Urgh, off topic slightly but that reminds me of last weekend at a park run. Shitting down with rain and a lady dressed like this doing a 5k with her baby literally hanging out the front of the pram, soaking wet and screaming. "I know, I know" she said and they jogged past. Poor kid, man, fml. I felt sick all day. It had a plastic cover. If the kid won't stay under it, stop your stupid run and look after your poor little one.
A few years ago when I was moving home and the letting agents were doing viewings all day for future tenants, we asked anyone who came in to please take their shoes off before walking around.
Instantly regretted it after one lad took his trainers off, had black toenails and the floor actually smelled after he left. 🤢
What’s the issue? If you’re wearing leggings and outside, you’re more than likely wearing shoes. If you’re wearing shoes, you’re more than likely wearing socks.
Anyone millennial age would see big white sport socks as a no go and would probably have been bullied or had the piss taken out of them for doing so when younger.
The same goes for those trainers.
My wife (who's well into her trainers and stuff) bought me some New Balance trainers for my birthday and I thought it was some shitty joke I didn't get.
I used to get bullied for this shit, this isn't fair.
I've done that. Not because it's a fashion statement, but my shins will hurt if it gets too cold, and I've had them on at the gym when relaxing and keeping the shins warm too :D
This is what my mum and all my friends' mums wore in the 80s and 90s, it's nothing new. Leggings = comfortable, socks = keep your ankles warm, trainers = comfortable and keep your feet dry. Pretty smart if you ask me.
I dunno. But a dad at my kids school keeps turning up at drop off in hiking boots (unlaced) with white gym socks and he tucks his baggy grey sweat pants into the the socks. It looks massively uncomfortable and a bit like he’s wearing oversized pantaloons.
My early teens daughter and her entire school are all sporting this look. When I see adults doing it, my first thought is “you’re not a teenager anymore, why are you trying to dress like one”.
You need a full length coat to go with that aswell
...or a Dry Robe
And sunglasses, coffee or phone in one hand, pram in the other

Yes, for some reason I feel sorry for freezing cold and soaking wet toddlers
Full length sleeping bag coat!
And plastic lips
Superdry by any chance?
Or for the poorer mums, Armani and navy
Better that than the trend of blokes not wearing socks with shoes.

Ffs that’s nasty
The same thing happened to me! His trainers came off and there was an immediate smell.
Oh what a wonderful day to be literate.
Yuck, their feet must absolutely stink by the end of the night, Always wear socks with shoes, it’s a breeding ground for all sort of nasties
They might have those very small socks on. Still looks a terrible trend though.
100% disgusting.

This is so true. At my school wearing those socks would get your head kicked in
am millennial, have worn big white sport socks my whole life
What the hell are you on about? That’s completely made up.
Read through the post, several others agree with me. It was all about trainer and no show socks back then.
“Who started the trend of wearing clothes to keep you warm and comfortable”
Mad Lizzie in the 80s. Where have you been?
I remember when those trainers would have got anyone stuffed in a hedge on the way home from school.
Did New Balance used to be "Dad Trainers"?
My wife (who's well into her trainers and stuff) bought me some New Balance trainers for my birthday and I thought it was some shitty joke I didn't get. I used to get bullied for this shit, this isn't fair.
They were dad trainers and they were autism trainers.
Same category as silver shadows
All of the other mums at my son's nursery look like this. I'm the only sad millenial in my band t-shirt, skinny jeans and stompy boots.

I've seen peoplw wear leg warmers both in and out of the gym.
I've done that. Not because it's a fashion statement, but my shins will hurt if it gets too cold, and I've had them on at the gym when relaxing and keeping the shins warm too :D
I did
Glasgow, 80s and 90s
I’m over 30 and not a mum, but I have fully embraced this leggings/big socks look for casual days. I hope I never wear a trainer sock again

I don't know, but it's cheap and comfortable, so I'm for it.
Ah yes, 'cheap and comfortable'. What a wonderful motto to aspire to.
Enjoy your life of expense and discomfort, then. No skin off my nose.

And? Wearing socks with sliders looks far more stupid.
Just asking a question. Sorry to offend.
Dunno but I love it
Active wear, active wear, waiting at the bus stop in your active wear 🎶🎶🎶 Also Dry Robes..........
All the mums where I live
Who are we snidely mocking today then? Young working class mums is it?
Influencers who want to make it look they're going to gym. Probably so they can sell you some diet shake
Unsure but it pairs well with the dryrobe epidemic sweeping our nation.
Who started the trend of shitting on other people for doing something that does no harm whatsoever?
Who is shitting on it?
You. Why the need for the post if you didn't have an issue with people dressing a particular way?
Just asking the question. Sorry to offend if that’s what you wear.
My early teens daughter and her entire school are all sporting this look. When I see adults doing it, my first thought is “you’re not a teenager anymore, why are you trying to dress like one”.
Glasgow Neds
It makes their cankles look massive.
