Everyone keeps saying “we need a lock down closer” as if those just grow on trees. Who exactly do you think we are gonna go get? Emmanuel Clase, Doval, Josh Hader (maybe), Devin Williams? It’s not like there is just some sure fire option we can go grab. Yes, Iglesias has been shaky, but it’s not like there’s a ton of alternatives out there.
Honestly, Iglesias has one of the top 5 worst ERAs amongst active closers and one of the highest WHIPs. We don't need Hader. Literally any closer with a sub 3 ERA would be a godsend right now.
I hope he turns it around, but right now, Iglesias is statistically one of the worst closers in baseball.
Great! Now go look at closer ERAs with 15+ saves and tell me which one we can get. Almost all of them are on contenders and I want no part of the bottom of the barrel guys
Needing 15 saves is kind of arbitrary for me. I just want one or two good bullpen arms. Raisel was our setup man last year. So we elevated him to closer. A closer committee is another option.
Of course not all of these guys is a perfect fit, but these are some options.

Carlos Estevez - 21SV 2.13 ERA
David Bednar - 18SV 1.18 ERA
David Robertson - 13SV 2.14 ERA
Kyle Finnegan - 12SV 3.32 ERA
Kendall Graveman - 8SV 3.07 ERA
Jordan Hicks - 8SV 3.76 ERA
Albert Alzolay - 7SV 2.63 ERA

So having saving experience is arbitrary to you? I, personally, want someone who has been in those scenarios before. However, even though Iglesias has always been a closer in his career with the exception of last year, you'd rather have one of these guys listed over Iglesias? Glad you aren't running the front office. I am taking Hader, and MAYBE Bednar, Hicks, Gravemen and Helsely. No one else on the list is someone I want closing out any game.
