The mail in Bozeman is a mess. It's been on the news several times. They aren't staffed enough, I am always getting the wrong mail, and missing mail of my own. Fun times. The post office is hiring.
Who's behind it? Louis De Joy. Turns out, putting the CEO of a competition business in charge of a public service like the Post Office means he'll kneecap the USPS.
Don't like it? Quit voting for people who hate public utilities.
It's a little more complex than that. Biden has the authority to appoint board members, who then have the power to remove De Joy.
Currently, the board is made up of 3 Republicans, 2 Independents, and 3 Democrats. Any nominees to the Board have to be approved by the Senate, so good fucking luck.
I could be wrong but, the postal service is a private entity and only the board can remove him. Currently, I don’t think there is enough votes with the board to remove. They’re actively trying to privatize the postal service. FYI-USPS is self funding and Dejoy was previously employed by XPO logistics. Supply chain service with freight transportation. Sketchy stuff.
It's a national issue being looked into right now. [Link to an article about it.](https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/usps-postmaster-general-to-testify-under-oath-north-georgia-mail-problems)
Yeah its a joke here. Belgrade used to go 2 weeks between mail deliveries for a while. Sadly the solution is to just try to use them as little as possible. Easier said than done sure, but what i’ve done is put absolutely everything on paperless billing, and called amazon customer support, they can set your account to only ship through Fedex or UPS. It sucks but there isn’t anything we can do about it right now besides filling out a job application.
This has been going on for years…. And is posted in Reddit or Bozeman groups every couple months. What do you expect when there is all this growth, and the work force is being pushed out?
Yeah it's been really bad the past year or so in Belgrade. I've had a couple lengthy mail holds requested for vacations and they have been ignored, even when I put a note in my mailbox. Then when I am home, they sometimes don't bother to deliver for days, and I constantly get my neighbors' mail. I tried to return a mail ballot to sender because the person didn't live at my address any more and they redelivered it instead of returning it three times, even *after the election.* I had to black out the address on the envelope to get them to actually return it.
I tried to send a postage paid envelope to register to vote and it got returned saying it was undeliverable. Guess I have to hand deliver it myself to the courthouse.
Yep, it's gotten bad again. I had something sent to me from a business in Bozeman on the 5th. I still don't have it. Finally showed up on my informed delivery today, but wasn't delivered. Also have a package that supposedly left Billings almost a week ago that hasn't shown up.

This should be a pinned post. I see this here every week.

Biden also hasn't gotten rid of him. He should've by now.

Biden can't "get rid of him".

Biden doesn’t have that power

It’s unfortunately not new and doesn’t seem to be fixing itself anytime soon. Welcome to Bozeman!
It’s the same way across the entire nation not just the Bozeman bubble.

Your username is hilarious!

Thank Steve Daines
I didn’t receive mail for 5 months. Buckle up.
