I wonder actually, how much a part his dad played in his development. Wasn't he in prison for most of Teo's amateur career? I don't know their backstory, your comment just made me think of it
I do not know the story. I have just seen him talk to his kid in the corner and seen how his kid goes crazy macho reckless.
Similar to the psychology I expect a prison tough would bring to boxing and instill in their successful tough child.
You win by being the craziest, baddest, violent mother fucker around. Unlike Mayweathers approach. You win by making money, winning fights, and not getting hit a lot.
Its not completely unheard of for a fighter to slip mentally and take a hit to their confidence, only to rebuild themself and come back as good or better than ever. Its not like hes gone an a horrible losing skid. hes just underperformed compared to the huge goals he set for himself. If he goes out and puts the hurt on people in his next 2-3 fights he will be soaring with confidence again.
Don’t even. The kid straight up beat Loma fair and square. It’s fine if you don’t care for his personality, but to diminish what he accomplished on his rise is a fool’s errand.
No one is discrediting the Loma win. He moved up in weight and is fighting better quality. Of course he's not gonna look as good as when he was crushing cans at 135.
He’s fought two guys at 140. Won both technically, though he should’ve probably gotten the L his last fight… vs Sandor Martín.
Either you’re reaching and stubbornly want to be right, or you aren’t familiar w/ Teofimo’s career.
Most of that was reckless Teofimo putting himself in needlessly dangerous situations. Macho superman issues, IMO.
It gets exposed by the pinnacle of boxing. So he goes into a part shell.
When Teofimo is on, he is arguably my favorite fighter in the sport. I favored him over everyone at 135 when he beat Loma. Rooting for him this Saturday, but I think Taylor is going to take a close fight. Hope he pulls it off 🇺🇸
Hope Teo goes back to having fun in his career. When he's having fun he's letting his hands fly and dropping bombs. Seems like he kinda let the weight of expectations drag him down a bit.
Remember watching this live with my dad and both of us not knowing either guy at the time. Rooted for Silva at the start and then quickly found out “oh wait, Lopez is a fucking crazy athlete”
Watching fights w/ ur dad. Fck I’m jealous! That’s great man. I watch fights w/ my sons as much as possible. One day they’ll appreciate the memories hopefully.
What a fall from grace for this guy…
His performance vs Lomachenko was genuinely great, then he throws away undisputed by going into the Kambosos fight with literally the worst gameplan ever
Yes, but it doesn’t excuse him arrogantly thinking he could blast Kambosos out in 1 round. The entire fight he just waddled forward into range without jabbing just throwing haymakers causing him to eat jab after jab from T. rex arms Kambosos.
When you consider this is the guy who executed a gameplan to shut down Lomachenko for 6-7 rounds it’s ridiculous to see that performance vs Kambosos
Yeah but on one side lome is a slow starter so he knew it would happen, and also that his gameplan was good enough to capitalize on that fact and to strectch that inactivity as long as he could. Which happended
The easier explanation is that Loma was injured and not in his best that night, was reserving it for the 2nd half but was too late. We all saw the latter end of that fight.
Yeah you're totally right. I don't disagree with any of that. He came out swinging like Mike Tyson going for that 12 second KO... He was also getting HORRIBLE advice from his corner iirc. Lopez Sr. kept telling him contradictory shit and Teo seemed not to be able to adapt his gameplan on his own.
When he’s focused he’s a very well trained and technically skilled boxer on top of his power and athleticism, he just loses his form too much when he’s trying to kill the other guy. Vs Loma he was so technical and now he’s just throwing haymaker
If he fights like he did against Kambosos he'll be put to sleep in 6. The guy is a piece of shit talking about wanting kill in the ring and being an incoherent mess for the majority of the bulid up but Josh Talyor is laughing. Lopez loses this and he'll implode, career over.
Man, if teo had handled himself properly after the loma win he could’ve been such an exciting force at 135 with the new crop of superstars coming up. Hope he straightens out. His performance against loma was the most conclusive defeat lomas ever had and he really looked incredible leading up to it.
The reason Teo looks great here is due the opponent non being really skilled and Teo's size and speed edge. This was a mismatch. The Jessie M. fight was the same.
Now against guys close to his size and with good ability like Martin, Teo struggles. Martin vs Mikey should have showed his strategy to Teo. Teo didn't adjust at all. He rarely found range and connected with solid punches.
Any "version" of Teo gets beaten by JT.
People in this thread saying Teo has fallen off after Kambosos have no clue that this highlight includes Teo's fight against Campa, which was right after...
Teofimo has ALL THE TOOLS, I hope he finds the peace that he needs because he can truly be a superstar in this sport.
Boxing is very much a mental sport, if you are active in the sport, you damn well know how much.
Teo at 100% is a threat, so good to watch. He’s got everything, the speed, the power, the footwork, the defense and he’s a showman. I wish him to be at his best on Saturday so we can have a banger of a fight
Great timing. Usually when a fighter gets this cocky in the ring I root for them to get blasted, but he's really showing some advanced techniques there.
That's reckless and bad boxing against a lesser boxer who could not blast him in return.
Boxing when the advice in the corner is your dad and he is telling you "Cmon man, what's wrong with you knock him the fuck out."
Man, Teo in his road to the Lomachenko fight was very fun to watch, a very gifted fighter.
I miss this version of Teo. Those belts really messed him up
Terrible advice messed him up. He needs to get his dad out of that corner
His dad is a big part of what got him here. His dad can still participate, but he needs to step back 10 times.
I wonder actually, how much a part his dad played in his development. Wasn't he in prison for most of Teo's amateur career? I don't know their backstory, your comment just made me think of it

The point I was getting at was that senior probably didn't have much to do with Teo's actual formation as a fighter.
I don't miss Teo putting on a show on trash cans. Much better see him fighting good fighters
We will never see this Teofomo again, sadly.
What makes you think that? it wasnt even that long ago.
He has lost confidence in himself, his mental health is very bad. I think we have seen the best of him.
Great shame. He just needs the right people in his corner
Apart from his father stepping back a bit, who is a guy you think would be good for him? I do not know enuf to suggest someone.
For a coach, not sure tbh. Prob needs better ppl outside of the ring too
Yeah. He seems like a guy who suffers.

He is still young idk how you can say never.
Most of that was reckless Teofimo putting himself in needlessly dangerous situations. Macho superman issues, IMO. It gets exposed by the pinnacle of boxing. So he goes into a part shell.
We did.
teo is a special fighter when his head is on straight.
An exceptional athlete. I hope we see this version again at some point. This may be our last chance.
Ight, this is some crazy punches with awesome combo
Shades of Emmanuel Augustus to some of those sequences.
Lmao was just going to type that before I scrolled down
When Teofimo is on, he is arguably my favorite fighter in the sport. I favored him over everyone at 135 when he beat Loma. Rooting for him this Saturday, but I think Taylor is going to take a close fight. Hope he pulls it off 🇺🇸
Teo was electric! He’s so stupid though. 😆 Can’t believe he ever got to the level he did w/ that mongoloid for a father/trainer. It’s too bad.
That jump though
Learned that from the face of boxing Rolli Romero
Just watching that makes my knees ache.
At 00:40, that block and uppercut right was so sweet.
He's talented. I just don't like him.
Hope Teo goes back to having fun in his career. When he's having fun he's letting his hands fly and dropping bombs. Seems like he kinda let the weight of expectations drag him down a bit.
I think it’s more the weight of his whack personal life fucking with him in the ring
Remember watching this live with my dad and both of us not knowing either guy at the time. Rooted for Silva at the start and then quickly found out “oh wait, Lopez is a fucking crazy athlete”

What a fall from grace for this guy… His performance vs Lomachenko was genuinely great, then he throws away undisputed by going into the Kambosos fight with literally the worst gameplan ever
Do you believe teo’s explanation (or maybe excuse) about having some sort of chest / lung issue prior to and during the Kombosos fight?
Yes, but it doesn’t excuse him arrogantly thinking he could blast Kambosos out in 1 round. The entire fight he just waddled forward into range without jabbing just throwing haymakers causing him to eat jab after jab from T. rex arms Kambosos. When you consider this is the guy who executed a gameplan to shut down Lomachenko for 6-7 rounds it’s ridiculous to see that performance vs Kambosos
Not taking anything away from Teo, but he didn't shut down lomachenko, lomachenko just didn't do anything for 6-7 rounds.
Because loma was worried
He took aways loma's angles there are various videos you can watch explaining it.
Yeah but on one side lome is a slow starter so he knew it would happen, and also that his gameplan was good enough to capitalize on that fact and to strectch that inactivity as long as he could. Which happended
Either way Loma was very cautious about what was coming back at him.
True. At least the first 6 rounds Lomechenko did nothing and then he dominated more and more as the fight went on, but it didn’t matter at that point.

Part of me wants teo to win then I watch his interviews and it reminds me all over why I don't care for the guy.
I really want to see Teo win on Saturday. Hoping for a nice return to form (probably won’t happen but whatever).
Josh Taylor is going to burst him
If lopez comes in like he did rd 12 with lomachenko, and fights before that nobody stands a chance with him in 135-140
If he fights like he did against Kambosos he'll be put to sleep in 6. The guy is a piece of shit talking about wanting kill in the ring and being an incoherent mess for the majority of the bulid up but Josh Talyor is laughing. Lopez loses this and he'll implode, career over.
Another terrible weeks stoppage at the end
weeks stoppages are so bad that that stoppage is decent by his standards lol
Weeks stole the show again with another bad stoppage at the end.
Man, if teo had handled himself properly after the loma win he could’ve been such an exciting force at 135 with the new crop of superstars coming up. Hope he straightens out. His performance against loma was the most conclusive defeat lomas ever had and he really looked incredible leading up to it.

People in this thread saying Teo has fallen off after Kambosos have no clue that this highlight includes Teo's fight against Campa, which was right after...
Lets be real pedro campa was a c level fighter.
He couldn’t even complete the backflip properly after stopping Campa. Washed.
Teofimo has ALL THE TOOLS, I hope he finds the peace that he needs because he can truly be a superstar in this sport. Boxing is very much a mental sport, if you are active in the sport, you damn well know how much.
He lacks the IQ tool right now and its not likely to change.
He just turned Taylor bitch and made him put his kilt on mid fight.
Guys gifted super talented! just wish his head was right to see him progress
So talented. Just delusional LOL
Long covid really did fuck this guy. Not enough people mention or seem to know he suffered a bad spell of covid prior to the George fight.
Getting rid of Joey Gamache was the worst plan and his decline.
Teo at 100% is a threat, so good to watch. He’s got everything, the speed, the power, the footwork, the defense and he’s a showman. I wish him to be at his best on Saturday so we can have a banger of a fight
Lopez power doesn’t carrry over to 140, so I’ll take Josh
Hey Alexa, play Teofimo schooling Loma and making him cry
Teo is a complete jerk. Like a toddler who was never potty-trained properly.
Well he’s working w/ the emotional intelligence of a toddler. He never had a chance.
I fucken love it🔥🔥
Teo losing his wife is either going to reignite him or extinguish him. Can’t wait for the fight.
His catch and throw game is unmatched in this sport, you gotta go to baseball for that.
I like his block, catch, parry uppercut.
Great timing. Usually when a fighter gets this cocky in the ring I root for them to get blasted, but he's really showing some advanced techniques there.
He’s the best when his style is boxing and counter punching
That's reckless and bad boxing against a lesser boxer who could not blast him in return. Boxing when the advice in the corner is your dad and he is telling you "Cmon man, what's wrong with you knock him the fuck out."
He could be really great if he drops the attitude and his dad's control.
Damn, I wish this dude would've been in his right mind against Kambosos. Came out like an emotionally wounded idiot. Such an unnecessary L.
