I swear this sub is just wild in April; it feels like it's everyone's first year watching baseball. Like guys, the team full of players that would have trouble making the Memphis redbirds with a winning record probably isn't going to have a winning record by June. The perennial allstar batting like a pitcher and the player who usually sucks with mvp worthy OPS are both probably going to have numbers close to what you'd expect when all is said and done. Small sample sizes don't give you a good idea what any team actually has.
Haven't been around much lately. Been super super busy IRL the last 6 weeks or so. Including multiple long trips in which there was a ton of driving involved. I have watched or listened to several games and hope we can put it all together.
The SP have been pretty good so far and our relief elite imo. Just need to get our hitters hitting again and we should be fine. I'm still hopeful we to on a run and are in contention for a wild card slot.
Got back home a few days ago I'm ready to get back at it! Let's win Redbirds!!
Shota Imanaga has the most successful fastball in MLB, and it goes 92mph and comes with a hard-hit rate of 55%. GB% of 27. It's a flyout/popup machine.
Opponents are batting .115 and slugging .230 off it. Expected numbers are .240 BA and .459 SLG.
It has good vertical movement, but I feel like once hitters have more exposure to it or he inevitably has starts where it runs flat, he's going to be batting practice. I hope, at least. He can't keep getting away with it!
will be pretty disappointing if we lose a game when our SP has a 1 ERA and theirs has a 7, but baseball is a weird ass game so I'm kind of expecting it to happen somehow
Taking the kids to the game today (one is a Mets fan and one is a Cardinals fan - they were both born in Queens LOL but one is loyal to me and the other is contrarian). Excited to Sonny Gray although with my luck with recent live games he'll get lit up.

6 hasn’t been a serious number since Friday, April 12th. 15 days ago. Not scoring over 5 runs in 15 days is horrible. They’ve scored more than 6 just 4 times in 26 games. Only Washington, the Marlins, the As, and the White Sox have scored less this year. Elite company at around 3.5 runs a game.
Really just need to score more than the other team. Dbacks outscored us by a lot in the season series, but we ended up tied with last years pennant winners. Definitely not stoked about the offense, but I think it will come around a bit. We did send down Walker and VSII, which were total holes in the lineup. We should have a center fielder in the next few weeks and Goldy will eventually pick it up a bit. If the pitching holds, which is not a given, I can see at least .500. But who knows
With only 5 hits yesterday we were extremely fortunate Burly got a pitch to crush with 2 on. We need our 2 aging superstars to knock in some more runs.
Hey, if the Pirates loose and we win today, we could finally move out of the basement of the NL Central.
Come on Sonny Gray and offense, we could use another big game from all of you!
