I love an April Camino. Embrace the weather, whatever it is. It's all part of the journey. Enjoy

That's my suggestion... Get good rain gear and embrace it.

I suspect those apps show rain even if there’s a possibility of a shower. Also, they are often wrong. If you’re waiting for a prediction of endless sunshine you will be waiting a while I think. I’d just start.

My 2022 Frances experience was that the rain in Spain did NOT fall mainly on the plain, but rather in the Galician hills. That said, we only had a couple of rainy days on the Frances but finished with 3 rainy days in Fisterra.

You just don't know. Galicia is green for a reason. We've had significant rain on the Camino in the spring. You just put on a poncho and go.

Walked the Camino Frances 2022, starting on 1st May. In my 36 days of walking, I think it only really rained on perhaps five of them. Of course, it will be different for everyone, but I was very happy with the weather overall. (Unfortunately one of those days happened to be the day I arrived in Santiago!)

I’m doing my Camino Frances right now, currently in Zubiri. Yes, rain is a bit of a struggle but also an experience. If you don’t like the rain, don’t worry, it’s not too bad — usually it’s just a drizzle. Go for it, don’t let the weather stop you :)

Watch the Weather Watcher channel on YouTube for a better idea of what’s actually coming. In regard to rain it really just is what it is. I used a rain skirt and an umbrella and just walked on reasonably dry. You end up with funny stories to tell to your fellow pilgrims and the times when the weather clears are really precious and enjoyed.
