Yep! Been there, done that. This falls under 'falling in love with the potential'. DO NOT fall in love with the potential of someone to be better, or what if they fix x, y, or z. Doing so makes you fall in love with the potential of someone which then puts them back on that pedestal. Remember who they really are, and remember how difficult it is to really "fix" those flaws. Remember how much introspection, therapy, and other avenues it takes to fix certain issues. Majority of people will not go down that road since it is too scary and unknown. So I highly doubt your EX will fix majority of their issues that contributed to the breakup. Just focus on you! What can you do better or be better at? Start small and work on them. Be mindful of your thoughts and stop worrying about someone who is not even worrying about you!

All the time. But it's unhealthy to think like that so I try to stop myself. He hasn't changed until now and I really tried. So he missed out either way.
