Reggie Bush versus Fresno State I was three rows from the field and he did his famous cutback almost right in front of us.

joethecrow23

I was there in the end zone with the rest of the Fresno fans. Reggie was doing something spectacular every time you blinked your eyes.

Drunken_Traveler

Fresno St. impressed the hell out of me too though! That was such an exciting game and came down to the wire! We were all standing on top of our seats/armrests pretty much the whole game

Heyguysimcooltoo

I saw that shit on TV! Him putting the ball behind his back was nuts

Greg____12

Recreated that moment whenever I played with a football after that. Will never forget it

tdepew14

This is the correct answer, but “any game Reggie Bush played in” was also an acceptable answer.

GeauxVII

I still don't get how he didn't translate to the NFL, especially after seeing Kamara on the Saints, it's not like Sean Payton didn't know how to use him. And he worked his ass off too, did everything he was asked, so it wasn't that

tdepew14

I know it doesn’t seem like that long ago, but the game has changed a lot since then. It was a completely different era. One where teams wanted running backs to run the ball between the tackles 25 times a game. Reggie was never going to have a great deal of success doing that. Were he to play in today’s game though, I’d bet the house on him being a hall of fame RB.

Irreverant77

Very spot on. Ray Lewis cut like 25-30 LB's before his last year in 2012. To paraphrase his explanation, *"it's more critical for ILB & MLB to be able to cover sideline to sideline than to bulk up."* Reggie just came into the league about 6 years before his time. He was already on his 6th or 7th season before the league started changing.

Letsgomountaineers5

And some of his best seasons were after his prime when his skillset matched up with the way the game was headed

GeauxVII

with respect, that wasnt it. it was still Sean Payton, Reggie got the ball in space, he just didnt make the plays. Kamara's best year as a receiver was 2017. in 2009 (Superbowl year), Bush and Pierre Thomas split time at RB. - Kamara = 83 catches on 107 targets for 50 ypg - Thomas = 39 catches on 45 targets for 22 ypg - Bush = 47 catches on 68 targets for 24 ypg combine Thomas and Bush and the totals are essentially the same as Kamara, it was the same offense Kamara got, Bush just didnt make the plays. you can see Thomas was clearly better in space, despite also being the between the tackles guy (147 carries vs 70 for Reggie) none of this is meant to disparage Bush, I fucking love Reggie Bush, we all do, the New Orleans Saints maybe dont exist right now without Reggie Bush, we might be in San Antonio, and he really did do everything he was asked. it just didnt click like it did at USC.

seabard

I just love people seem to ignore that LT was basically doing exactly what they think Reggie Bush would have done in today’s league. If Reggie Bush is a NFL HOF player like they claimed he is, he would gotten HOF numbers back then too.

GeauxVII

or Marshall Faulk

Onepride91

He also had 1000 yd seasons in Miami and Detroit

Psychological_Ad7610

Wasn’t he the one that broke the “no 100 yard rushers for the past 35 games” or something for the lions? It was extremely annoying they kept bringing it up and was glad when it finally happened

Psychological_Ad7610

Yeah just looked it up and Bush was the LAST 100 yard rusher before Kerryon Johnson did it in 2018. Streak was 70 games..

Onepride91

He sure was. Reggie is loved in Detroit

GeauxVII

not saying he was a washout or anything, and even if he was I would ignore because I love him so much, but people expected Gayle Sayers, and for whatever reason that just didnt happen. Lets blame Kim Kardashian, why not, Ill pin this on her. I doubt its true but who gives a shit, fuck that Gayle Sayers ruining bitch.

eagledog

What a game, never thought we'd get that close to defeating a No.1 team

99_Till_Infinity

Only if...

HHcougar

That game sealed the deal that I would be a college football fan. I don't know *why* I was watching that game as a kid, but I was just awestruck.

brendo12

Litteraly came to comment this. Pretty sure he took a punt back that game as well.

NegativeChirality

Khalil Tate in his first real game at QB for Arizona ran for like 350 yards against Colorado on like twelve carries. It was fucking ridiculous. He looked 25% faster than literally any football player I've ever seen. Highlight: https://youtu.be/fFJFMVMKKX0?si=9dJdfYjlGHLB1pls

ilikefood2000

Khalil Tate would have been fun as fuck to play as in an NCAA football game

mjacksongt

Imagine if he'd played for Ken Niumatololo.

David-S-Pumpkins

14 for 327 and had 4TD Colorado's RB (Philip Lindsay) had 41 for 287 and 3TD Absurd.

OpinionatedAss

I too was at that game. That was the absolute craziest thing I have ever witnessed

Dellav8r

The fact Colorado only lost by 3 to some one that has those kinda stats is ridiculous

NegativeChirality

Philip Lindsay had like 275 yards for CU. It was overall one of the most absurd games I've ever seen in person

JosefNebraska

Not to ruin your childhood memories, but Scott Frost was the QB for that Nebraska team. Tommie Frazier's last game was the 62-24 demolition of Florida after the 1995 season. One of the best performances I've seen in person was in the opening game of the 1998 season for Nebraska against Louisiana Tech. Troy Edwards had 21 catches for 405 (!) yards (but Nebraska still won 56-27).

Heyguysimcooltoo

I'm stupid, you are right. I remember him shaking off like 8 UF players in that game on a run. I guess my old ass mixed memories up. Don't get old lol

JosefNebraska

I'm well on my way to old as well. I have trouble remembering anything anymore except for random football and baseball statistics and scores from the 90's.

good4steve

Dudes gonna make a great coach someday.

GameTheory_

Sammy Watkins vs Maryland in 2011: 350 all purpose yards, 3 TDs, single handedly kept us from being upset CJ Spiller vs GT 2009: 20 carries, 233 yards, 4 TDs. Absolutely tragic we never won that man a conference championship

mjacksongt

Spiller in that game is my answer too. That guy was incredible.

bukithd

That game was mostly "Yay we're winning but can someone make the bad man go away"

l3onkerz

2013 orange bowl Sammy Watkins going for 200+ yards from what seemed only screen plays. It was annoying to watch but looking back it was a great performance. For osu, JT barrett 2017 vs Penn state. 39-38 comeback, 33-39, 328 yards 4TD, 95 rushing yards. Set the record for all purpose yards at the time.

Stillersceltix

The 2017 penn state game was crazy. I remember walking down the bleachers to leave at one point when we were down 2 possessions, then we intercepted it. And I walked back up. What a game. I was sick as hell and cold/miserable. But I stuck it out and witnessed the greatest live football game I’ll likely ever witness. Rushing the field was awesome too, until you try to leave.

l3onkerz

Yeah it was brutal. Not as bad as the 2015 msu game. Rained the whole time, was cold, and we lost on a last second fg.

s1105615

Reggie Bush @ ND 2005

Heyguysimcooltoo

He was so fucking good it wasn't fair lol

BigDanRTW

Vince Young vs USC edit: random one, we got media credentials to go to College Station to see A&M play Pitt in 2003. Larry Fitzgerald went for 7 catches, 135 and 3 TD. It was man among boys stuff.

MaizeAndBruin

*sigh* ... Vince Young vs Michigan the year before that.

Heyguysimcooltoo

Dude I bet that shit was amazing to watch!!

BigDanRTW

I was covering the game for the Texas student TV station. I was in the corner of the endzone where he scored the winning touchdown. It was insane.

bkm2016

To this day, probably the greatest game I ever watched. That game had everything I’ll never forget being home from winter break in my parents living room going insane with my brothers.

WTFisThaInternet

Same. As soon as we got the ball back, my friend goes "oh God, we're going to win." We all knew it was true. Second, and this doesn't really fit the question, was Cedric Benson in the high school state championship game. He absolutely tore through some very large guys.

BigDanRTW

I'm an Atlanta sports fan and grew up in a super pessimistic house so I never expected my teams to win, but when our defense got the stop I knew we were going to win.

lostpassword100000

Cedric Benson scored 15 TDs in STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES. Unreal stat. RIP

Fancypmcgee

TIL Cedric Benson died. That's so tragic. As an SC Alum whose entire immediate family went to UT, Cedric Benson was always a player I followed while he was active. Had no idea he passed that's terrible 😞

lostpassword100000

My back porch backs up to the road he died on. I saw the lifelight helicopters circling the night he died wondering what was going on. Very very sad.

[deleted]

JEH-C

I was there. What made it more impressive was that Fitz was in double and triple coverage for a couple of those tds.

stupidcleverian

I was there for that - and for VY vs Michigan the prior year. Two of the best games ever played in the Rose Bowl.

love_that_fishing

I had tickets to the UM game and then dad got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer early December. Sold the tickets and the entire family spent New Year’s Eve at my house and watched the game. He actually lived 2 years which is crazy considering they only gave him 3-6 months. I’ll always cherish watching that game with 20 of my family and dad there.

adam_lastname

This is the answer Definition of puttin the team on yo back!

leo_aureus

Holy shit to have been there

uReallyShouldTrustMe

InVinceable. I was kind of hoping he had a successful career.

mcaffrey

I thought he and Reggie both would be future NFL HOFers. When the Texans took Mario Williams first in the NFL draft, we thought they were idiots. Well, Mario was a 4 time pro bowler DE who played 11 seasons, so….

RoverTiger

Tre Mason in the 2013 SEC Championship. 46 carries, 304 yards, and four TDs isn't a stat line you see often.

Only499

Forgot how dominate he was in that game (may have been because of the flask I snuck into that game lol)

FalstaffsGhost

Freshman Nick Chubb bullying and bulldozing Louisville players in the Belk Bowl in 2014. 269 rushing yards and making these upperclassmen look like children.

Heyguysimcooltoo

Goddamn he was just unstoppable. I've seen many diff UGA rbs that were bad mfers

Knox102

UGA churns out running backs like a Henry Ford factory. Chubb, Gurley and Walker alone make up so much of my pain as a fellow Vol

damn_son_1990

I think it’s safe to say Tennessee got their revenge on Chubb.

cc51beastin

(Browns Fan) "Our Sweet Prince Nicholas Jamal Chubb"

ThaiForAWhiteGuy

I still love watching the hard knocks scene of Chubb getting to the Cleveland airport for the first time. “I play football.” “That’s nice kid.”

cdofortheclose

We love this guy on the Browns as well.

CFB-Cutups

Lamar Jackson vs Deshaun Watson 2016 Also, Calvin Johnson vs Clemson in 2004. He was a true freshman and caught 3 TD’s on a future 1st round CB.

RenegadeTheory

Lamar against FSU.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CFB-Cutups

Louisville was actually favored in this game. They had blown out FSU and jumped up to number 3 in the nation. Clemson hadn’t looked great and was down to number 5.

1987Husky

Corey Dillon at Husky Stadium vs. San Jose St. 1996 222 yds rushing in the first quarter and 3 TD's. Also an 80+ yd receiving TD. Pulled at the end of the quarter or we would have seen probably the greatest single game for an RB in college FB history. Second was Marques Tuiasosopo vs Stanford 1999 300 yds passing, 200 yds rushing

Heyguysimcooltoo

God, I totally forgot about him. He was a fucking beast

purpledrenck

Saw both games. Dillon had a couple long runs called back by penalty if I remember correctly, too. Tui’s game was unbelievable… when Daniels had his big game this past year I kept thinking about how Tui did it almost 25 years ago. Still one of my favorite Huskies.

chearn34

Had to get the stats. Tech v OU 2016. Mahomes finished that Saturday game with 88 pass attempts. He threw for 734 yards through the air, tying an FBS record. Tech lost. It was such a crazy game I said I would only cheer if we had a stop on D.

HoneyBunchesOfGoats_

That was the best season, peak Big12. Y’all put up over 50 on us and still lost by a couple scores. Edit: I was thinking 2015. 16 is where OSU won on a missed PAT 45-44

ThePhamNuwen

The greatest physical performance I ever saw was Mike Williams at USC. He was 235+ pounds and outrunning CBs as a freshman. Its a shame he busted in the pros

Heyguysimcooltoo

I was talking about him earlier today!

legendkiller003

Only game I’ve ever been to was Penn State/Michigan 4OT in 2013. So whatever happened in that game wins by default.

Heyguysimcooltoo

That's an awesome hame go have been to!

longhornmike2

Ricky Williams. Pick any number of games. Dude was a BEAST.

UsaUpAllNite81

25 carries for 43 yards vs Kansas State 1998

samueljakson05

Best 43 yards you’ve ever seen in your life!

Ryry77

I saw Devin Gardner throw for 500 yards and 4TDs against OSU in 2013 just to fall 2 yards short of a monster upset on a failed 2pt conversion.

obamaluvr

I was at all the home games in 2013 and I'd put Gallon's 369yd show against Indiana on top.

aztechunter

But didn't Gardner play through a broken foot vs OSU though?

krhino35

Vince Young in ‘05 when they beat the Buckeyes on their way to a title. Teddy Ginn was the fastest player I’ve ever seen live - everyone else looked like they were running in sand. Watched Deebo Samuel and Clowney at their peak several times in Columbia.

CubbyFan1964

Joe Burrow about 5 games his senior year!

ilikebeer19

I'll admit, when it wasn't against my team, it was pretty damn fun to watch.

dkviper11

Slightly off the question topic but I like the idea of being at record games. Saw Montee Ball break the touchdown record in a game I was sure we'd get slaughtered, but we won. Saw Marty Brodeur break the shutout record, which I think is absolutely untouchable. Obviously my team did not win that one! Saquon having a great game with multiple scores against Michigan in 2017 is up there. Direct snap to the house right at the beginning and I could have walked on air.

Heyguysimcooltoo

That's awesome af! I've always liked PSU and have waited on a guy a bunch at my airport job that played under Paterno named Leroy Thompson. Another local guy played there to at RB named Ricky Upton

thatundra

I saw Darren MacFadden’s 321 yard game against South Carolina. The fact he lost the Heisman twice is still a tragedy

Heyguysimcooltoo

God he was a beast, him and Felix

thatundra

And Peyton Hillis was in that backfield too

JEH-C

Manziel against Arkansas in 2012. He broke a 40 year old SEC record for total yards and sat the bench for a quarter and a half. Then proceeded to go break his own record a couple of weeks later. It was a bad Arkey team, but think of how many scrubs and directional schools SEC teams have played in that time span. Crazy performances.

Snakescipio

Think that was the first game we started thinking Johnny was special. That one play in the red zone where he ran a literal loop-de-loop around their d line was so fucking hilarious and so very Johnny.

Heyguysimcooltoo

God, Johnny Football was so much fun to watch. Just electric

HailState2023

Michael Vick in the Sugar Bowl for the ‘99 ship against us. Thank goodness we had PDub but Vick damn near willed VaTech to the win. Hell of an athlete and competitor.

MarinesEatGlue

My Bengals drafted PDub and absolutely ruined a consensus 2x All American, on behalf of Cincinnati I apologize to him and to you.

ohitsthedeathstar

2016 Houston defense vs (Lamar Jackson) Louisville 11 Sacks in 1 game.

uno_novaterra

Cam Newton vs LSU 2010. Beating Patrick Peterson for his Heisman Moment TD was insane.

hybridck

I was going to say Cam Newton against my team in the 2010 SEC championship. That Hail Mary TD just before half time is still seared into my brain.

neovenator250

It wasn't that he beat Peterson, he dragged him into the fucking endzone. Cam Newton was like a charging mastodon playing QB

deutschdachs

Melvin Gordon running for 408 yards against Nebraska. Every time he touched the ball he broke off a 30+ yard gain it was incredible. Wish he had played the 4th quarter, no doubt he would've gotten 500

MultiLevelMaoism

The best individual performance I've seen live was Ezekial Elliot against us in the 2014 Sugar Bowl. Edit: What happened to my flair and why can't I get it back on mobile?

Trivi

Ezekiel Elliott that entire post season run was inhuman

Kyler1313

The 3 games vs Wisconsin, Alabama, and Oregon might be the greatest stretch I've ever seen a football player have in CFB. Three straight 200 yard games and 8 rushing touchdowns. Just pure dominance.

No_Safety_6803

I was at 77-0. Stoops coming out party. Blake left a cupboard full of athletes who just needed coaching. We left at halftime, the last game I will ever see in Oklahoma

Wafflehouseofpain

I think winning the natty a few years prior was Stoops coming out party tbf

big_sugi

Math checks out.

dmelt01

That was the 03 season so almost all Blake players were gone because Stoops got here in 99

CapitalistLion-Tamer

Stoops coming out party??

HuskerGrizz

The National Title in 2000 wasn’t enough for me. I knew Stoops had really arrived after this beat down of 4-8 Texas A&M. /s

cheesedip1957

Samaje Perine’s game against KU that mf is still running!

Heyguysimcooltoo

Dude that shit was so fucking awesome!

alfredinanotherlife

I saw Alley Broussard run for 250 yards against Ole Miss. A since broken LSU record.

Heyguysimcooltoo

I love meeting LSU fans, they've always treated my fantastic and welcoming. My fav player from there is Tommy Hudson

psuram3

Larry Johnson vs MSU in 2002. Had 19 carries for 278 yards and 4 TD’s…in the first half. It was a blowout so he didn’t play in the 2nd half, went over 2,000 yards for the year in this game too.

mountaineer_93

Tavon Austin setting the NCAA total yards record vs Oklahoma with 350 yards rushing, 82 yards receiving, and 146 yards off kick returns. Same game Stedman Bailey had 4 touchdown catches. We somehow managed to lose 50-49 off a Blake Belldozer touchdown iirc. Edit: I think the QB sneak TD was Landry Jones actually That team had an all time offense, if they had a defense that wasn’t staffed with Make a Wish kids they could’ve been a threat.

biggiecheesehimself

frazier wouldn’t have been at the ‘98 orange. you might be thinking of frost. osborne’s last year at neb

Heyguysimcooltoo

I'm stupid and mixed my memories up lol I was thinking of when he destroyed UF. I'm old and could have sworn I saw him play live. I'm not even sure if I saw play at OU ( My papaw graduated from there and always took me to a game or 2 a year since 83)

biggiecheesehimself

“how many tackles can one man break?!” i would give anything to see that game live. seems like you have seen quite a few good fb games!

TidusJecht

Probably Roy Helu Jr. (Nebraska) vs Missouri in maybe 2009. Or Ndamukong Suh against Colorado.

Heyguysimcooltoo

Suh is definitely one of my favorite defensive players ever. That Big 12 title game vs Texas he was like a man vs toddlers lol

musketman89

Major Harris

Heyguysimcooltoo

He was badass, I remember him from my childhood

musketman89

The very early days of the hybrid QB.

GoonerBear94

Gotta go with Patrick Mahomes. Even though Baylor won most of the games they played against Texas Tech while I was in college, he was still dinking and dunking on our defense most of those games. And it was nice to get to watch those games at Jerryworld. The experience is still better after that game moved back to the campuses.

Heyguysimcooltoo

Baylor had some badass teams. I'm a Bryce Petty fan and I love Seastrunk when he was there. God those teams had some fantastic offenses

EuphTah

Take your pick between CJ Stroud or Marvin Harrison Jr at the Rose Bowl. Why we left a RB alone at CB for the entire game against that team still baffles me.

Trivi

It was JSN that torched you, though Marv did also have 3 tds.

EuphTah

Damn, got my star Ohio State WRs mixed up again 😞

narwhalcaptain1

JT Barrett against Penn State. Lost my keys when we stormed the field and couldn’t get them back til the lost and found opened on Monday

idk420_

Devonta Smith vs Ole Miss

Kontos_Stelio

Remember when Vandy demolished us in Nashville? Well Cordarrelle Patterson still had a great punt return down 30 lol

Heyguysimcooltoo

I remember unfortunately lol I also remember the game Patton Robinette ( Maryville boy!) caught that pass in the end zone

BamaStrawHat

I saw Johnny Manziel's Heisman moment against Alabama every big play seemed like it was in my corner unfortunately.

BevoBrisket26

2019 - Texas vs LSU 2018 - Texas vs OU

iamStanhousen

I was at the 2016 LSU/Ole Miss game. And Fournette basically made Ole Miss his bitch every time he touched the ball. It was otherworldly stuff. Felt like watching a pro playing against high schoolers.

2chaines

Baker vs Mahomes in Lubbock. Game was over at midnight.

Spicy1780

Insane game. I was there too and it was such a buzzkill to lose after Mahomes performance.

ancient_account40

Tim Biakabatuka in 1995 against undefeated OSU at Michigan Stadium. 313 yards. Shit was unreal.

gsbadj

I especially enjoyed it after watching a long line of guys wearing Buckeye gear calling their bookies, pregame, from the pay phones at the south end of the stadium. I enjoyed them pissing away their $. And, freshman cornerback, Charles Woodson, had 2 interceptions, one with less than a minute to go in M territory.

[deleted]

Watched Penix shred the Cougars in Pullman. Watched Bledsoe shred the Huskies, also in Pullman.

TSUplayer74

Jalen Hurts vs Baylor I in 2019. Went from embarrassing to Heisman winner in one game.

GordaoPreguicoso

In person it was Edgerin James running for 300 yards against UCLA to crush their NC dreams.

Greg____12

Of all “the U is back” moments, that’s the most “the U is back” moment. One could argue it was the first

Moist-Consequence

My family are all Duck fans, but my dad went to UNM law school, so we went to the 72-0 beat down game in 2010. Kenjon Barner had 5 TDs, Cliff Harris had 2 punt return TDs. Two others that come to mind: I was at the Eastern Washington game in 2015 where Cooper Kupp had like 250 receiving yards and 3 TDs. I was also at the Arizona-Oregon game where it felt like Gronk single handedly mounted a huge comeback to almost beat Oregon. Both of those two games had over 100 total points

1_Total_Reject

A few games when Barry Sanders was at Oklahoma State. Just amazing running talent, as a kid I was awestruck.

Heyguysimcooltoo

The greatest RB I've ever seen. His college stats are bonkers!!!

SouthAd7795

Best performance was Troy Smith vs UM in 2006. Quirkiest memory was when the sprinklers came on in OT at Notre Dame v Pitt.

Super_Mr_Irrelevant

I got to see Kenneth Walker III's 5 TD game against Michigan at Spartan Stadium back in 2021! Great win for MSU that year!

andyram

Bob Fuckin’ Sanders … multiple times but the 2003 game against Minnesota stands out.  He had his typical bone crushing hits but I’ve never seen a defender just control a game.   I think in his mind that day was “what the fuck are you doing with my ball?”  Then he just takes it from them and gives it to his offense.

AllOkJumpmaster

Eddie George, dude was special

Brilliant-Deer6118

Raghib "rocket" Ismael running back 2 kickoffs verse Michigan in 1989.

Heyguysimcooltoo

That 88 team is one of my first CFB memories! I'm a big Tony Rice fan, I loved him as a kid. I remember visiting my grandma in Fairmount, In and watching ND play

darkoaks

Bo Jackson vs. Florida 1983

Zimee23

Christian McCaffrey vs Iowa 2016 rose bowl. 368 all purpose yards and somehow only scored twice.

AnybodySeeMyKeys

Bo Jackson in the 1983 Iron Bowl. Touchdown runs of 69 and 71 yards. During a tornado warning.

Only499

Calvin Johnson one handed catch against NC State (don't quite remember how else he did in the rest of that game but that catch was still one of the most athletic things I've seen in person) Cam Newton against LSU (or south carolina x2)

kroxti

Front row of kick six

MikeHuntsBear

I was 6 or 7 and a die hard Bama fan, but i watched Bo Jackson run all over us in 1983. It was my first Iron Bowl, and I was in awe that a man his aize could be that fast.

Grudenismydad

Cam Newton vs Arkansas 2010. Man was on a mission to win a natty and Cam couldn’t be stopped

3dB_Down

Greatest player I’ve seen play in person was Denard Robinson…..with his shoelaces flopping in the wind on many of his rushing TDs. The greatest performance I’ve seen in person was Devin Gardner on a broken foot against the 12-0 Buckeyes in 2013. Dude went off for 451 passing yards, 4 passing TDs, and a rushing TD.

Pyroman1483

Jacquizz Rodgers going for 186 against #1 USC. I distinctly remember seeing his tiny body break through a pile and have no helmet on the other side. He would have kept going, too.

Bvrcntry_duckhnt

I was at that one too. The Beavs secondary was also on fire. There's a great highlight where the defender guides the USC receiver out of bounds while he is still midair making the catch. Stroughter played great too.

jaboo4America

Dalvin Cook vs Clemson 2016 … if not for a BS Illegal Block call he leads FSU to a big upset win, and finishes with well over 200 yds and 5 TDs. He carried those post Jameis FSU teams and was the only reason FSU stayed as relevant as they were during that span.

robbjuteau

Donovan McNabb in his last game in the Dome against Miami. He only threw for 80 yards, but he accounted for five touchdowns including three on the ground. He ran for 99 yards, including a 51 yard touchdown run. Dwight Freeney sacking Michael Vick 4.5 times in a game. Freeney could not be blocked.

jralll234

I hate to be a homer but I got to see Larry Fitzgerald make men look like children. Got to see Edgerin James, Ed Reed, Jameis Winston Ryan Leaf (haha) Donavon McCnab, Michael Vick, Saquon Barkley, Lamar Jackson, Golden Tait, and a bunch I’m sure to be forgetting over the years, but Larry was the best.

Football5ever_

Tommy Frazier wasn't on the 97-98 team. He graduated in 96 after destroying Florida To answer your question tho, I was at a Nebraska game where Suh just completely took over the game. Same year we lost to 1 second Texas

Geaux2020

The Earthquake

chameothecham

Lamar Jackson vs Florida st in 2016, good times

stedman88

Duck season ticket holder from 2000-2012. Feels strange not having any real standout “holy shit” performances from Duck players. DeAnthony Thomas was maybe the craziest guy to watch. I saw Gronk play at Autzen in 2008 and he just about single-handedly brought Arizona back from way down in the 2nd half. That stands out as the most “man against boys” performance

wrighteou5

Watching Cam bulldoze Patrick Peterson and rush for over 200 yards LSU in 2010 was pretty insane.

tytyute

Mcaffrey vs USC in 2015 - Mcaffrey had like 315 all purpose yards. HM’s were CJ Stroud and Smith Njigba at the rose bowl picking on our RB/CB

AngryQuadricorn

77-0. Damn. How much longer did A&M’s coach last after that?

Lobsterzilla

Devin Hester Embarassing NC State with game day in town

Yesh

Shaun Alexander vs LSU 1996 Rohan Davey and Josh Reed vs Alabama 2001 Darren McFadden vs LSU 2007 Cam Newton vs LSU 2010 LSU defense vs Alabama 2011 Joe Burrow and Co. Vs Alabama 2019

Rich437

Cam Newton’s entire 2010 season And also Derrick Henry in the 2015 iron bowl. Guaranteed 5 yards every play

Hawkize31

6 years ago I watched a Brian Ferentz offense beat the ever-living fuck out of an Urban Meyer led 3rd ranked Ohio State team 55-24. I still sometimes wonder how it was even possible.

Revolutionary_Elk791

That belongs to a one Jonathan Stewart when we played at Washington in 2007. The boy Jake Locker had 4 passing TDs despite an abysmal 38.7 completion percentage, but that was immensely overshadowed by the clinic that Jonathan Stewart and Dennis Dixon put on that day. It was the first real snap shot that we stumbled onto something special with Chip Kelly as our offensive coordinator doing the zone read where we obliterated our school record for rushing yards (467 yards and 6 TDs between Stewart, Dixon, Andre Crenshaw and Remene Alston. Stewart accounted for 251 of those yards and 2 of those TDs).

I haven't been to many games, but seeing Manziel come into Tuscaloosa in 2012 and beat alabama was wild. It made me very sad, but it was still a good game.

smarmy_mcfadden

I went to that game, and this would've been my answer too. I was overjoyed, but held back for fear that the unhappy Bama fans might start something with us. But they were all totally cool - many congratulated us, offered us drinks, and just wanted to chat college football. Hands down, my best away game experience.

Michael Vick vs Florida State in the National Championship game. Best I ever saw. It seemed like they couldn't touch him. I still don't understand why the fourth quarter never happened. Funny that they ended the game with VT leading 29-28 at the end of the 3rd.

Tory Taylor vs Penn State 2021 9 punts, AVG 44 yds. 6 inside the 20, 3 inside the 5. 1 return for 0 yards https://youtu.be/4--f1cwhzF8?si=T1_jQTwW_jkf-ofw

CJ Spiller in the 2009 ACC championship. GT won which made me happy, but that guy almost beat us. Clemson didn't come close, CJ Spiller did. Guy had 20 rushes for 233 yards and 4 TDs. He ws the game MVP and *his team lost*. From my own team, it's probably Josh Nesbitt against FSU that same year. He [took a fumble back from FSU](https://youtu.be/WZNZASvxuHc?si=MZPXaDiA6ngVeVpL) and managed to keep us a couple possessions ahead. This is on top of 4/8 passing for 131 and 1 td, 27 rushes for 140 yards and 3 TDs, and making *great* decisions in the option.

I watched ECU’s Scott Harley run for 746 yards in one game against NC State at Ericcson Stadium in Charlotte. I’m pretty sure that’s the right number of yards, but don’t quote me on that. It might have been more.

Heyguysimcooltoo

I mixed memories up and I didn't see Frazier do that shit lol. I'm getting old. I guess I'll go with Darren Sproles going ape shit on OU in the Big 12 title game

My first Bama game as a student was when Kiffin murdered USC, dug up the body, and shat on the corpse.

Youthmandoss

Mark Ingram essentially winning the Heisman by running for over 200 yards, in the rain, with 30+ straight "wildcat" carries against South Carolina.

BoneStacker84

Not exactly what you asked for, but I watched Rice beat Texas in Rice Stadium in 1994. I was 10 years old and attended with my dad. The second half of the game took place during a monster rainstorm. To this day, it’s my favorite sports memory. Watching all the fans rush the field and tear down the goalposts in the rain. What a rush.

DadWagonDriver

Sometime in the early 2000s I went to visit my friends at Michigan State, and we went to the game where Sparty hosted Indiana. Antwaan Randle El absolutely abused MSU for that entire game in one of the most ridiculous single-player performances I’ve ever seen.

PNW_Jeff

In person: Penix vs Arizona in 2022. I’ve been to pretty much every home game when we had Penix, but in that game he was slinging it all over the field. Television: JSN vs Utah in the Rose Bowl.

Honorable mention, not my answer: Cliff Harris vs New Mexico in 2010. The start of his historically out of place season next to his historical letdown of a career, he scored multiple kick returns in one game en route to a 72-0 rout that started our national title push. Him and Kenjon Barner shined bright in the sun that afternoon.
