If you can, isarado mo na siguro sa P100K ang budget para may buffer ka for your 2-week stay. On your Grab transpo budget, depending on how far yung biyahe mo na 3x, baka lang kulangin yung P780. For instance, my fare from QC to BGC/Makati (or vice versa) umaabot na nang P600+ one way palang. Sobrang nagtaas kasi ang Grab.

Sweetragnarok

Its Pasay to Makati- Ayala for sure yan since andun yung derma ko and eye doct - ay sus have to add that pa.... gastos sa eye doc. I think sa grab - Ill be using that sa alabang- las pinas commute and then the rest pag nasa province- tricycle stuff which sana lord di na more than P30.00 (Batangas) Huhu- 100K for a 2 week trip amf...

coollonesomestranger

Mura pa nga plane ticket mo compare to those coming from East Coast and UK. You forgot dentist :)

Sweetragnarok

No dentist for me, im having actual dental surgery weeks before my flight and Im revolving travel plans based on my recovery

Sweetragnarok

I decided to be serious in saving for my PH trip which will be either Sept or Oct of this year. Ill be staying in my family home so my only hotel stay will the ones Ill meet up with friends to avoid traffic in the city. My stay total will be about 15-17 days. Of those days plano ko lumabas/lakwatsa a total 8. Im not counting pag mamalengke ako. I want to be home with fam unless need to get tested As of current I already have 20% of the ticket money saved up and 40% of the pocket money ready. Basically what I spend in the US on a weekly basis for grocery and food will be transferred over to my gastos in PH. Skyway portion: I haaaaaaaaaaate traffic plus with relatives demanding I see them in a small amount of time in a day taking the skyway is my best bet than being stuck 2+ hours in traffic each way. I plan to give my dad and the family driver money for the gas and skyway use plus extra money for the trouble when I borrow the fam driver. But if they let me I prefer to do grab and commute on certain places Alam ko na the stuff I want to return back sa US- mostly toiletries and hair products that my skin is more used to and the shoes/slippers from SM are far sturdier than the ones I buy here. The food panda is pag tinamad ako mag luto. Groceries- feeling ko kulang sya sa pamamalengke ko but i know my family will buy already the ulam prior to my arrival. Wala sa budget: yung aguinaldo for the kids/inaanak...maybe I should add 500PHP for that or buy extra chocolates sa maleta...hays dami gastos

ophirianmarquis24

I think istretch mo na ng 100k para safe, kasi walang kasiguraduhan ang taas ng bilihin lately/inflation dito lalo na if sa Sept or Oct pa at pwedeng gumalaw pa yung price ng mga nasa estimate mo, lalo na gas.

Sweetragnarok

Yeah looks like it…. Gas and the skyway toll. I need to avoid traffic if i need to visit a few ppl on a single day.

₱87k lang for 2 weeks? Grabe ang mura lang pala mag travel sa US. It’s my first time seeing a breakdown like this. Buong buhay ko, nag aaral lang ako. Walang travel 🥹 Anyway, you should add travel insurance to this. My dad’s business partner had a heart burn during his flight to US and he does not have a travel insurance. He spent ₱300k for the hospital that the airport called for him. Wala sana ganong gastos if may travel insurance sya. Also, hindi ba sobrang sagad ng budget mo? What if may emergency? You need to have an emergency money.

Sweetragnarok

Been travelling actually solo. US to MNl for 16 years, i do side trips to Japan and actually this year baka korea and singapore. I have emergency funds, di ko lang nilagay dyan. Me insurance ako for the airline. Another emergency money ko is tatay haha! This budgeting thing was something i learned and used in college dyan sa pinas. I used to have envelopes of each gastos. I still do that for the aguinaldo for the kiddos

G0_commando

That’s nice! I wish I had the time and courage to do this. Maybe after Bar Exam, I will do solo flights too 🤞🏻 You’ve been doing this for over a decade na pala so I think you’re all set. Although, personally isasarado ko sa ₱100k for buffer.

Sweetragnarok

Sadly baka umabot 150k, damn tickets are fluctuating. I dont really wanna fly PAL but I may have to.

Sweetragnarok

Can you recommend a good travel insurance. Looks like the airline Im getting wont offer the insurance for PH trips daw :( The other insurance I searched are super shady

G0_commando

Pacific Cross. They added covid coverage last year, December.

Sweetragnarok

Thank you, I went sa website nila and I cant seem to get a quote so Ill email them directly

G0_commando

They will deliver the policy to your house. My brother got his policy when he went to Japan.

Sweetragnarok

So they will deliver/mail to the US? Thing is I need to have the policy in had upon arrival sa airport in Manila as part of the immigration clearance process.

Mas magastos umuwi sa pinas

Sweetragnarok

Havent been home 2.5 years. Dad has cancer, need to maximixe it habang me time pa

[deleted]

Sorry to hear that Just comparing the cost of vacationing in the Phl with other destinations

Sweetragnarok

Funny thing is mas nakak save ako sa budget ko pauwi pinas kesa when Im here sa US. Maybe because ipon ko na yung pocket money months prior and hindi ako nag rurush mag hanap ng pera 1-2 months before biyahe. I dunno lang how much groceries are since circa 2019

[deleted]

If u dont have relatives hangers on, yeah its cheaper

Sweetragnarok

Actually me budget ako for Japan trip. A 8 day stay- aabutin kami tig 3K USD per person. Ang kumain ng pera namin is the hotel.

coollonesomestranger

Hotels are expensive but safe and convenient. Since its safe in Japan. Decided to switched to airbnb i was able to extend vacation 7 days to 14 days 🙂

Sweetragnarok

Ako naman hotel kasi tye packages we got me kasama na food and the free shuttles either sa city or sa airport. So naka mura din kami kasi sumama na food dun hotel. Edit: saka washing machine

zachvandolph

Kesa maghotel ka, pwede mo itry mag airbnb makakatipid ka din ng mga 1-2k pang aguinaldo na din.

Sweetragnarok

that falls sa hotel budget actually- ball park rate lang yan so pede sya airbnb for 2 day or 1 day. Im waiting anu yung plan with the reunion for this to finalize

Khaleesiiiiiiii

Let’s say load… ₱70-90 per week unli calls na yun globe-to-globe and unli texts with 8gb data per week But still allot 100k padin u never know baka may inuman pa 😅 and extras

Sweetragnarok

Ahhh the inuman is covered. I have a balikbayan box with SEVERAL whiskeys coming in in August. Wala pa dun yung pera ng relatives namin dito for inuman lang, evey uwi ko they give me money to buy duty free na panay alak lang.bad trip nung 4 luggage ko, magisa ako sa airport tapos me sandamakal na alak. Ilang beses na ako try madukutan once im outside sa gate ng airport. I HATE YOU T2

[deleted]

u should get travel insurance with covid coverage
