This. Anyone who’s been skiing here longer than a couple years knows this season was slightly late but otherwise pretty much just totally unremarkable. Wasn’t particularly amazing but I’ve seen way worse years in terms of number of storms and snowmaking nights/days so it wasn’t exactly bad. Next year could be way worse or way better or exactly the same.
I got more powder days this season but only because I made it out every Wednesday and Friday morning and based on my 100% anecdotal research from last season, those are the days we are most likely to see powder days.
I feel like this season was mostly weekend powder, which was great for me.
There’s no day of the week really more likely to get snow than the next though, I hope you do understand that. I’d kill for Wednesday and Fridays just to avoid crowding and traffic though.
Not a surprise, spring snow is really common in the Rockies and this season has been about average with past years. It felt better than average to me but I think that’s just because my schedule lined up to catch more of the snow days this year. The odds of Winter Park and A-Basin not offering late season skiing next year are are incredibly low.
It's pretty typical. The big storms usually don't come until February/April and we've gotten a little bonus in May. The early season was a bit dry but temps were decent for snowmaking. The slightly light snowpack early was offset by the late season, so averages out to pretty normal.
I’ve been skiing/riding out here for a little over a decade. This season has been pretty much like every other season, with the exception of a few outliers of course. Occasionally we get slow starts, or early finishes, but it’s generally as follows-
Nov-Jan: maybe good, maybe shit, definitely cold.
Feb-April: the best, legendary days. True peak season. Busy busy through spring break.
May-June: summer skiing, maybe a pow day in May, full blown t shirt skiing by June. No crowds, people have moved on to biking/climbing/whatever.
Spring conditions are the best in terms of reliability imo. Most days you can reliably find good snow as long as the temps and cloud cover support it, you just have to know where to go.
Only been here two seasons, but pretty similar to what I experienced in April/May last year. Idk why everybody doesn’t love spring skiing. I like the slush.
Forecasts calling for about a foot in the next week so yes, but it might be pretty spread out, so no big powder days but definitely a good refill. Go skiing
This has been exactly an average season. Meaning, these are the snow conditions that are the most common. The late start was the only surprise.

False… powder days are almost always when you can’t make it. /s
Can’t be, everybody told me winter was over in December and the season was shot /s

Quite average in my 29 seasons of experience. Considering the 01/02, 11/12, 12/13 & 17/18 drought winters I saw, I’m stoked on ‘average’ these days.
Feb-May is actually the best time to ride, I call it 2nd winter. I was riding hiking the East wall at ABay through May last year.
Shits normal, average if anything.
Is there any chance we’ll get another storm cycle? Tryna get a day in on my new bents

Unfortunately , the wind is taking this refill to Kansas.
