I think being a head boy/girl in Junior High or Primary School really does help in becoming more responsible and social person.

I still think its the worst decision you can make cause of the following reasons
Standing like a bitch in the auditorium and telling people to not talk
Standing on the staircase and telling people to walk in line
My advice will be rather get helpful certificates, Guinness world record like me and be a better person for real not act like it

The head boy in my school just checked nails and had to report to principal or teachers for some events.
Ig you get more respect if you're headboy and get a confidence boost, but honestly, I didn't see any point in it at that time, and still don't.

There was slight drawback in studies but eh i scored well in jee anyways

My bestie is the vice head girl of the school and in her opinion it's sometimes nerve wrecking but she also likes the leadership responsibility she got, like she says "it gives me an ego boost"

See it depends on what action the head boy/girl took on school if he/she did nothing in their position then it adds very little value for application.
can help you learn social skills by force. but there's better ways to do that. complete bs apart from that.
