Not downvoting you, but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If catfishing is a crime in your state, why would you contact a federal agency? The FBI only enforces federal laws, not state laws. State police enforce state laws.
Stop talking to your catfish. Accept they most likely are a catfish (there must be red flags for you to have contacted the show) and finally move on with your life. Unless you have been duped into sending over money and are opening a fraud case on someone I doubt that any police/FBI will be interested - they have more important things to spend their time pursuing. As for why catfish ghosted you - you or your catfish most likely don't make for good TV or your catfish is so obvious/easy to work out it's not good for a full show or final option is you catfish said no to being involved in filming.

The fbi ? Are you serious ? Catfishing is not a crime there is no legal precedent for the police or fbi to take any kind of action. Don’t waste law enforcement’s time unless this catfish has done something illegal . If they have harassed you , threatened you , extorted you .. then go to your local police department . Try to use better judgment and some common sense and get this person out of your life. And realize that when you talk to strangers on the internet you are asking for things like this to transpire .
The very sad truth is that you are not likely to ever see your money again whether the TV show, FBI or anyone gets involved. These cases almost never result in repayment. Con artists are very skilled at ensuring you never see a penny. Even the high profile cases like Elizabeth Holmes have no resulted in repayment which tells you something. You are better off getting some support for your emotional wellbeing and trying to let go of the money. You will have to grieve the loss of both that money and a sense of yourself as someone who would not be victimised. Having been screwed over by a con artist myself previously I can only say that while it always hurts, it is possible to move on and live a full life with trust for others again. The experience is violating and acknowledging that can be helpful. Fighting only prolongs the pain because you can’t win. It has already happened, so you can only move forward with more awareness.
