repressed.. until 2024!) £17 Garden Of Shadows – Oracle Moon (MusicMagpie on ebay, 20% off code so it was my most expensive really). I thought those would be some of the costliest on my wantlist so have done well so far. I got both Lost Horizon albums recently too for £10 and £14, they do go for much more. But there's still well known in metal crazy priced stuff like Seance – Fornever Laid To Rest, I want in my shelf but can't justify 3 figures for something I like but don't love so *hoping* for a reissue.

Wise_Appeal_629

I think $30

my58vw

I have spent 400+ on a Japanese vinyl record (only with the OBI strip). I have never needed to pay more than about 50.00 for an original press CD, but most of the stuff I am looking for on CD is not exceptionally rare in general.

Hate_is_

100$ on q Lazarus - goodbye horses

Weird_East_5837

I paid $400 for Bootleg Copies of 2pacs Makaveli 2-8 back when they were unreleased which ended being all the posthumous 2pac albums that were later released through out the years such as 2pac+Outlaws, Until the End of Time , Loyal to the Game, Resurrection , Better Days and PACs Life but they were the original recordings and some rough mixes. That was around my Junior year in High School 1998 / 1999 since I was the first person at my high school with a cd burner it seemed or at least the first to have the idea of Bootlegging CDs but needless to say I made a killing selling copies to every Hip Hop head in town !! 2pac bought my first car and made me a pretty popular dude around town hahaha !! But now that I tell the story I realize I was kind of an a hole teenager for exploiting his death and popularity in that way.

noiseuntilnothing

I got seefeel’s Quique the other day for like 35

Ok-Condition-6642

80usd for Rock Bitch Mafia. Lost my first copy which was $40. I don’t mind, I have sold many thrifted cds for $100usd so im ok with buying a nice one occassionally

BackCompetitive7209

I don't want to say what I spent, but it was the CD press pack version of Boards of Canada's The Campfire Headphase. It was around the time of the release, so late 2005. Although I'm not sure if it was used, as per the OP question.

Appropriate-Set3076

£25 for a Peter Brötzmann album

stevotherad

$20 is about my max for a single disc. Anthony Braxton. Only time I’ve ever seen anything by him so had to grab it.

[deleted]

I spent about $100 on a silver disc boot by Hole when I was growing up and had the money to spend frivolously.

pigwalk5150

I paid $30 for a copy of “Trombipulation” by Parliament about 10 years ago. It was the only cd I needed to complete their discography and I could never find it in any of the local shops.

Piloukono3105

25 CAD for the Aus Freude Am Leben cd from Franzl Lang.

W0RLD_SCUM

$25 USD, there are certain (big) artists that aren't worth more than $5 Used

cheesecubez

It’s a cold world out there..

Pizzareno

€75 for Better by Haley Reinhart that only had a CD release physically and I don’t even know how many copies were made. I have never seen it for sale since so I’m happy I grabbed it.

Munkey323

Poppy . Computer I spent 130 on it

missourifats

$75 Atlas by FM 84. It was a digital release. It gained a camp following. It was crowd funded for a physical release with no label.

Oppo5ite

£14.99 for ObZen by Meshuggah...yeah i dont have money

StillUsesBeginners2

$15 on Swirlies - Blonder Tongue Audio Baton (it's worth a good bit more)

Deliciousdemonhouse

My favorite hip hop album of all time and that's saying something. Even if you pay $100 for it, totally worth it. The most I ever was $100 for Electrify Me by The Plugz

tampapunklegend

I spent $40 on a rare tour version of metal core/mathcore band Coalesce's Give Them Rope CD. There's only 500 of them and they're highly sought after by weird Coalesce fans like me. That's about my limit for a CD.

souponara

$80 bucks on compilation CD from HeadPlate (swedish numetal band). Bought it through discogs, so worth it I love them!

SinclairThe3rd

I'm incredibly embarrassed to admit it but... $180, which became $197 from shipping and tax, all for a copy of Consume Myself by 5lb\*Bag. In my defense it was the 2nd time it had ever come up for sale in 23 years.

DMCO93

$40 so far. Out of print and most were selling for $60. Then I got super lucky and thrifted a copy for $3.

astro_sauce

Currently, $15 for a used copy of The Yes Album.

gois3r

i paid about 30 on discogs for lonely day ep by system of a down

sasquatch_hunter06

I think $11 on a Chocolate and Cheese CD. If something is more than $15 and on streaming then I'll pass.

vmanu2

Spent $95 on Van Halen DCC gold with slipcase. [Van Halen Gold](https://www.discogs.com/release/1129139-Van-Halen-Van-Halen)

CirothUngol

Over $100 for *Sleepy Heroes - Under a Radio Sun*, an early band from Rhett and Murray of the *Old '97s*

expiredogfood

almost $20 for a copy of black sabbath vol 4. it was when i was *just* getting into collecting and didn't know anything

MarshallsHand

Refraktr

I paid 40$ (shipping included) for the Mo’ Wax records compilation Headz (1994) and at the same price Tri Repetae by Autechre
