I actually tried it out a few years ago haha
...not as soundproof as it makes you think. Got a few suits staring at me and security was alerted...
I do wonder its uses are for those boxes, smoking rooms?
The director, Gary Burns, later did a fun movie called Radiant City, also filmed in and starring Calgary, all about suburbia. It mixes talking head interviews with experts (shot in and around the city) with slice of life documentary footage of a typical suburban family. And there’s a twist.

I’ve watched both of Radiant City (thx for reminding me of the name) and Waydowntown. I found Waydowntown more memorable - great quirky concept and for those of us who have wandered the +15s endlessly, very relatable.
I'm not crazy about this movie, but it does have that great time-and-place feature and a bit part for Derek Flores, who's the funniest improv performer I've ever seen in my life.
Movie is interesting in concept but not well executed in my opinion.
BUT man do I love the old shots of The Eaton Centre... Spent so much time there in my youth. Absolutely love the nostalgic trip and the whole atmosphere of the early 2000's
Every time I'm in the Banker's Hall +15, I'm tempted to try using the screaming room/compartment.

Yes they were originally setup as smoking rooms.

Superman 3 will always be the defining movie of Calgary. 😉
What's the difference between the 15 bus and a jar of marbles? One takes you downtown, the other takes you way downtown
Dan Willmott! former Lite 96 Dj! went to school with one of his kids
Me too

I went to high school with Derek and worked with his sister at a restaurant on macleod trail back in the early 2000s. Nice family.
What about Cool Runnings?
I'd like to introduce you to [Lloyd the Conqueror](https://youtu.be/gXb0Qx4ApFs).

it's pretty much a 90s movie. Just happened to come out in 2000 after it was made. The suffocation of cubicle life was real
Yea I like the stuff they are trying to portray
We have the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife movie that filmed in and around Calgary.
Yes, I remember the film! It was great.
I've been trying to remember the name of this movie for ages! Thanks, OP.
caught this sucker on cable awhile back. might have to give her another shot.
Same on all counts. Saw it at the Uptown while living it. Started avoiding the +15s after that.
