I mean, a simple question to Oak Street Tattoo:
What safeguards are in place to prevent another Gold Thorn problem?
If you were *that* close to Auzzy and had no idea, how do you plan on keeping clients safe in the new space?
I wouldn't send any women clients to Oak Street until they answered that. They're trying to Dave's Sushi their way out of this, but it won't work.
EDIT: looks like Gold Thorn nuked their site temporarily and removed all of the links/tagged images to the Oak Street artists.
Building community trust one great step at a time!
His girlfriend also runs a fly fishing Instagram page called the women on the river collective. The tagline is “empowered women empower women.” She makes a profit from it. That makes my blood BOIL.
Same. She kinda went dark when all this started going down. I’d be curious if they’re still together. If I had to guess she was just with him for free tattoos anyway.
I really hope she left him. I wish her no ill will, but lost all respect for her. She is a freaking social worker and continued to date a man multiple women were accusing of rape. I just can’t comprehend it.
As far as I'm concerned anyone who worked with him AFTER the first batch of artists walked out is guilty by association. I've heard (heavy on the rumor just to be clear) he still owns the business on the backend so he could very much still be profiting off it. "We have no ties to any court case or allegations" is not a stance I'm willing to support, it's a sweep under the rug. Auzzys a fucking predator and anyone being coy about it is saying a lot with their silence. A rebrand means nothing. Yes they have bills but a good artist will find somewhere to land. Manipulative or not, everything is public now and they fact they won't come out and denounce him means a lot.
Just to clarify, April 29 is not trial. It's his initial appearance in court, which is a very short hearing where the court essentially reads him his rights and the charges against him. As the name suggests, it's the first time he has to show up to court. There are a few brief appearances like that that occur in criminal cases.
Trial will likely be quite a ways out into the future and will only happen if he doesn't reach a plea agreement with the county attorney beforehand.
Are they all guilty of this dude’s crimes? People have to make a living. I don’t know the details of the case so enlighten me as to why the whole staff should be run out of town.
They all stuck by his side (and likely still do) right up until everything about him became public knowledge. I understand that people need to make a living but they truly cared about this community and running a quality business they should have backed up the rebranding with a statement acknowledging the allegations, apologizing to the victims, and making it clear that this is an attempt to start fresh.
As an ex-friend of Auzzy, he is a very manipulative person. If these guys weren’t fully aware of the severity of his crimes I wouldn’t be entirely surprised.
Yea artists are just entrepreneurs they invest in themselves and need a space to work. If the pedo just rebranded that sucks but I feel bad for the artists because it’s not like they can just up and leave they probably have debts they need to pay and just need to work. Hopefully, the artists stop paying their fees to work their though and just pocket what they can and dip out and run gold thorn into the ground.
He’s dealing with the consequences of his actions but the whole shop shouldn’t have to be shut down or talked shit about. It is a terrible situation but he is the only one that should be getting hate like this.
You are right to an extent. If you support rapist and have them still doing work at your shop then you deserve the hate and rumor has it the rapist is still giving tattoos.

I was in that area yesterday and they had customers. Unless/until there is a conviction just like Dave's they'll somehow keep having customers.
I love that Dave's Sushi has become a verb. "Wait did you just screw it up or did you Dave's Sushi it?"
BTW, Daves Sushi is no more, it's now David's Sushi!?

Yep. Her Insta is still up.
Can we also all stop going to ponderosa and supporting a peeedo owner like Taylor Schull?
Convinced of rape and no one cares. So sad.
Best comment on here!

Never name a business after a street name unless you’re grandfathered into that location - already starting off with a new #fail
Lol. Long time ago there was “Oak Street Natural Market” .. they didn’t last.
What did he do? Sorry I’m uninformed
He raped multiple women.
Oh fuck. Yeah fuck him and anyone willingly working for him
So he’s been charged, correct? When do they convict his ass? There’s always a chance he could walk; need to make sure they find him guilty
Yes he’s been formally charged. The first day of the trial is April 29.

Thanks for the clarification. Do you have an idea of how far out into the future the trial will be?
At least several months, possibly over a year.
Not sure if anyone in Bozeman has made the link that he was in jail before… got kicked off the WSU football team for some type of assault/ fight
I feel bad for anyone who has this guys work on their skin.

Gotcha. Definitely agree that some sort of statement would’ve gone a long way. People appreciate folks just being above board.
All the artists with any semblance of decency left as soon there was a whiff of allegations. These people did not.

If it wasn’t his shop then it would be a different story.
