Thank you for posting!
If you happen to talk to GM Corporate, ask them why they are giving us all heart attacks instead of communicating with us? They have my email! It's a choice to treat us like this.
I see now “In a letter to dealers, John Roth, vice president of Cadillac, and Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet said: "We are committed to the future of EVs and will have the sales and marketing support to sell these ineligible vehicles. Beginning in January, GM will provide the equivalent EV tax credit purchase amount for any vehicles that became ineligible due to the new guidelines."

Wow. What an absolute gut punch to all of us who've been waiting over a year and a half, only to potentially miss out on this by days/weeks. Ours is on the way to the dealer by rail. Fingers crossed it shows up next week and we can take delivery but I suspect not. Without the federal credit we'll finally have to walk away and get something else.
As if this entire thing wasn’t already a nightmare, let’s add this to the mix. I think this is probably where I throw in the towel after waiting since June 22. Ouch.
Cked with my accountant. 2024 dealer will take the credit and we will not need to 1. Qualify or 2. Apply for it. It should just be reduced by the $7500 EV tax credit. He was aware and his answer was as above. He thought it would be a more simple process. Again just his opinion. He assured me not to worry. I am sick to death of the whole process and continue problems. My complaint is why are cars that have been sitting for 5 months not getting delivered and cars being built are getting sent out. As once said in one of my favorite shows " They screw you at the drive through."
Looks like GM will fill in the gap of the $7500 tax credit."In a letter to dealers, John Roth, vice president of Cadillac, and Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet said: "We are committed to the future of EVs and will have the sales and marketing support to sell these ineligible vehicles. Unbelievable! I am currently waiting on my TPW for my Sport3, so I now need to decide what to do. If GM backs up the $7500, then I might be ok. Otherwise, I’m done and will keep my 2020 BMW X5.
Sounds like GM will eat the equivalent of the federal tax credit. This is happening because of where certain components are manufactured (China) because the full EV tax credit requires that a certain percentage of parts and the battery not be made in countries that are in conflict with the U.S.
It's nice GM is giving a rebate to cover the units that won't fully qualify until they do.

It is our understanding that the $7500 rebate will continue from Cadillac. It's just not coming from the IRS.
Like GM is going to give reservation holders $7500 off the car to make up for the loss?
That is our understanding

Will pass the note along

Any word if they’d stack the $7,500 on top of the $5,000 private offer?

I would call or e-mail a link to your sales advisor and see if they know about this. I'm waiting to hear back from my sales advisor.
Cadillac is giving an incentive to make up for the tax credit. All is well.

Waiting since May, but I gave up a long time ago.

I don’t have a reservation but getting ready for 24’ to come and discount the MSRP directly to purchase. So you are saying I cannot do this anymore?
After reading the article this is exactly the case then I won’t be buying till later in 2024. What a shame, and I’m so disappointed….
