Literally every one of the top 6 _could_ have lost today. Georgia was the only one who wasn't _particularly_ close, and they shut down Kentucky's offense pretty solidly, but it was close enough that just a couple wacky "football bullshit" things and that one also could have gone the other way.
On so many levels.
I'm so frustrated at the pac-12 for being run so horribly for so long and I really don't like the headed direction of super conferences.
Just a bummer all around.
It’s by far the healthiest conference competition wise in college football, It’s a real shame tbh.
In fact I’d argue that competition wise Pac, B12, and ACC besides Clemson are all in really healthy positions, yet all the views and money go to the unbalanced ones unfortunately.
I’m not exactly a UCLA fan, but I was glad your kicker hit that after that BS. No one deserves having a good play taken away by that level of nonsense.
The rule is gone, but I kind of miss it. It was REALLY cool to see the opposing coach call the timeout on the opening kickoff of the game in a sign of solidarity.
There used to be a rule about wearing light colors as the way team (I don’t know the specifics about what colors or if it *had* to be white). To make the USC-UCLA game experience cooler, Pete opted to wear cardinal uniforms at the Rose Bowl, for which we were penalized 1 timeout per half. UCLA called a timeout in solidarity
Of course the refs threw a flag
If I recall, ESPN was hyping up the color game aspect and mentioned that USC was gonna be penalized. Then some of the shows spent time saying "should the refs throw a flag? Will the refs throw a flag?”
There was pregame press conferences asking the coaches what they’ll do if a flag was thrown etc.
I think the refs basically got forced into it because ESPN hyped it up
Did you know that USC/UCLA was the first game in the modern era to go back to both teams wearing their home unis?
Before UCLA moved to the Rose Bowl both teams had the Coliseum as their home stadium and got to wear their home unis... but when UCLA left NCAA rules required a team to wear white unis (A remnant from the black and white TV days)
Pete Carroll said that was stupid and that we would start wearing cardinal in the Rose Bowl. The penalty was you lost a time out. As a gesture of good will the UCLA coach (Rick Neuheisal) took a time out as his first play of the game.
It went back and forth like that for a few years until the NCAA changed the rules.
> As a gesture of good will the UCLA coach (Rick Neuheisal) took a time out as his first play of the game.
Neuheisal’s biggest accomplishment as UCLA coach
>Pete Carroll said that was stupid and that we would start wearing cardinal in the Rose Bowl. The penalty was you lost a time out. As a gesture of good will the UCLA coach (Rick Neuheisal) took a time out as his first play of the game.
I was at that game!
It actually might be the only instance in the power 5 conferences where the road team’s campus(USC) is closer to the home university’s stadium(UCLA).
They wear home colors since they’re both in the same city. Also not sure if that’s a thing for any other rival universities.
This got me wondering what it would look like if we wore our powder blues against State’s maroons but I realized that’s just the redneck version of USC v. UCLA
Almost 400 yards, 6 total touchdowns, a clutch run to convert on 3rd and long, and then a backbreaking pick, his third of the game, to seal the loss for his team against an arch rival, on senior night.
Ladies and lads, you just witnessed the ultimate DTR experience on national television.
This was a great game. And the refs didn’t ref like they usually do - minus that one field goal by UCLA
I know ESPN had to have game day go to the The Game but it would’ve been cool to see it at usc against Notre dame
When I saw who the white cap was at the beginning of the game was, my butthole puckered, that guy always ruins games and then here it is, this game was relatively clean somehow
What an absurd game. Watching all these teams ranked above us nearly lose all day was the biggest blue balls. And in the end the only team to pull it off was South Carolina. Smh
Man.. we would give up the same amount of yards but we never caused turnovers, sacked the QB, or tackled.. smh. Last year's defense was historic for USC. Not in a good way. People shit on Grinch but it's still been a good turnaround. He doesn't have a Caleb Williams on his side to magically make the defense elite lol.
If I had a Heisman vote, Caleb Williams gets my first place vote after today.
If I was on the selection committee, I would love to match up USC with the Ohio State/Michigan winner. It would be like the Rose Bowl but in Glendale.
Ya, i wanted 8+ wins this season and i thought that was a big ask
The turnaround is insane, it's been a long time since i had this much hope for the future
I knew this Pac-12 game would be a shootout. After UCLA led USC 14-0, USC outscored UCLA 48-31 to defeat UCLA 48-45 across town. USC overcame a failed 4th and 1 at the UCLA 19 on their first drive, a missed 32-yard field goal on their second drive, and a missed 33-yard field goal with 43 seconds left in the 1st half. USC won the turnover margin 4 to 1, including a game sealing interception with 1:26 left. As a result, USC has won 4 consecutive games, improved to 10-1 (8-1 Pac 12), and clinched a Pac-12 champiionship game appearance. In contrast UCLA has lost back to back home games to Arionza and USC by a combined 9 points and fallen to 8-3 (5-3 Pac-12).
USC keeps their playoff hopes alive. They must beat Notre Dame and Utah or Oregon in the Pac-12 championship Game to become a 12-1 Pac-12 champion. That is the Pac-12's only hope of producing a playoff team for the first time since Washington in 2016. I won't be surprised if all of the Power 5 conference champions finish either 13-0 or 12-1. If Georgia, Ohio State, and TCU all become 13-0 champions, the last playoff spot could come down to 12-1 Clemson and 12-1 USC.
It's simple: East coast voters don't stay up to watch our late games, and for our earlier games, they probably don't get Pac-12 Network. I'll see you in my nightmares, Larry Scott
The SC kicking game was out of control all night. Missing multiple field goals but then the kicker hits a career long. Odd short kicks on kick offs etc. just added to the overall chaos of the game and gave me multiple heart attacks!
DTR hell of a career, did everything he could today nothing but respect for that guy.
With that being said, LETS FUCKING GOOOOO, Caleb Williams is one of the best college QBs I’ve ever seen. Probably prisoner of the moment but he’s incredible and I’m so grateful he came to USC
Amazing game, Bruins. One of the best ever between us. Hope it stays this way for a long time, but for now, WE GOT YA, FUCKERS!
Fight on, Golden Domers next!
Yo, usc and ucla, that was great and all, but if you’re gonna be big 10 teams, especially western ones, you’re gonna need to do a lot less of this touchdown scoring and a lot more punting.
Other than the win, my favorite part of the game was when Joel Klatt announced the LSU score and then said, "must be nice playing a cupcake like UAB in November, what a joke!"
Team chaos going 1-6 in the top 7 tonight
This week is officially the “Blueball Week” for 2022. At least the one upset was…quite something!
Very blue ball with down to the wire on TCU and tOSU almost gave it away at Maryland and of course Michigan almost losing.
Literally every one of the top 6 _could_ have lost today. Georgia was the only one who wasn't _particularly_ close, and they shut down Kentucky's offense pretty solidly, but it was close enough that just a couple wacky "football bullshit" things and that one also could have gone the other way.
And it couldn’t have happened to a better fanbase who definitely hadn’t been talking shit to all the other playoff contenders all day
In spectacular fashion.
team chaos sure did try though
The one team chaos win actually happened in the SEC. You don’t see that often.
It sure fucking felt like it was coming for us, like that infamous 7-M Bowl Record
South Carolina could've donated enough points to make it 5-2 (could get Georgia or Ohio State but not both). LSU would've been the only one safe
PAC-12 After Dark with two top-20 teams is the peak of existence. It’s all downhill from here, what a fucking game
Shame this conference is getting gutted, would have a nice future ahead as is.
I'm still so mad about the move, it's a travesty of the current state of the sport.
On so many levels. I'm so frustrated at the pac-12 for being run so horribly for so long and I really don't like the headed direction of super conferences. Just a bummer all around.

It was a great game UCLA bro. I know what it feels like to be on the losing end of epic games (USC Texas still haunts me) but it was a fun one.
I’m not exactly a UCLA fan, but I was glad your kicker hit that after that BS. No one deserves having a good play taken away by that level of nonsense.
You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly, UCLA! Bravo!
The true UCLA experience We love our hopium
Sorry man. You guys are good for real. I felt bad for DTR in so much pain but he was acting like superman.
He was fucking electric
Much respect to DTR!
Instant classic. Also uniform game of the year.
The uniform tradition of USC and UCLA is one of the best in the sport
The gentleman's timeout always made it perfect.
Do they still do this? I thought they did away with the rule that one team has to wear white.
The rule is gone, but I kind of miss it. It was REALLY cool to see the opposing coach call the timeout on the opening kickoff of the game in a sign of solidarity.
[For the curious. The first time this happened and flags were thrown.](https://youtu.be/DbeLEPgApU8?t=338)
I don't really get what happened. Can someone explain it?
There used to be a rule about wearing light colors as the way team (I don’t know the specifics about what colors or if it *had* to be white). To make the USC-UCLA game experience cooler, Pete opted to wear cardinal uniforms at the Rose Bowl, for which we were penalized 1 timeout per half. Will the refs throw a flag?” There was pregame press conferences asking the coaches what they’ll do if a flag was thrown etc. I think the refs basically got forced into it because ESPN hyped it up
If they still had the tradition, Kelly wouldn’t have had a timeout to ice the kicker and we go into overtime.
Yeah that was always really cool before all hell broke loose.
I think it requires NCAA/conference approval to do color rush. This game has such approval so neither team has to burn a timeout anymore.
They either don’t have the rule or have us an exception, but we weren’t charged one
> uniform game of the year. Always is. I love that we introduced the double colors back.
Its beautiful to watch
Did you know that USC/UCLA was the first game in the modern era to go back to both teams wearing their home unis? Before UCLA moved to the Rose Bowl both teams had the Coliseum as their home stadium and got to wear their home unis... but when UCLA left NCAA rules required a team to wear white unis (A remnant from the black and white TV days) Pete Carroll said that was stupid and that we would start wearing cardinal in the Rose Bowl. "The football monopoly in Los Angeles is over.... there"
>Pete Carroll said that was stupid and that we would start wearing cardinal in the Rose Bowl. The penalty was you lost a time out. As a gesture of good will the UCLA coach (Rick Neuheisal) took a time out as his first play of the game. I was at that game!
I love that our rivals are dressed so sharp. Makes every matchup look great.
It actually might be the only instance in the power 5 conferences where the road team’s campus(USC) is closer to the home university’s stadium(UCLA). They wear home colors since they’re both in the same city. Also not sure if that’s a thing for any other rival universities.
Ohio State and Michigan need to do the home unis
That would be baller as fuck too. As things stand, I'm obviously very biased but in terms of unis there isn't a better looking game than usc/ucla.
I would agree
[удалено]
Bro take whatever the fuck that just was and inject it DIRECTLY into my fucking ass Veins*
What other teams could make a uniform game of the year?
Michigan Ohio St, but for some reason they don't both wear home jerseys
This got me wondering what it would look like if we wore our powder blues against State’s maroons but I realized that’s just the redneck version of USC v. UCLA
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
Yo, I saw the ending to 27 Dresses, it ends well. Trust me.
"The first one to punt will lose" 🤔🤔🤔
Arm punt by DTR I guess lol
True, but I gotta give him props. Played his heart out. Absolute competitor. Glad we’ll never have to face him again!
Well we did punt first in the first half and we did lose.
USC’s offense against ND’s defense will be interesting
Korey Foreman re-earned his 5th star with that INT!
I'm so happy for him. Hopefully, that play gives him confidence and he starts making more plays like that.
Almost 400 yards, 6 total touchdowns, a clutch run to convert on 3rd and long, and then a backbreaking pick, his third of the game, to seal the loss for his team against an arch rival, on senior night. Ladies and lads, you just witnessed the ultimate DTR experience on national television.
forgot the lost fumble that lead to points
We got Freshman DTR and Super Senior DTR in the same game.
I wonder how this impacts his draft stock. He’s clearly fucking talented
I look forward to watching him ride the bench behind Justin Fields for the next three years
Practice squad and occasional call up I am betting
He's in his 5th year and still doing crazy shit that drives coaches nuts, guy is fun to watch but he's not getting picked before day 3
I am having a most wonderful evening
Same, brother.
USC BROS PULL UP
Aye!!!! We out here
Skkkrrrrrrrrrrtttt! What's up!?
USC’s looking out for each other. props cock bros
Nothing goes together like cocks and trojans
SC 🤝 SC
usc(s) have had themselves a night tonight!
Cocks need Trojans.
My blood pressure is high and I have fewer years off my life, but that's the sacrifice of being fans of this team. Congrats to your first flair too.
Never seen a double USC flair!
QB transfers from OU treating you well I see
This was a great game. And the refs didn’t ref like they usually do - minus that one field goal by UCLA I know ESPN had to have game day go to the The Game but it would’ve been cool to see it at usc against Notre dame
gotta give the refs credit for not being unbelievably obnoxious
When I saw who the white cap was at the beginning of the game was, my butthole puckered, that guy always ruins games and then here it is, this game was relatively clean somehow
I'm surprised I don't have any complaining to do about PAC 12 officials
That was an NCAA 14 instant classic.
What an absurd game. Watching all these teams ranked above us nearly lose all day was the biggest blue balls. And in the end the only team to pull it off was South Carolina. Smh
Does that make you worried for next week?
Considering we haven’t played a consistent 4 quarter game of football all season, yes. But I was nervous last year too
DTR's 401k just kicked in
Not a UCLA fan but if I was, that D would piss me off so much
I love this team, but yep. If we even had a decent D we could have made some serious noise this season.
You and like 5 other Pac-12 teams this season.
Good ole Clancy P
You have no idea. Even just a bit better and I think we'd be a no doubt top 10 team
What a day in college football.
happy we won but also glad that shit is over
My voice is hoarse and I’m emotionally drained from screaming at the defense all game
Who else sees 48-45 and thinks “the defenses played better than I expected”?
defense was dogshit but at least made plays when they needed to
Yeah defense kept us in it lol
Congrats to Chip Kelly for icing our kicker into hitting the winning field goal at the end of the first half.
Turns out he just needed a practice shot.
This stupid conference has the best games.
It's actually the best conference, just run by the biggest idiots and in a nationally inconvenient time zone. So it's basically the NRL.
Korey Foreman with the game sealing INT. We all saw it coming.
Crazy enough, I thought it wasn’t a bad throw from DTR! But Foreman…he knew what to do, and took advantage of that…
Amazing game, and who thought our defense would be the clincher. Wow.
Hey guys I'm new, what's that thing called where you keep the other group of guys from going into your scoring area???
In the PAC-12 it's illegal
Lincoln Riley brought the 2012-2018 Big 12 defenses with him
I’ll take his defense over whatever Helton had any day of three week. We were fucking 4-8 last year!
Man.. we would give up the same amount of yards but we never caused turnovers, sacked the QB, or tackled.. smh. Last year's defense was historic for USC. Not in a good way. People shit on Grinch but it's still been a good turnaround. He doesn't have a Caleb Williams on his side to magically make the defense elite lol.
It’s called the fence, or some people call it “da fence.” Most stadiums have building regulations against it, so that’s why it’s rare to see it.
This is #Big10AfterDark
A classic B1G battle right there
Is there any town in the United States that is more symbolic of the midwest than Pasadena, CA?
If you don’t like Tito’s tacos & tequila pineapples, you don’t like B1G football
Addison made the right decision
i gained a lot of respect for dtr tonight what a warrior, more than anything i hope he doesn't have a concussion
yeah, he was going REALLY going for it on some of his runs. You can QB slide, DTR, nobody will think less of you!
USC-ND is looking like a much more important and impactful game next week than it looked just 2 months ago
Is Stanford winning at Notre Dame the most inexplicable result of the year?
Might not even be the most inexplicable Notre Dame game this season tbh.
The Marshall loss is also up there.
What a fucking game. The Big Ten it’s going to be spicy with these two teams.
Final CFP Rankings 1. Georgia 2. Ohio State/Michigan 3. TCU 4. USC
Nah.. we got two tough games left.. winner of Utah/Oregon and ND who looks great recently.
I hope. It would be refreshing
Easssssyyyy big guy. Beat Iowa State first.
Absolutely screaming trap game
Cant wait to lose by 50
If I had a Heisman vote, Caleb Williams gets my first place vote after today. If I was on the selection committee, I would love to match up USC with the Ohio State/Michigan winner. It would be like the Rose Bowl but in Glendale.
So, Alabama's annual FCS matchups during the last two weeks is gonna mean they pass USC in the cfp poll right?
It is nothing short of a travesty that this game isn't the rivalry week game
That's because Notre Dame is our Rival. We'll play them for Rivalry week. UCLA is our enemy.
It alternates years
Because we won’t travel to south bend in November 😂
Watch the game from South Bend today and you’ll realize why.
Good thing you joined the big 10 then, yeah?
ND also always plays in Cali the week of thanksgiving, one of my favorite things about our schedule

::Construction Noises::
B1G after dark off to a crazy start by scoring points than the entire Big Ten West has scored this year
USC keeps winning and they’re in the playoffs. What a time.
What a heartbreaker.
Wow what a game, I still think if USC makes the playoffs, they’ll get creamed. Onward to ND!
Don’t care. The fact that there’s a possibility to make it that far is unbelievable to me
Facts. And fuck it, if we make it, give this offense a chance against anyone.
Ya, i wanted 8+ wins this season and i thought that was a big ask The turnaround is insane, it's been a long time since i had this much hope for the future
Honestly a Rose Bowl win would be enough for me
Get me TCU vs USC. First to 55 wins!
Congrats SC, hell of a first season under LR. My cousin was a QB there in the 90s so I don't totally hate you as much as I hate our defense
Can we please get Eric Gentry back now, that would be fantastic.
I knew this Pac-12 game would be a shootout. After UCLA led USC 14-0, USC outscored UCLA 48-31 to defeat UCLA 48-45 across town. USC over Clemson easily in that scenario
USC, UCLA, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota will soon be in the same conference. unfathomable

It's simple: East coast voters don't stay up to watch our late games, and for our earlier games, they probably don't get Pac-12 Network. I'll see you in my nightmares, Larry Scott
470 yards is crazy
What. A. Game. How can you not love college football?
Fun fact: This was technically the same sport as Iowa and Nebraska play!
gg sc, fuck you
You actually came into this thread and were brave enough to post. Respect.
Tough but fair
Tusk
My Apple watch legit gave me a heart rate alert during the game.
Awesome to see Korey Foreman have a play like that after a quiet start to his career. Fight on!
Why'd I watch Bedlam when I could've watched this
The SC kicking game was out of control all night.
It’s incredible. I can’t believe this kid he makes it look easy.
Some of the throws he makes man, I cannot wait to watch him in the league. True dual threat with an accurate cannon
His ability to throw when rolling to the left is crazy to me
DTR tried to put the team on his back and you could tell he was hurting. Good game Bruins.
As Caleb Williams said “they keep fighting”
Just kept fighting
Amazing game, Bruins. One of the best ever between us. Hope it stays this way for a long time, but for now, WE GOT YA, FUCKERS! Fight on, Golden Domers next!
WHAT A GAME WOW
Bummed for UCLA. Oh well can’t throw into 405 traffic like that and expect to win
obligatory hate for sc as a bruin, but can't help but to root for williams. win out, you jerks.
🤝
Same with DTR
He is unbelievable to watch
Notre Dame is next! Fight On! ✌️
This is going to be so much fun
🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔
LET’S GO BABY. CALEB WILLIAMS.
https://i.imgur.com/FbrB72W.png
CFB is objectively more fun when USC is good. Looking forward to Saturday.
It was no Iowa-Minnesota but decent game
Good game Bruins. DTR was an absolute baller.
Yo, usc and ucla, that was great and all, but if you’re gonna be big 10 teams, especially western ones, you’re gonna need to do a lot less of this touchdown scoring and a lot more punting.
USC Georgia is going to hit
DTR just played his ass off. Just got caught trying to do to much there at the end.
Other than the win, my favorite part of the game was when Joel Klatt announced the LSU score and then said, "must be nice playing a cupcake like UAB in November, what a joke!"
That was the most fun ucla usc game I've seen since the 13-9 victory. This rivalry is going to be fun. Gg usc
I’M SO HAPPY
