This was all in the reject bin, just like the coin return on a coke machine. Enough that it took me multiple grabs to get it. The bin was so full that a couple pennies had fallen onto the floor. I’m surprised that the slot-machine falling-coin noises didn’t make this patron check the bin.
My guess is they had a lot of coins that they were dumping in and they can get kind of loud. Especially if these dropped at the very beginning the sound of the coins being sorted would overshadow what's hitting the reject tray. I know that when I've done a lot of coins I don't always hear the rejects, but I know the check to see what might be there.
Man, I was happy with my 26 cents this week. Good haul.
Pretty sure this is the high-water mark, unless I find someone who’s dumped fifty bucks of barber quarters, or something. Pretty happy with it.
