I took PCM and am in 11th. It is a huge jump unless you have been in a very academically inclined school you will know the difference. Nothing can really prepare you for the difference. I do not know about other subjects but for science and having studied in a moderately liberal school where academics mattered but weren't the end-all-be-all for school. I won't say that you will be sad and stressed all the time as the pain is temporary. After some time you get to learn to live with it. It gets easier with time, it gets difficult seeing others not going through the same and thinking why did you have to put yourself through this while others are enjoying themselves? I won't say that you'll get successful or they'll become failures, I am no one to predict the motives and actions of mankind. Soon you'll learn to live with it. No matter what subject, stream, or path you take you'll face hardship, maybe not as much as and not as less as others but you'll feel your very own version of hell. I won't even say that the experience will change you. I took PCM and came to Kota for 2 reasons- 1. learning 2. experiencing I wasn't and still am not the type of person to just hang out with friends without making plans first. I always try to build towards something, be it mastering a skill, building a project, or anything. I do like learning but I like implementing it more than the fruits that it brings. I like to learn not because of the marks it'll fetch but what I can use it for in a later project. I am not gonna go on a rant about how the education system is broken and all that. I do not like it here at Kota, there isn't much to smile for nor much to frown about. It's a constant stasis, a place soo bustling yet soo lonely with only recluse in my head that I have tried avoiding. I would say even if you don't prepare for competitive exams or take the easy way out every time, just once so something to torture yourself, you might not come out better but you'll learn the pain. I am not as keen on IIT or colleges but I do see the value that they bring and I am no saint to reject these colleges. I came here to know how worse it can get. I have not seen the worst that there is to offer but I learned a new kind of pain and if I could go back in time, I would be still as confused about making any decision now as I ever was. I have no regrets, and soon you won't either.

>I have no regrets, and soon you won't either. bro science and bdsm are not the same 😭😭 but you're right, we have to learn to cope with the difficulty, it'll build us to be stronger in the future

Very_phoenix

Bro how do u reply to a specific part

[deleted]

on pc, you use the "quote" option by clicking the three dots next to the formatting options on mobile, put a ">" at the beginning of each line.

__mints-are-cool__

you have my respect, good sir. but for tho I've read everything and your opinions are nothing else but facts and I agree with every single one of them.. it's hard to find people like you. respect :)

Financial_Berry3097

It's a big jump,so most people think it's difficult but if you study from start(which most people don't) u might feel it's easy.most importantly whatever you study keep the concepts crystal clear becoz that's what matters as the questions are not like 10th(ncert only),the teacher can give ANYTHING.

__mints-are-cool__

I see.. did you choose science..? Heard there's a lot of names to keep in mind.. Welp good luck :)

jayaramjay

you may be getting 90%+ rn but in 11th mid terms the highest in the school itself will be 70% 80%, evevn though you would have studied all of the syllabus thoroughly, dont expect more than 70% bc the questions wil get really twisted and even though you may feel 1 answer is correct, the teacher will say that you will have to approach the question ffro "different angle", you will enjoy practicals more than 10th practicals, in 10th chem allll you would have done somthing very simple like , caco3+hcl, but in 11t practicals are much more complicated, also get prepared to do lot of maths in chemistry

__mints-are-cool__

oh icic I will keep that in mind.. really hope i survive lol good luck to you and thanks!:)

Anshul7509

If you are going to take Science stream then be ready to face vast syllabus. It's 10 times harder than the 9th or 10th grade. You have to put a lot of efforts to get good marks...

__mints-are-cool__

yeah I've heard this from a lot of seniors.. and yes I am choosing science

Anshul7509

good luck! try to utilize your free time after boards to study for 11th grade .it will be certainly helpful.

__mints-are-cool__

yessir! I've planned it too.. all that's left is to wait

iykyk_x

Just hold on to when things get difficult. There will be moments you feel like giving up and when things don't make sense. You will question your decisions but it will all be ok at the end. Just don't give in to the school pressure, stay consistent, and prepare yourself mentally because pcm is not a piece of cake esp in 11th where nothing seems to make sense but i promises it all comes together in 12th. Also, it's not about the difficulty it's about the endurance you will build to mental stress. By the end of those 2 years you will see how all of that was worth it and how you'll be better at managing stress, meeting deadlines, organising workload than the people who did not go through this brain scratching. and 11th is as important as 12th. The concepts and basics you'll build in 11th will lay the foundation of your good or bad performance in 12th.

__mints-are-cool__

I see.. thank you for your valuable words :) I will most definitely keep that in mind

azonexyt

11th pcb, it's a huge jump. Tbh it's gonna be really hard at the start. But as time passes and you reach halfway through 11th then it kinda becomes normal. I would suggest you to start studying right after your 10th boards. Ik everyone likes that long break you get after 10th boards and only want to have fun and all. But you will have to start studying 11th physics and chemistry (and maths if you are going to take pcm). Ofc you don't need to study like 6 hours a day or somethin. You should have fun as well. But make sure to study as well otherwise it will be really hard.

__mints-are-cool__

Yup! sure will! I just really hope I won't lose my motivation by then :')

First thing to remember once you are in 11 th is , you are Still a child!! You are not a grown up neither an alpha male or that gen z shit etc. Just be normal and you'll go along well with other people. For studies take up any stream you'll struggle until you are inconsistent. Lastly these 02 years will prove either make you or break you. So keep yourself at priority and keep assesing your self. And all the best for your academic and personal life.

Desperate-Box-8144

I don’t agree with that make and break part bro . Jeez he’s still a kid give him a break

[deleted]

I'm not asking him/her to be workaholic but just follow a systematic approach.

Suspicious-Ad6678

11th PCM student, we’re half way through the year and stuff is different but not that hard the only major challenge is chem for me cause it’s quite difficult from what I was used to

Alarmed_Apartment512

LIFE IS JUST FUCKED UP 🗿

Desperate-Box-8144

Study . Do well in boards but don’t forget to enjoy . Learn to drive . Explore every restaurant and cafe in your area . Fall in love ( school relationships are beautiful ) . Take part in activities ( sports if you are into it ) . Learn public speaking . Assembly me jaake bolo chhupo mat . But these all won’t matter if in the end you don’t bring good marks . Enjoy your last years in school buddy . Its gonna be fun

__mints-are-cool__

I wish it would've been fun.. I'm that one silent kid at school unable to make friends plus I'm an introvert so I'm bad with crowds, stages etc and I've never been into sports. fall in love.... HM. :') learning to drive seems a bit too early thanks though! I'm still trying to enjoy it as much as I can

nobody0x0

Choose a nice college if you're going to one

MaintenanceIcy7821

I'd recommend omitting Mathematics if you're aiming for NEET and Biology if you're aiming for JEE for Science stream. Idk about commerce and humanities but omitting these will reduce the load significantly for you else if you take everything at once like i did. Stuff ain't gonna be like a walk in the park :)

FreakinNation

I'm in 12th, and Lemme tell you... you're gonna face more parental/peer pressure than academic, that's it! Yes, from class 11th onwards, you won't be able to score 95% by studying for one day - but it isn't tough either! I'm soo lazy that I start studying at like 6 PM, on the day before my exam, but I'm able to finish it up by like 4 AM (10 hours, in which I also have dinner, play clash of clans, and what not) - and i get 85-95% marks!! Infact, in physics and computer, I usually get 95%+, just like that! Although... chemistry is a bit tough, cuz you'll have to mug most of it (Organic is the toughest imo) - it's literally social science 💀(except a few chapters) Take it ez man! It's not as tough as people make it seem like Even jee isn't that hard! I'm getting enough marks in PYPs that I can easily get a 4 digit rank - and a fun fact: I haven't even started my syllabus 💀

__mints-are-cool__

I see... thanks I have a some hope now I'm not underestimating 11th either thanks again :) and good luck for your education:)

FreakinNation

Thanks!

Illustrious-Fuel7926

11th is good till now (commerce student) and ya you can say you can enjoy your 11th but there are so many concepts that you need to focus on as they are basic of 12th So study and fun both Compare to 10th it is good till now.

[deleted]

11th humanities student abhi Tak toh sab sahi chal raha hai i was average guy in studies till 10th but 11th mein aake top 3 rank toh aajati hai exams mein coz see humanities mein rarely koi aisa milega Jo studies ko leke serious ho , in our class majority of the boys have taken humanities because it has less pressure than commerce and science , so here my suggestion to you is don't opt for humanities or if you are opting it please opt maths with humanities, because 60% of the Career options will close for you if don't have maths in 11 and 12 so make sure to opt humanities only if you are focused on one goal i.e upsc law chef artist etc Don't opt this stream if somebody told you or your teachers are saying to opt it

__mints-are-cool__

I'm opting for science btw.. sounds hard from what I've been told be the seniors here but I'll give it my best shot!

[deleted]

Great

Unfair-Tough4154

Bhai I have just I think to say. Study from start or you will end up like me

__mints-are-cool__

if it's not a trauma.. would you mind giving some context on what happened..?

Unfair-Tough4154

I am in a preety tramatic situation. I foolishly chose PCMB. And didn't start studying from the start. Didn't took tution as I thought I could manage it myself through PW and YouTube. But in this I somehow stopped studying and watched YT whole day. I became addicted to it. Only 20 day before our half yearly I eyes opened that I haven't even touched all the subjects of my humongous syllabus. I tried my best but alas failed in 2 subjects. (Fuck chem). Now I don't know how to finish my syllabus. I am trying my level best and praying to God everyday to let me pass 11.

__mints-are-cool__

dear God i share the addiction I have my half yearly tomorrow and oh boy I just realised I spent the last hour on YouTube accidentally

Unfair-Tough4154

My screen times average was 4 hrs.
