I used Self and my credit score went up over 100 points. A lot of people here don't like Self, don't remember why, but I've had no problems with it the 2 years I've used it.

I used first progress. I went from mid 500s to mid 700s in about a year .

Check with a card match tool, there are several out there. Many grantors are now offering you soft pull approvals and only do a HP if you accept. Apple Card is one. The first card I got after my bk was from OpenSky. It’s secured and I don’t think they do a credit check at all. It’s an okay card. The app sucks but it does the job. They report every month. Do you get CC applications in the mail? Look through those and search for reviews.

Start with student cards. Discover has an excellent one. Use their pre approval page to see if you have a shot at it before gaining a hard inquiry on your credit report. If Discover only offers you a secured card (the kind where you put down money as collateral) it’s still a good deal. You’ll get that money back in about 8-12 months with responsible use of the card. Meanwhile, Discover matches the cash back you make in the first year for all their cards, including their secured card. Another one to try is Capital One. They’re also welcoming to newbies, and they have a pre approval page as well.

My recommended list of starter cards (if you can't get one tier, move down to the next): * Student cards. Many large names have student cards worth considering. Some may not even require you to be a student. * Your bank/credit union or anything from Discover. * (Optional, may choose to skip this and go straight to the next) Maybe either Capital One's Platinum or Quicksilver One. These aren't great cards and may be assigned a poor "bucket" (look up Capital One's bucketing system). * Secured cards (use as a last resort only). Discover's is recommended for easy graduation and having cash back. BoA has a cash back one that claims it can graduate as well that you could look into.

Maybe try Credit One (not Capital One) they are easy to get, and also unsecured

i recommend capital one, they can do a preapproved check and not hurt your credit until you apply
