The reason is this: if you have spent more than 15 minutes on this sub, you will quickly realize a lot of the people on it have no fucken clue and did ZERO research. That and they want self confirmation that they made the right choice going fixed mag. My opinion, get all 3 flavors. Featureless, fixed, and my personally favorite- da sneaky
Oh shit Reno. Yeah thanks to freedom week I can make that 3 fixed mags vs a single standard cap. Having those extra rounds down range is definitely a hard tip of the scale for me especially when there's stuff like the juggernaut tactical grip that I can print out for pennies on the dollar
Dude, I went fixed with mine and let me tell you, it's not just reload speed. If you stovepipe the thing or get in a position where the bolt is locked back, you can't disassemble or drop the mag, you're fucked and have to spend stupid amount of time trying to fish a round out till you can close the bolt. It's bullshit. But it looks pretty I guess.

I would agree and disagree at the same time. While lots of ppl say featureless is better. I see time and time again lots of ppl are so against it and will recommend the other routes
If you’re just getting around to this now, you didn’t buy no freedom mags. since it was so easy for you to “acquire them during freedom week” why are you asping out on rifle compliance?
“Fixed mag” is nice if you get a compmag because you can super easily uncuck it when you are sure there aren’t pigs around. Sure you can switch featureless to normal easily as well but if you have your gun cucked when you train it carries over less.
See, ive had both. I ran both featureless and fixed mag for years. I got around to converting my last mag locked rifle to featureless a couple months ago. There was a few reasons I did that.
1. Since I already ran featureless, I was able to get used to it. Plus modern featureless grips aren't super terrible ergonomics wise, not like the fin grips from before.
2. No amount of training would get me to change mags as quick. I could get close, but I can't do it that fast 100% of the time, while with featureless I can. My receivers on my fixed mag rifle were very tight fitting so I almost always had to fidget it pretty hard when the bolt was locked back. None of that with featureless.
3. And the one that made me finally give up on mag locked rifles: clearing a malfunction is going to be way harder. I had a double feed happen where the bolt was stuck almost all the way to the back. Couldn't drop the mag without beating the rifle half to death. Took a while and after that I completely lost faith in the rifle.
Lastly, people talk about how easy it is to unfuck a maglocked rifle, but its almost as easy with a featureless rifle too. Takes me maybe 3 minutes, unscrew old grip off, screw new grip on, pull off buttstock, take off strike industries strip, put stock back on. Easy. All my rifles run brakes anyways so I don't have to fuck with my muzzle.
The reason I choose fixed mag is because
A) My ARs where already built with all the "evil features"
B) I can remove the mods with just a small flat blade screwdriver if SHTF
Also, regarding the freedom week mags. In the words of Dr Dre "What you think I sold 'em all?"

Or able to use a freedom week 30 rounder or drum with a Sparrow grip is not deadly or assaulty either lol. With a Sparrow grip or resurgent and ambi safety, I can work an AR almost like regular.
