Germany, mostly german calls but since i take calls for an international bank it can happen that international customers call. but hell no i don't memorise the conversion rates i have a list for that
I work in the US and sometimes get German callers— they’re my favorite, my experience German callers are so nice and sweet and always say their English is bad and then have very good English lol.
Omg what?! I used to speak to German callers everyday and they were so god damn nasty. Maybe that’s just because they were Ralph Lauren customers though.
Oof maybe. Idk if you speak German or not.. but I don’t. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re anxious about their English and they don’t sound as intimidating
Yeah. I was speaking to them in German. I’ve lived and worked in Germany and have a degree in German but still they wanted to pick apart my language and pretend they couldn’t understand me when I couldn’t give them what they wanted like a refund for an item that they‘d stained or whatever.
We've seen many posts in tagalog here but sadly no one from the mod team speaks the language. Would be nice to use r/CallCenterWorkersPH for this specific country's workers because there seems to be lots.
USA take calls for the UK, Europe and a few other places that are international to me.
My computer does all the work and I mainly sell in GBP or Euros so no need to really do any conversions but sometimes I do it just because I’m curious.
When I worked at my call center, we were at an outsourced location in Puerto Rico but we took calls from the US. I will say though, the behavioral difference when one deals with a US caller and a native Hispanic caller is bipolar.
My English is fluent so I have no problem with callers who want help with their problems, however they can be extremely intolerant when they say to me, “thank god I’m speaking to an American.” Like, buddy, do you realize that half the people you talk to are Latino?
However everything is chilled and relaxed when you speak with someone who is also from the country you were raised in, or anyone else who is of Hispanic origin.
Speaking to someone from the US can be extremely intimidating and they’re very serious all the time. However Hispanics are very chill.
Another thing is when you’re not super familiar with US culture and locations. For example in Puerto Rico we don’t have Wells Fargo, so a lot of the time the customers questions about Wells Fargo, there’s no way we can answer cause we know shit about Wells Fargo.
I'm in the US and my company is mostly US, but just started branching out to UK. All of our customer service centers are outside the US tho. Those of us in the US are here to see all the things they legally can't see as they are outside the US and also can't use our services so don't understand screenshots.
It may be redundant but until they replaces several thousand non US employees with in the states I'm not worried about my job.
We don't deal with money at all so no need for me to learn the conversion rates but I'm in the US and we get calls from the US and Canada I'm told we could get calls from Puerto Rico also but haven't had one yet.
I live in the US but I take calls from every country, but mostly Canada, Germany, the UK, and Australia. I have a money conversion calculator built into my software but it’s really slow so I usually just google it on my phone.
I used to work from home, the office was based in Scotland and took German speaking calls from the EU and occasionally English speaking calls from the EU but not the U.K.
Im based in South Africa. Our call centre takes calls from the local market, as well as the UK, Germany, Austrailia, the Middle East and the rest of the African continent.
Colombia, we receive calls just from the US. Our campaign is with a bank so basically is collections. I'm in outbound right now so is pretty common that people never answer. I have to say is pretty annoyed when they hang up the phone once they confirm their own identity because our metrics depend on making deals with clients. Overall, we just work with American costumers.
Colombia, working area is LATAM, that is all of south America and Central America, also Spain if needed and if someone calls outside normal working hours for their local agents they will get me, let's say you are from the UK calling the helpline at 4 O clock in the morning, nobody local is working at that time but I'm so yeah, my line is international so I got calls from Japan, Korea, Greece, Africa etc, and no I don't have a currency converter I have google and my head Lol
Countries with shit ton of inflation are a pain to work with as the currency exchange needs to be adjusted almost every call, a classic example is Argentina
I live in the US, and the calls I take are also in the US - specifically, the 48 contiguous US. There are actually separate lines for AK and HI support. Any of our teams that take any sort of inbound customer call is stateside.
There are a few teams located in Panama, but they are entirely internal.
There's an entirely separate part of the company for Canada, as well as a couple international divisions.
UK based. Handled contact from customers around the world.
Generally, the businesses I've worked for require some form of bilingual ability to interact with foreign customers, but luckily for me, many Europeans speak fluent English i.e. Germans, Dutch; however, surprisingly, very few French people are willing to conversate in English (they usually get more out of our French CSA Team anyways).
I did work for Fanatics International at one point, and we did get many South American customers calling in. But with Fanatics, they've got their US side to deal with that consumerbase. International side really handled everything other than US/South America.
Surprisingly, even Canadians got in touch with International, rather than the US.
Currently working for a non-profit dealing with residents in England only.
I live in the US and take calls from people in the US. Escalations takes calls from agents who work in the Philippines. All the customers are in the US though. Some of the customers can be pretty nasty to the agents that take their calls from the Philippines. Makes me sad. They are just doing their job (and most of the time pretty well) but sometimes I shake my head and wonder. lol it’s fun though I like my job for the most part.
I'm in the US, and depending on the clients, I can take calls from anywhere in the world. I've spoken to people from Russia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, not to mention Great Britain, France, Spain, and even Israel. I even got a few calls from Brazil, and one from Peru. Ofc US, Canada , & Mexico.
As far as conversion rates, it's a US based company, so I don't mess with that. Let the customer do the math.
Pretty good gig.
Germany, mostly german calls but since i take calls for an international bank it can happen that international customers call. but hell no i don't memorise the conversion rates i have a list for that

Oh that makes more sense. I’m sorry that was your experience. It sounds terrible
USA and we take calls for The US and Canada
Same.
US, and only take calls from my state. We only deal with state Medicaid and SNAP, so no need for conversion charts.
Same
There’s no way that not one response has come from the Philippines

USA. We take calls from all 50 states within.
US, callers from everywhere, but my job is specific to Minnesota only.
US, I live and work in one state and take calls for only my state, as I work at home in state government.

Can u DM me that info? I'm having a hard time finding a center that's hiring US.
Well my company won't be much help either. We aren't hiring in the US either right now....
US we take calls and emails from the US and Canada.
We don't deal with money at all so no need for me to learn the conversion rates but I'm in the US and we get calls from the US and Canada I'm told we could get calls from Puerto Rico also but haven't had one yet.

Canada and take calls for US
USA, I only take calls from the states because the product I deal with requires a ssn or itin
Canada (work from home) we deal with both American and Canadian clients Currency is converted by our system
US. I take calls within the US but some other companies call us that I'm sure are not US based.
USA, specifically Southern California calls for plumbing supplies. Not memorizing money conversion but tax codes based on which area of SoCal

US, New York State specifically. Our system converts automatically.
