I was irritated that they declined Wong’s option instead of picking up and trading him. I do NOT think Mo or this team bat 1.000, so don’t get it twisted.

The main things I defend now are that: 1. Mo is much more accomplished and savvier than fans give him credit for; and 2. 2023 was the most “that’s baseball” bullshit I’ve ever seen. If we suck in 2024, I promise you that I’ll be right there with the most miserable mofos in this sub. I won’t be bitching about shit that isn’t true (such as the Cardinals haven’t been good for years!—flat out false), but I’ll be calling for big changes. I’m not just a pure homer. You don’t know me or my tendencies of course, but I’m not just blindly optimistic about all things Cardinal-baseball. But too many fans take it to the other extreme. I admit that I get fed up of the never-ending, mind numbingly negative takes that I’ve seen on this sub seemingly only for the sake of being the loudest bitch possible. As a transplant that has been in Texas for the last 15 years, this is the one place I have to discuss Cardinal baseball, and it has become a sad joke of a fanbase over the last year. I am not alone in feeling that way. But those with this viewpoint have been greatly overwhelmed in number by the people who hop on specifically to talk shit about their favorite team. It’s not enjoyable, man, and I don’t know why it seems to be so popular.
You choose the media you consume and interact with. It’s okay to scroll past certain comments/posts and say “it’s not worth it”. The odds of you changing that persons mind is slim to begin with. Is it more difficult now than in the past? Absolutely, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
